I'm on vacation in the U.S. for the summer and I brought along my Nintendo Switch with the hope of finally digging into Zelda. Once I got here, I also decided to pick up ARMS on the eshop. Since I only have one set of joy cons, I thought I'd grab another so that I might do some multiplayer with my nephews. Unfortunately, the only joy cons I could track down in stores were the charcoal (which I already have), and those god-awful yellow ones. While searching online to find a cheap source for a red/blue set, I ended up coming across some customs. Flash forward to today and I've spent nearly $300 on custom joy cons.
First up was this right joycon modded with colored New 3DS buttons.
I love the Super Famicom color scheme, and bought a standard sized New 3DS basically just to have those buttons, so as soon as I saw this, I jumped on it.
Since I only purchased a single joy con, I still needed a full set for multiplayer. Still unable to track down official Nintendo colors, I found some other places that do custom paint jobs. After watching a video review https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GZJnTmwsioA of some of Doyle's Customs, I ended up ordering these babies from his Etsy shop:
I have been playing my childhood SNES at my parent's house in the States, so—though I now prefer the Super Famicom style—these induced some nostalgia. Still waiting for them as they take four to six weeks. They also are available with the grip:
I've also seen a Gamecube purple set which I considered, and may pick up eventually.
Has anybody else gone the custom route after being unable to track down official joycon colors? Post what you've got.
If you're interested in jumping in, here are a few links to get you started:

Edit: I guess Etsy links are prohibited as the one I posted here has mysteriously disappeared. I do apologize.
