Brexit was not a result of fear and hate. Brexit was a result of the complete incompetence of the EU parliament. I still can not believe how Juncker still has the Position he is in right now. Brexit also happens when things are getting worse for the normal population while politicians just do not care.

And yes also a lot has to do with immigration policies which really needs to be regulated. Honestly I do not mind for example that 22.5% of the people in Germany have a migrant background. I think its great however we need a better selection. We need better immigration laws and we need them soon. Or you really will see what kind of hate this will cause in the whole EU. Many countries are already at their limit and their last choice or hope is that voting for a very rightwing party will solve these issues....

Maybe that's why you voted for it, but talk to any Brexit supporter (not many left online) and read their sources and it's definitely fear and hatred - especially of things they don't understand, like the EU. Assuming you're German how successful has Merkel's immigration been in the last 2 years? Because the left seems to think that being against uncontrolled immigration is a somewhat outstanding opinion to have when the reality is its not popular in any developed nation, I've yet to here an argument as to why controlled immigration is a bad thing beside "muh diversity".

I personally don't want governments telling people who is allowed in or out of a country. It's always come across as authoritarian to me.

Examples: The St.Louis being refused to land and being sent back to Europe. Or the recent North Korean soldier who escaped from Socialist Paradise™ to cross directly into South Korea with no border walls in place.

Of course, what happens to immigrants when they come to another country is another story. Again, this is why I oppose welfare. If you really want to build a new life yourself, prove it and find a job. But if you immigrate and just ask for welfare checks, sorry but you gotta leave.

Left here but I think both Parties need to be cleaned out and have some new blood in there. I'm Anti Gun, All for Universal Healthcare, I believe in Global Warming but would hate to give up my car, I hate how animals are raised to be eaten, yet I love myself some Carne Asado or Pollo Asada, I am not religious at all but I find myself going to Buddhist Temples and praying. I am against using Marijuana myself yet i'm not against others using it for health reasons..... I guess I should change my Left Lean to just confused lol.

Politics in general really are a touchy subject as we all have so many different views and I want to say that I understand others viewpoints but some are just so ignorant to me to even believe that people can have that opinion.. I guess some can say the same as mine though.

But what would they have to gain from doing that?

I remember when Trump voters were asked on GAF why did they vote, many said it was because they wanted gun rights, lower taxes, smaller government or were very Evangelical.

Very rarely if at all did I ever see race brought up as the reason they jumped to Trump.
