Trump can now loot millions of dollars from the Secret Service with no disclosure

How are they free to say no? They cannot say no to providing Secret Service detail to the candidates, they cannot say no to paying for accommodations for said Secret Service. If Hillary stays at a Marriott, they cannot force the Marriott to give them free accommodations or not pay charges that Marriott charges them for other fees. If Trump stays at a Trump hotel, the same rules apply, just that the money gets paid to a subsidiary of the Trump Organization.

They have no say in what airplane they fly in, etc.? Seems like a flawed system.

So you are missing the point entirely then.

Thanks for the clarification.

Please enlighten me

They're a protection detail, they fly alongside the people to whom they're assigned. Now the people they protect are choosing to fly a plane owned by themselves, and have the SS pay them for it. This isn't rocket surgery.

The candidate/president dictates where they go. If Obama wants to make a big speech outdoors, the Secret Service does not say "No", they need to set up snipers everywhere and metal detectors and screeners for the people that will watch.

Think about any other country and consider if it is a flawed system if the head of state must get permission from the security forces to go or stay anywhere.

The point of the Executive One designation is that the President can also still fly on civilian aircraft if he chooses. Nixon flew on a United Airlines flight, which received the Executive One designation. Nelson Rockefeller flew in his own plane as VP, and Al Gore flew on a USAirways flight--these flights received a Executive Two designation. Trump can still choose to fly on his planes as president.

Um... can someone explain to me why this guy needs to make more money? Doesn't he already have everything he could possibly want? Same for this family.

That's just how a lot of these people work. You can never have too much money, especially if there are others who have more.
