As much as we all agree on this, you know we will still all be sitting in front of our televisions on Oscar night and bitching about the "winners." Basically, the Oscars are all about Hollywood patting itself on the back, and not much else.

Gotta say that the 80s choices were mostly terrible outside of Platoon. Ever since 1990 they have done reasonably well in picking movies with appeal. 1977 still remains a travesty however.

Overall Braveheart would be my number one choice. Followed closely by Gladiator, Titanic, Dances with Wolves, and then Unforgiven.
