I certainly didn't expect Mount Rushmore to be so... small
Woah. My mind is blown.
I certainly didn't expect Mount Rushmore to be so... small
Okay I only briefly passed by as I got into the city. I'll check it out tomorrow. Most of the city does smell of piss though. Guess a lot of major cities have that in common.
Also, Reality:
Still looking cute as fuck.
I live in the Niagara Region. Whenever tv/movies show Niagara Falls, this is what you see:
When in reality, it is much more like this:

Las Vegas as you imagine it:
Las Vegas when you actually get there:
Oh, and that sign isn't near the strip either.
The cost on the card is just to get the girl to your hotel room. The actual menu is way overpriced.
wait what?

Currently travelling through Europe and this is what the Colosseum in Rome actually looks like:
I am not amused.
That might be because the first picture is the superior Canadian side and the second picture is the shitty US side. The Canadian side pretty much looks the same as pictures.
Last time I went, there was that ride where you go up and down really fast. Is it still there? What is it called?Isn't the amusement park on the Canadian side though?

You think of this right? Surrounded by desert, exotic, far away from anything. It's not about it being a 'shitty perspective' as another poster said. But the reality of what these places look like isn't the same as what the photos portray..
OP could've at least picked a more humorously contrasting picture of the pyramids:
------
Did you really think the pyramids were some hidden treasure for you to discover after a week trekking through the desert led by your bedouin guides?
Anyone taking these "idealized" pictures were about 1/2 a second away of some other shithead about to step into frame to take the same shot.
I certainly didn't expect Mount Rushmore to be so... small
Thanks! It's on the Canadian side. It's called Temptations. Ask for Cinnamon.

The top is the horeshoe falls and the one bellow is the american falls, there are two falls.I live in the Niagara Region. Whenever tv/movies show Niagara Falls, this is what you see:

Exactly that basically. I didn't even realise that niagra falls had a casino overlooking it, from everything i've ever seen of it, it looks like its far away from any sort of civilisation.
Trevi Fountain, Italy.

Other than a few that are indeed "ouch" (Taj Mahal and uh... little else), I find that most of the zoomed out pics to look even more awe-inspiring. The pics for Niagara Falls, the Parthenon, Mount Rushmore, Arc de Triomphe, Santorini and Paris all look amazing and jaw-dropping. So, this page has the reverse effect, lol.
I think that looks kinda fun. Maybe because I've actually travelled before (sorry if that comes across as condescending but seriously, what did you expect?), but this doesn't shock me at all.Currently travelling through Europe and this is what the Colosseum in Rome actually looks like:

Interesting. I've want to go to Italy for a long time, but I never thought my health would be better there. For my perpetually clogged sinuses, Ecuador was the best country in the world. Wwhether it was the Galapagos, Quito, or the rainforest along the Napo river, I didn't sneeze at all the whole time... so amazing, when I sneeze daily everywhere else because of my allergies. That's awesome. It's a near 2000 year old building in the middle of a bustling modern city. Also, they're just doing renovations.
Man I miss Italy. Best my sinuses have felt anywhere in the world.
Ok, this one does hurt. :|
