Honestly, Shigematsu shouldn't be taken down that easily... even if Toriko got stronger. Unless the power up is so huge that he's now close to Midora's level, that would be a letdown

For all we know Shige might of blocked it with one of his arms and then ripped that arm off of his body in order to prevent further damage

So I posted these thoughts sometime ago in the manga thread but it seems more logical to place it here

So I want to just clarify a misunderstanding about the 4 Beast arc in Toriko being addressed in the latest chapter (292)...

So it is confirmed in Toriko 292 that the Nitro created the 4 Beast in order to capture and enslave humanity....

In the end of the 4 Beast Arc we see that the humans that where "eaten" by the 4 Beast are still alive....
Which NOW makes sense seeing as the purpose of the 4 Beast to begin with was to act like a vessel in order to transport humans to the nitro

It wasn't planning on killing the humans to begin with!

pretty cool how that small thing was addressed later on

I'm a bit disappointed in Shigematsu being done away so easily.
I mean in the gourmet festival arc he was supposed to be a whole tier above the 4 kings, along the likes of Mansam and just below Acacia's disciples level.
Expecially considering that Joa's "cooking" is supposed to give a power up - in this, Teppei is also a bit underwhelming since he used to be far stronger than Toriko.

But I'm nitpicking. I love this manga. The quest for PAIR / Komatsu's revival is going be thrilling. They'll have to work without his incredible food luck this time.

We didn't even see him do one move with his power released.... we where teased in the Mammoth arc, teased again recently but nope guys got to die

yeah the Gum Gum abilities made me laugh

I remember one of the translation sites addressed the Pear thing saying that they aren't certain if there are two separate identities... as in "Pair" is the Nitro and "Pear" is the Soup



Seeing as this is Acacia's Soup I hope it actually has a bigger flavour effect on them... Since when you really look at it (crazy power up effects aside) "Air" is just one gigantic leaf fruit/ lettuce salad so its flavour isn't likely its strongest point

I also hope we will see other foods in as much detail in the Gourmet World besides Acacia's full course.... Of course not right now though since Komatsu is dying and what not

Toriko historically has a pace. When I see people complain about the pace I take it as they're scare of their favorite series what last long. AIR Arc is 21 chapters current. Here are all the arcs so far:

The pacing adds to the sense of thrills but occasionally we miss some stuff like that Big Maze... Then again Mitsotoshi like to address previous stuff in later chapters

I just don't want Toriko to end anytime soon (love this series)

Plus after this Gourmet World Adventure... Space is likely the next stop (unless they go underground but I believe that will happen when they are looking for one of Acacia's main course ingredient)

Neo made a "Arc" Spaceship for themselves.... Chef Zhaos said they where planning to go "beyond", there is a Demon that eats Stars, and Acacia's likely left into outer space to find new ingredients

Could see Deep Sea/ Deep Earth (Magma and what not) when retrieving "Core"
Likely they'll see the other dimension or some form of it in the next arc...

We got to remember the passage ways that Mappy talked about that connects each continent... likely the first one they'll encounter on their way to Area 7 is the Mountain range without any oxygen

The other could be the Soul based one seeing as Pair is connected to some dimensional stuff

Since Humans currently either have Gourmet Cells injected into them or are born with them....
Either the Asteroid that hit them gave them this ability first or the injection and/or the food has some form of Nitro DNA in them...

What I mean is that the Meteorite and the Nitro have some connection somehow.... For all we know the Nitro likely came to the Earth via that Meteorite...

Plus when Toriko and Zebra fought that ancient Nitro... the Nitro copied Toriko's nail punch just by getting hit by it

Me too! It's worth tons of flashback chapters by itself

I'm also curios about how does the Nitro society work. It's a given that the Red Nitro are sort of servants/peasants while the Blue Nitro are the "main" force (same colors as Toriko's demons...mmmm)

Blue Nitro maybe a few but they are called "The Gourmet Nobles" for a reason

We know that the Nitro had some sophisticate civilizations back in the day... Like the Gourmet Pyramid being part of a Palace...
Plus the cookbook that Neo/Joa wants and the other ruins all are very interesting

So I was looking at some pages from the Toriko databook and there is a page which shows off the Toriko world

It seems that Area 8 was the smallest area in the Gourmet world... It is around the same size as a average continent in Toriko's human world....

Plus a large chunk of that Area in the middle is the raining plains like the laser rain, etc...

Area 7 looks massive in comparison with Area 4 being roughly the same size


Surprisingly Area 2 is lots of islands that roughly form some time of sideways oval... I wonder what King Beast roams there
Also Area 1 is in the middle of Area 2

Well that entrance way (after climbing up the valley to the other side) is connected to Area 7!

So when Toriko was running around with Komatsu in that place and never got the snot beaten out of him we now know that it was due to Monkey Kings Bambinas rules of the jungle (as in no hunting allowed without consent)
