looking at these screenshots.. I'm really enjoying the color palette so far.
dat grey brownish mud
and it kinda looks really ugly

will probably get this game though
just not for full price

It's better in motion. If they took the time to use better textures and up the resolution for the WiiU version to 720p it would look a whole lot better than does. 360 and ps3 versions will look the same. It sucks it took new consoles for them to try and push for a higher resolution.

Does the game auto-post achievements/accomplishments to Miiverse?

Arkham Origins and Deus Ex have this feature which I'm hoping is starting a trend ...

Man, those screens are ugly.

Do the PS3/360 versions look the same?

Still going to pick this up. Co-op looks fun and off tv is a nice bonus as well as pointer controls. That and there is zero other options if you want to play FPS on the Wii U.

The wolves look so bad lol. Still going to get the game on WiiU, but damn it's certainly not looking good, even compared to BO2. Then again, I doubt the 360/PS3/WiiU version got anywhere near the attention that the next gen versions did.

Still, unless the PS4 version supports Move, there's no question in my mind about which version I'll get.

It's a tad surprising to me that they didn't spend as much time on the 360/PS3 versions since the game is still likely to sell the most copies on those platforms (higher install base). I guess they really are trying to push people to upgrade their consoles.

Most likely ps360 will be just as ugly since the wiiu version is a port of those.

Really whats the point when peoole buy it anyway. Maybe the cod fad will die with this game and next gen.

Looking at screenshots of a CoD game does´nt do anyone any good i tell y'all

Its the 60fps that is the hook of the game...And also single player campaigns are really lackluster in CoDs due to the checkpoints and infinite spawning of enemies.

After seeing more of these screens, it is obviously just a straight port from current gen. Any effort made otherwise was just blind hope.

Yep, looks like a straight port of the 360 version I'm thinking. Kinda disappointing to look at when you've been playing WW HD and TW101. Sure it's fun though, will still consider a purchase since I'm holding off on PS4.

It's a shame they didn't put more work into it as I'm quite certain Wii U can do better than this.

So many jaggies.

This is from a guy who normally has trouble seeing them.
I'm still on board though, I play with my wife and the same room co-op definitely makes it worth it. Once it's fun, who cares about anything else.

It really does seem like they actually downgraded the engine from Black Ops 2 to Ghosts.
Black Ops 2 was actually a very pretty game. But this is looking rough as hell.
Here's a few I took in the WiiU Screen thread of BO2.

Not the most technical game, but it at least seems to have better lighting.

I played the CoDs on the Wii, 60fps is a plus already. :)

Ditto. The Wii CODs were generally pretty decent considering the underpowered system, but I'm amazed how many people here genuinely seemed to believe this version was somehow going to be definitive among the systems with current gen power.

The Wii U probably has the extra little power to one up over current consoles but no way would it show in a COD port.

Could it also be because BO2 was created by Treyarch and they knew how by default how to tweak it for Wii U properly, but since this is a port of IW's game they have more work to do changes? I dunno.

I would highly expect Treyarch's next game (2014 naturally) to look much better on Wii U... if it even shows up...

Treyarch are the Nintendo hardware specialists at Activision. There's no reason for them to botch this port.

Unless they were given the green light at the last possible second so they could only cover the bare minimum. At least they can be trusted to carry over the Wiimote controls every time.

While it won't be mega-pretty, in case some here don't know, browser shots are JPEGs and rarely do justice to any game. It'll be way better spinning on the real thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't has many of the improvements that might be present on the 360 version. As in Treyarch just had the resources to import the assets to their Wii u code and little else.

in fact they aren't botching the port. this ghost receive critics for its graphic in ANY thread, unless the resolution war arose for ps4 vs xbone recently...

Said before but I'm going to really need to see video of how this game looks in motion. It could very well look like this in stills but in motion the whole thing might look better. This is an Infinity Ward game though. I remember when Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 (ported by Treyarch) both released on the Wii. BO1 actually looked better I felt at the time because of the Treyarch's art direction, etc compared to the direction Infinity Ward went in. Black Ops 2 was unusually colorful as well for a Call of Duty game. Then again BO1 had a bright look to it as well. So a step back from that might not show well.

It's arguable that Treyarch is the better of the two now and have been for some time and that's just showing here when you compare it with BO2. The tech Treyarch has might simply be better all around. Or maybe of Treyarch is just phoning this in.

Did anyone seriously expect anything other than a current gen port? I mean, c'mon.

Yes, it would have actually been easier for Treyarch to down port from the PS4 or One given the similar console architecture. A bit of an odd decision imo. They could have at least done some extra work with the textures even porting from the 360 SKU.

I'll be getting it. Been playing CoD on Nintendo home consoles since MW:R. CoD games are amazing with Wii pointer controls. Never going back to dual analog again.

I'm getting it.

If this may be the last holiday some of these 3rd parties are thinking of supporting the console, I'm not letting it go out without putting up a fight.

Also I trust Treyarch to do a good job and pointer controls are my second favorite console FPS set up after gyro controls.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks these aren't that bad. I don't necessarily think it looks worse than BO2. We'll have to see it in motion.

A_Trey_U said they've been working on the port since "early" this year. It didn't get greenlit in July or anything insane like that.

I just watched some 360 ghosts MP footage and that one looks pretty much good enough in motion. really curious to see the differences of each version

for anyone interested:
look up the CoD: BO2 |OT|, theres a guy who shared some footage on his yt channel

and be surprised. cuz it looks like current gen CoD

And Activision is not confirming future DLC until you buy Call of Duty: Ghosts. Everyone goes home in tears. :D

There will be a large number of other great games like Super Mario 3D World or Assassin`s Creed IV released on the Nintendo WiiU ;)

Thinking about going to Gamestop for the midnight launch while I'm in Hawaii. It'll be my last night on the island and would be cool to go to a midnight launch before I go. I'll pick up the game while I'm there, too.

Just saw the 360 clips. Looks fine and acceptable unlike BF4 (the comparisons are going to be made as soon as the game releases) which looks like a damn mess on the PS3/360. Not omg amazing but never was going to be a huge graphical showcase. CoD never really is in the end I think Sacrifices are always made so that the multiplayer runs, hopefully, without issues. More of a game where the graphics just need to be good enough. This is why the game still was enjoyable on the Wii. After a certain point they don't matter as long as they don't get in the way of you actually playing.

So if the Wii U version at the very least looks just like the 360 version then okay. The game looks fine in motion and that's really want I wanted to see. However if Treyarch has worked on it for a while then there might be some improvements that just aren't being seen from the stills.

I'm still in for my purchase. Hope we get the Free Fall map at the very least if no other DLC will be available for purchase.

I forgot to say playing on the gamepad makes the game look 10x better since the resolution of game is higher than the screen. No jaggies.

Haven't bought or played a cod since mw2. Plan on picking this up for Wii U when I buy the system sometime before Christmas. Main attraction is the free online but also like the local multiplayer and gamepad/controller options. Reading this also indicates I might not get my usual 1/2 k/d ratio!

I just gave a shot to Black Ops II once again, didn't play since launch and I'm only lvl 18.

It felt good, entertaining, though even if there only was 1,200 players I found a couple of full lobbies to have fun...Now I'm tempted to buy Ghost. Plus It'll surely have way more people online since way more people have a Wii U since launch.

I was tempted to get this on Wii U...but man, some of these screenshots are really hideous.

Like I mentionned earlier, browser shots from the Wii U reduces the IQ a lot, it's all JPEGs for starters.

feel sorry for that dev on twitter he is getting an onslaught of questions and negative comments. he is trying to talk the game up. again i have the game preordered and will enjoy it but he is trying to claim this wasnt a port and built around Wii U strenghts.

As I said before, this game might be a half assed port. But we don't have enough info yet to either confirm/deny that.

Based on a few screenshots everyone seems so sure it's worse than BO2. I doubt that'll end up being the case ultimately.

The later stages start to look better than the earlier ones. It's a jag fest though, I've played all the other cod an out of them all mw3 an now this one look the jaggiest and have the lackluster textures to me . It's no fault to the wii u, it's on the devs for just doing a straight port of current gen. I'm playing the rest of the game on the gamepad because it hides a lot of that. You'll see for yourself in 48 hours. They did current gen an wii u no favors.

If so then the others may be in worser condition, we'll see soon.

Kinda wonder if it might be like Skylanders Swap-Force by Vicarious Visions. Last year's Giants was a quick port (of a Wii main version) and they managed to make it 1080p.

This year, Swap's main version is HD (360?), yet the game is subHD (across all platforms apparently...except PS4 and XO). But the overall game still manages to look stunning and has tons of visual effects (plus upscales nicely on Wii U). It is the best looking and playing game of the series.

What I've seen so far is on par with what I expected. Plus this one apparently has a lot more going on (like the collapsing stages/buildings, etc.).

Even Black Ops II first mission looked quite bad...then the second one in the future with the rain and lightning effects looked really good.

Guess in less than 48 hours we'll know.
Picking my copy after work at 1am.
