Thanks to viveks86 for the steps from the screenshot thread. Thanks also to skyzard for posting in this thread

Step 1: Use the in-game pause menu whenever you want to freeze time
Step 2: Enter testpause in console. This will freeze the game even if you exit the menu
Step 3: Press F1 to enter free cam mode
Step 4: Move freely using gamepad (left analog for movement, right analog for rotation, d-pad for fov and yaw, Y & A for elevation. Hold left trigger for accelerated movement. It's fully analog as well, so gives great camera control. WASD keyboard shortcuts work as well and R does tilt, but I don't know the other keys yet.
Step 5: Take screenshots like you normally would.
Step 6: Disable free cam using F1
Step 7: Enter testunpause in console to resume game

I set it up in antimicro to macro it all and cycle between it with the xbox home key and it's just so nice for taking screenshots!
The controls are great and it's all with the xbone pad.

Don't forget to add a "pause" (not delay) after each input when doing the macro.
I also set a leftstick to toggle the minimap with a macro as dlgshow won't let you play HUDless, it keeps you locked in position, not the best fix but it'll do with my hud settings.

[*]How to remove the constant "Gamepad/Keyboard detected" pop-up.

http://www.reddit.com/r/witcher/comments/36ooow/fix_how_to_remove_the_constant_gamepadkeyboard

Open \The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base\hidden.ini

Change "LockControlScheme=" to "LockControlScheme=2".

Save, right-click, make file read only, apply, done.

Also add that line to your Documents/Username/Witcher 3/user.settings file under the the "[Hidden]" header.

Save, right-click, make file read only, apply, done.

Note that making "user.settings" read-only makes it so you need to uncheck it every time you want to change and save an options setting in The Witcher 3.

  • Witcher 3, easy way take screenshots without the HUD

http://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comm...s_without_the/

This works for quite a few games and not sure if someone has posted before but I wanted to let people know since I'm sure quite a lot of us would want to create a Witcher 3 screenshot album. Din't find the option to eliminate the HUD in the options so this method works.

So all you need to do is hit select and instantly hit the xbox button twice and then 'Y' to grab a screenshot. There is small delay before the in game menu actually appears and for a second the HUD also disappears so that's the golden moment to take your shot.

  • Simple solution for QUICK SAVE on GAMEPAD for PC: (I use this and it works great)

- download antimicro (it maps gamepad keys to keyboard; opensource free)
https://github.com/Ryochan7/antimicro/releases

- set xbox guide button to F5

  • [Fix] Force Surround Audio (if your W3 stuck in Stereo, this makes it surround)
http://forums.cdprojektred.com/thre...this-makes-it-surround)?p=1680366#post1680366

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7uM...=youtu.be&hd=1

It modifies the directx audio files so its not a specific fix for withcer 3. Reportedly, it fixed many other games beside witcher 3 and it was made not for witcher 3. But it works for witcher 3. I modified the script a bit to make it works on relative path*

The maker also said that it makes Watch Dogs mute.

pardon my english.

*the original script need the files to be extracted on root of C:\ and without sub dir.

Not a mod but a tip

  • "You can store your items in any house and they will never dissapear. For example,
I killed the witch and I drop off my items in her house now. It's essentially my house"

Map
  • Hold the start button down on the gamepad to bring up the map

EDFX makes the graphics “more realistic” as you can see from the sample shots below (more can be found on the EDFX page). There is quite a difference and they do look a little more “realistic” when you examine the lighting.

The good news for anyone tinkering with the utility is that it can also be tested with other games thanks to the ability to <Add 32bit Game> or <Add 64bit Game> options that are included in the latest version.

EDFX EnhanceD FX Graphics is available here and it’s worth a look if you’re not satisfied with The Witcher 3 lighting. If you do grab the file, make sure you check the included ReadMe files so you understand how this functions.

Better combat mod
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/167/?

A sample of some of the changes. More at the link

General:

Increased damage of enemies on normal and above difficulties; slightly for normal, moderately for broken bones and greatly for death march.
Increased enemies' resistances reductions for death march and added them to broken bones difficulty too.
Increased roll and parrying stamina delay

Reasons for these changes:

Death March should be an hardcore mode, but it is not so difficult in vanilla and as far as broken bones, well, that's as normal difficulty in Witcher 2. With these changes the two modes, especially DM, should be much more difficult. Incoming changes to enemies strength based on threat level will consolidate this increase in overall difficulty of the game.
Roll spamming is not penalized enough in the default game and parrying is too cheap. I don't want to add a base stamina cost to these actions (so as not to change the gameplay dynamics too much) but I wanted the two actions to have a little more cost as far as stamina goes.

Disable intro and storybooks and load in to the game faster

I'm downloading the encumbrance increase mod right away. I'm constantly having to manage what I have and it's annoying to try to get rid of since there is no way to sort your inventory by weight

Whhhaaat?

Mods out for this already? And graphical mods at that. Mighty nice.

Are there screenshots showing difference?

Ok so I install the Hunter config thing and now my game wont launch at all? I have deleted the file from my Witcher 3 folder and it still won't open the game. Nothing happens at all!

Any ideas?

This is why MODS put me off I should have just left the game as is!

I'd love a mod or I I tweak that greatly shortens the distance at which NPC names appear over their heads. It'd be nice just to see the names when I'm close enough to interact. Anyone know of anything like that?

so..is that sweetfx thing easy enough that a nob can use it without messing up the game?

the most i've done is modding skyrim with mod organizer :p

I've been playing with SweetFX since D1, and i love it, but i'm wary of gameplay mods, i'm not sure yet where the game is or isn't unbalanced.
I could do without weight limit though, that's just annoying.

well it isn't that far in the game where you start increasing your storage..and if you regularly sell or disassemble what you don't need, you are not gonna have problems...i have like 50/130 storage ATM and i still pick pretty much everything i find

I just find that part sort of tedious, not a huge deal, but i just don't find it a fun or compelling part of the "gameplay cycle", so to speak.
If they patched out the weight tomorrow, i wouldn't care one bit.

Excellent. Playing on B&BB and I like the difficulty but the drip fed XP felt like a chore. Upped it to Monster:Quest 3:3 and it feels much more reasonable.

Thanks for sharing these.

Will there be mod tools? I'd love to see a vibrant modding community with RedEngine3.

CDPR said they will be releasing the mod tools after release, and "sooner than they were available for Witcher 2." It took two years for Witcher 2's to come out, so...

I hope that one day we'll get a mod that will keep Geralt's hair from blowing nonsensically inside of houses.

They'll probably patch it, it's not nearly every house. I'm sure they just forgot to apply a "no wind" flag to the region bounded by certain houses, or something like that.

How much crap are you guys hoarding to need that weight limit mod?

With the saddlebags from Novigrad, I can hold up to 130lbs, but usually only have around 50 on me.

Sell all the shitty armor/weapons, food, books, and random junk.

That's what I'm wondering. Holy shit I always felt like I could carry way more than was humanly (witcherly?) possible, even with saddle bags.

Glad this weight mod came out, I was holding close to 1000 pounds at one point. I grab literally everything I see . It was annoying having to sell that much shit though

I'm guessing they pick up all the Rusted Swords/Maces/Blackjacks that human enemies drop.

Or they never sell their old equipment. I don't see how else you could need more than 100lbs.

Just need a mod to change the xbox buttons to playstation ones and I'll be happy. I can't imagine that would be a hard one to do, but I don't know where to start.

I don't loot everything. I only loot abandoned buildings and monster lairs. My Geralt isn't some random Bethesda character that is a chaotic, bipolar demigod. Geralt wouldn't be looting peoples' shit.

Now I'm getting interested. Luckily I didn't buy it for PS4 because I thought my system couldn't play it with 4 gigs ram. Mods make the world go round.

Any mods for stopping lost durability? Playing on Death March and I often tackle quests higher then me and man my silver sword constantly needs repairs from hitting high level creatures/witcher contracts.

I wanted to ask, is this mod safe to use? Like I wont get any virus on my computer, or it wont affect my computer in any negative way if I download it.
