It is marketing. They have advertising deals. In the end I doubt they will hold back on doing their best for XBox, but you cannot say that while you have a deal with the competition. And I bet said games are going to put more resources into the Sony platform because of these marketing deals. But I also doubt whoever is working on the XBox versions is going to dial it down.
Who knows though with all this bull shit. I would not be surprised to see exclusive 4K or 60 fps versions of games become payed exclusives.
The company with the exclusive marketing deal is probably going to put more effort into the console with 60 million users over the console with 30 million. But no matter what Sony pays to make it their game, if the game simply works better on the the more powerful console, would they downgrade it for Xbox owners?
