Where's the second person in bout 7?
That will be you. I made a mistake in the bouts so I needed one more person to join. My internet is finally working, yay!, so I'll add you right now.

We can vote now right?

1. Anobyl
2. Scullibundo
3. Cyan
4. Nihilism
5. cashman
6. shintoki
7. Kusagari
8. Vestal
9. DanielPlainview
10. UltimaPooh
11. DieNgamers (TenaciousD, interesting choice)
12. Son of Godzilla
13. Trellisaze

I went through each round of each bout and it took a very long time. Very tough to make decisions on some of them (had some neutral rounds for each bout, but kept a tally for each).

1. Vox-Pop
2. Scullibundo
3. Cyan.
4. Solo.
5. cashman
6. TIED. (Are we allowed to do this? We should have had an odd number of films because they got 5 a piece)
7. Kusagari
8. Forkball.
9. Schattenjagger (Plainview pointed out that this was indeed a good round, which made me check it out again. Originally Plainview had my vote because of T2 and Eternal Sunshine. How could I deny a list that has T2 on it? But fuck me, Raiders, Fellowship and Dark Knight brought him back up to level. Literally came down to Slumdog and Zodiac - Slumdog which I loved at first (then bought) and now grates on me and Zodiac which I originally thought was good but overlong - but now grows in my appreciation for it.)
10. Bulla564
11. DieNgamers
12. yacobod
13. Trellisaze
14. Wes (though where is his 10th pick?)
15. muttyeah416
16. Ford Prefect (literally came down to the last round for this one)

1. Anobyl
Hardest match-up for me. Anobyl's final films just push him over for me.

2. Scullibundo
Love ya Juice, but nothing on your list tops Schinder or Goodfellas. <3 for choosing KKBB, though.

3. Cyan
Casablanca puts you over the top.

4. N/A
Its my own bracket, lulz.

5. tekumseh
Okay, I lied - this was even tougher than match 1. Great films in both lists.

6. shintoki
Magnolia <3 2001 <3 <3 FRWL <3 <3 <3

7. Kusagari
12 Angry Men, Amadeus, and Clockwork make me love your list.

8. Forkball
You have one of my favorite Kurosawas and the best epic of all-time on your list.

9. DanielPlainview
Deer Hunter, City of God, and Eternal Sunshine lead you on to the next round.

10. Bulla564
You win for Der Untergang and Oldboy, which together edge out Children of Men.

11. n0b
Rififi and Wings of Desire are fantastic picks.

12. yacobod
I love every film on your list to varying degrees.

13. Trellisaze
Blade Runner, Malick, and the brilliant Night Of The Hunter? Sign me up.

14. Wes
Rear Window <3

15. muttyeah416
The Third Man tips the scales in your favor for me.

16. Ford Prefect
Your top 3 are 3 of my mavorite films ever. And a bonus point for Speed Racer, you crazy bastard!

1 - Anobyl
2 - Scullibundo (he stole Goodfellas from me!)
3 - Cyan - more classics
4 - Nihilism (better rounded list - American Beauty another one of my favorites)
5 - cashman - pretty close but he has Ferris
6 - shintoki - From Russia With Love puts it over the top for me
7 - Kusagari
8 - Vestal - though he should get negative points for Scarface, he has John Bender!
9 - have to say me but DP has a decent list
10 - Bulla564 - on any other day, this could have been one of my lists - good job!
11 - DieNgamers - a more fun list
12 - yacobod - LA Confidential, nuff said

Unlike the music draft where most of my choices were fairly clear-cut, most of these went back and forth. For every listed movie I liked, the next one would often be something I can't stand. :lol Went with the lesser of two evils in a lot of cases. If n0b doesn't win the entire draft, though, everyone has failed so hard.

Pimpage

Round one: Scarface - Brian De Palma
What more is there to say than.... "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND"
Round two: Excalibur - John Boorman
This is a childhood favorite. One of the first Fantasy movies I saw. Kick ass story along side some kick ass orchestral music.(Carmina Burana, Wagner)
Round three: Black Hawk Down - Ridley Scott
One of the most realistic War movies ever made.
Round four: Akira - Katsuhiro Ôtomo
The movie title says it all
Round five: Cleopatra - Joseph L. Mankiewicz
The first great big Production movie. The scope of the movie was spectacular.
Round six: MallRats - Kevin Smith
Lets see, double nipple fortune teller, and STAN LEE? Yup im sold
Round seven: As Good as it Gets - James L. Brooks
One of my favorite Jack Nicholson movies. All around great acting, and I will say every time I watch it, it really gets to me. Should have one Best Picture over Titanic but oh well.
Round eight: The Breakfast Club - John Hughes
The 1980s movie. The brat pack at its best, along with some very good social exploration.
Round nine: Blazing Saddles - Mel Brooks
Mel Brooks at his very best.. and hello Gene Wielder.
Round ten: Clash of the Titans - Desmond Davis
One of the original Fantasy flicks. Solid story, good special effects(for the times)

AlternativeUlster

Absolutely pathetic part deux
1. Vox-Pop
While I think Jesse James, There Will Be Blood, and the Lives of Others are top 20 films of the decade and Hot Fuzz is one of the funniest, I really despise Gangs of New York as lackluster uninspired filmmaking despite Daniel Day Lewis's performance and Pan's Labyrinth as random WWII story with Del Toro's "look at my crazy creatures." The Science of Sleep is greatly underrated and scared me for who I was, Lost in Translation, Royal Tenenbaums, and Amelie are also best films of the decade and Heathers is my first cult film I believe I have ever seen. I also actually like everything on Vox's list too.

2. CajoleJuice
I love Die Hard and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang but overall both of these lists don't really excite me.

3. Cyan
Charade is a personal top 20 of mine an Cyan gets my vote on that alone. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? Really Shin?

4. Solo
Solo's list is pretty cookie cutter but I guess they remain classics for a reason. I also hate Kicking and Screaming and Big Fish and find Y Tu Mama Tambien and One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest overrated.

5. tekumseh
A lot of great classics on this list, also cashman has the terrible La Vie en Rose biopic despite having some heavy hitters.

6. shintoki
Chungking Express is instant happiness. All the films on his list too are great (haven't seen From Russia to Love though) and ALeper having movies like Old School makes me not even interested in his list. Also, he has the worst Kubrick movie too (Full Metal Jacket).

7. Cosmic Bus
Wall-E can suck it for fucking forever.

8. Forkball
HAving Black Hawk Down, Mallrats, and Scarface on a list is gross.

9. DanielPlainview
Even though I think Do the Right Thing is outdated rubbish, I do love the morality drama of Gone Baby Gone, the Fountain is the top 5 Sci-Fi films of the decade, the Squid and the Whale is another great film probably in the top 30 for the decade (even though I like Margot at the Wedding more), and City of God was fun to watch.

10. Bulla564
UltimaPooh loses for having more biopic fodder (Milk) and Taladega Nights. I guess I loved Life is Beautiful when it came out and still like Rocky and Snatch.

11. n0b
Great great list, possibly the greatest list other than my own.

12. Son of Godzilla
I guess I decided it solely on Son picking the best Lupin movie.

13. Trellisaze
Sunrise, Days of Heaven, The Apartment, Seven Samurai, classics, classics, classics. Fuck Animal House though.

14. Wes
Once is one of my favorites of the decade, still love Good Will Hunting despite its backlash but I thought Ultimatum was the worst of the trilogy, don't care for Rear Window, and also thought the Departed was terrible. On Killer's list though, I have a thing against 25th Hour and A Very Long Engagement and the Life Aquatic was the first time where Anderson's soundtrack choices made me dumbfounded. The only film I really love on Killer's list though is His Girl Friend.

15. ALTERNATIVEULSTER
My list is fucking awesome. Muttyeah416 does have Annie Hall which is the best romantic comedy of all time if not the best comedy of all time.

16. Ford Prefect
Nothing wrong with cmon's list at all but Ford does have Brazil, Spirit of the Beehive, and my favorite Godard.

Alright, time to vote...

1. Anobyl - Some of my favourite movies in there. Pan's Labyrinth!
2. Scullibundo - This one was hard. I like several movies in both lists but Sculli wins with Cameron and Scott movies.
3. Cyan - Not easy as well but I'll go with the fun movies. I loved ninja Scroll and American History X, though.
4. Nihilism - So many classics in both lists.
5. cashman - Dirty Harry wins!
6. ALeperMessiah - Omg, too many great movies here....Hard to decide and I still don't know how I picked a winner. :lol 2001 is great and so is full metal jacket....
7. Kusagari - I love godzilla but I don't know too many films in cosmic bus' list so...
8. Vestal - Akira.
9.Schattenjagger - Two blockbuster lists. I choose the one with Indy, LotR and tDK. :)
10. UltimaPooh - Idiocracy and Children of Men...Great to ssee them in one list. :D
11. (well, that would be me...) Actually I don't know if I know any of n0b's films. Maybe I've seen them. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like them, though!
12.yacobod - I love Sci Fi horror so yacobod wins. However, thumbs-up for Monthy Python in S.o.Godzilla's list!
13. AlteredBeast ...has bill and Ted. :)
14. Wes This time Monthy Python is in the winner list. ;)
15. muttyeah416 Ulster has a very alternative list and I love The man who fell to earth but my ignorance (haven't seen most of those films) makes me choose the other one.
16. Ford Prefect Barry Lyndon and Brazil, enough said!

Ok, here are my picks (with my favorite films they won my heart over with)

1. Anobyl (The Prestige)
2. CajoleJuice (Die Hard)
3. Cyan (Casablanca)
4. Solo (Vertigo, G B and Ugly, or Conversation. Can't pick :D )
5. cashman (Godfather, Taxi Driver, Jurassic Park, Reservoir Dogs! Amazing list)
6. ALeperMessiah (Pulp Fiction, Matrix)
7. Kusagari (first 5 are in my top 20 films :lol )
8. Vestal (Black Hawk Down)
9. Wow, good battle :)
10. Bulla564 (This one was IMPOSSIBLE, Children of Men is my favorite movie of the decade, but Bulla had more of my favs, incl Godfather pt. 2, Snatch, and Oldboy)
11. DieNgamers (The Shining)
12. Son of Godzilla (tough, but Memento, Dog Day, Heat, Cool Hand Luke and In Bruges!)
13. Trellisaze (Days of Heaven)
14. Wes (really tough, love Rear Window, Departed, Once, Inside Man, Bourne though)
15. muttyeah416 (Annie Hall, Empire, Adaptation, Third Man, Graduate, Diving Bell!)
16. cmonmanreally (wins by default since Speed Racer is one of the worst movies of last year)

so here are my choices, let me just say that none of these were easy. ill reserve my dissection on these lists for the end of the tournament. but yeah, great lists to everybody.

1) Anobyl
2) Scullibundo
3) Cyan
4) Solo
5) tekumseh
6) shintoki
7) Kusagari
8) Forkball
9) DanielPlainview

Fork 'em, Sparky!
1. Vox-Pop
2. Scullibundo (both incredible lists)
3. Cyan (once again, both amazing)
4. Solo
5. Cashman (both incredibly, would rather repeatedly rewatch Cashman's list though, if forced)
6. ALeperMessiah (same as above)
7. Kusaragi (no offense, Hotarubi, I have just never seen anything on your list. :( )
8. Vestal (first blow true blow-out in the list)
9. Schattenjagger (closest race of the first round. Holy crap)
10. Bulla564
11. DieNGamers
12. Yacobod (see round 9)
13. AlteredBeast (kidding, my vote doesn't count on this bout :p )
14. Wes
15. muttyeah416
16. cmonmanreally (very close race!)

7. (none) - unfair. I haven't seen enough of Cosmic Bus' picks. Going by what I've seen from the directors though, it is pretty close. The negatives in Kusagari's list are what made me not make a choice.
8. Forkball
9. DanielPlainview
10. Bulla564
11. (none) - (my round) Your list is pretty good (and consistent), but at the same time the Shining is the only movie there that I would consider great.
12. yacobod
13. Tellisaze
14. Wes - close
15. (none) - unfair. Initially I was going to choose muttyeah (Annie Hall, Adaptation, The Graduate) but after seeing AlternativeUlster's reasoning for his own votes, I figured I should give the movies I hadn't seen a chance (At first, because of The Man Who Fell to Earth in the list, I assumed I wouldn't like them.) I am Cuba, 400 Blows, Woody Allen, and Jarmusch also helped things.
16. Ford Prefect - Nearly impossible to choose, but I give it to Ford Prefect because he took many of my choices: Brazil, Once Upon a Time in the West, and if I had made a Coen pick it would have probably been Miller's Crossing

I feel bad considering the two lists I had seen the least of were from people who have given me the most praise. Cosmic Bus and AlternativeUlster I will be checking out what I haven't already seen in your lists when I can.

#1 Godfather Part II

At this point, I had the chance to pick either the FIRST Godfather, or this one. If I want to see the best movie ever made about the old mafia, I'll watch the first one. If I want to see overall a better crafted, more complex, more ambitious, and overall better movie about the downfall of a man, I'll watch the Godfather part II.

#2 La Vita e Bella

5xrv3hz.jpg

tn2_vita_e_bella_4.jpg

A good movie about the Holocaust, it is better known for its charismatic leading character. A heartwarming movie, ultimately about a father's sacrifice for his family, and making light of the most extreme bad situations. Among the best foreign language films.

#3 Singing in the Rain

Singing_3.jpg

Singin.jpg

If I was to include a musical in my list, might as well include an overall great movie, with a great story. There isn't a better movie dealing with that time in Hollywood that we went from silent to voices. This one is simply timeless.

#4 OldBoy

old-boy-writer-update.jpg

oldboy-hammer-fight-corridor-scene1.jpg

What can I say? close to a mind F@#$ as Brazil, gut-wrenching ending, one of the best fight scenes ever, and it leaves a lasting impression on you. That you have to digest for 30 minutes what the hell happened, it is often a sign of a good movie.

#5 Snatch

snatch-1.jpg

snatch-pitt-flemyng.jpg

Snatch-2.jpg

IMO Guy Ritchie's best. One of the most quotable movies ever, memorable characters, funny, good interlocking stories, and it is a prime example of a soundtrack making a movie. You like dags?

#6 Downfall (Der Untergang)

Damn. When I think acting performances, I think Downfall. When I think Germany in WWII, I think Downfall. When I think great movie based on true events, I think Downfall. Great movie.

#7 Traffic

traffic-1.jpg

It was between this one and Blow, but this one is simply the better movie. Great use of colors to tell different stories, it's a good look on the war on drugs, with a clear message about it.

#8 Up

It was this, Wall-E or Ratatouille, and this one simply affected me more. Great movie.

#9 Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance

My introduction to the series, one of the better duo action flicks, with a cool plot, badass villains, and shit getting blown up.

#10 Rocky

The one that started it all. Rags to riches with a very likable main guy. It's Rocky yo.

Most of the movies you picked I just haven't seen, as opposed to Kusagaris. Which i have seen all and recognize most of them great movies. Atleast 4 of his picks are in my top 20 movies. I will however take some time to see the movies you have posted and find out what ur on to :D

Everything but round 8 and 9 of Kusaragi have been seen by most movie buffs and are considered classics or at least awesome movies by most people.

Unfortunately, nobody has seen Hotarubis movies. :( I am adding what I can in netflix, though. For someone, especially Hota, to put 10 movies forward as 10 to vote for or against, they must be excellent caliber movies.

Add One Hundred and One Nights. I have an inkling nobody has seen it here, but I had to put it on my list. Great film.
