What was your favorite game that year? 1997 edition.


To continue this series, I'll be going 10 years back now. At this point, the PS360Wii were out, and the PS2 still got a couple of big releases (Persona 3 and God of War II). The Nintendo DS and PSP were the main handhelds.

2007 was incredible. Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime, Rock Band, Ace Attorney, Portal, Pokémon, WarioWare...

Mario Galaxy is my favorite though. One of the greatest games ever made.

Probably a PSP title, as it was my main gaming device in those days.

2007 was such a great year. Super Mario Galaxy is possibly my favorite game of all time so no question which I think is the best.

If it had not released in that year picking my favorite would have been a hell of a lot harder.

Super Mario Galaxy released six months after I got married and is a very special game to me because of that. My wife and I had a great time playing through it together.

I'd say Mass Effect, but I played that on PC in 2008.

So probably Mario Galaxy (though I didn't enjoy it as much as Mario 64 and probably even Sunshine). Uncharted is the weakest of the 2007+ ND games, but that deserves an honorable mention too (though didn't play it until 2012).

I saw Forza 2 at a friend's house on his 360 and how easy it was to have multiplayer races and I was blown away.

Saved up and bought a 360 with Forza 2 a while later.

God what an insane year. I'd have the put Call of Duty: Modern Warfare up top though, it was such a revelation both in it's incredible single player and its multiplayer.

Mario Galaxy, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock and Portal are all pretty close though.

I think going by hours it was Pokémon Diamond & Pearl. I put something like 1000+ hours into the game. Bioshock 1 or COD 4 are the true champions for me though.
