Whoever is in charge of the stream make sure this is the intro music to all E3 presentations. It's an absolute must.
Man, now all I want is a new Chrystal Chronicles like the original one (without the bullshit multiplayer)

The Orchestra was fucking terrible. The Wii U reveal was miserable. I wish I could flash my memory and make this year the full, true reveal, the point where I don't even know what the controller looks like. I think (hope) they'll get it right last year, but last year was weirdly undercooked. Like they were stretching limited info and substance over far too much time.
The orchestra was awesome though.
All I remember from Sony's is the painfully obvious plants, and I don't remember Microsoft's at all.
Last year was terrible.
The initial Kinect video with Milo and scanning in the skateboard could have been possible I suppose if they hadn't downgraded the tech of the Kinect from their original plans.
Still can't believe how sharp that touchscreen looks. So bright, so colourful.

Nintendo doesn't seem inclined to hunt for exclusive content, just for exclusive games. If anyone were to come out on stage it would be someone from EA like last year or Ubisoft.
The Orchestra was fucking terrible.
I'm trying to picture your avatar in leather pants.
YES actually, because the same audience wouldn't want the same activities in one context but would enjoy them in another. You mean like them using Wii Sports Resort games in Zelda? Little too late by then.
Oh, there's also ustream.tv. I know that one of the benefits of this one is that you can apparently save some of the live bits so people can watch later. Not important for playing something half a decade old, but I am wondering if justin.tv allows for the same functionality.
I think I've watched one or two Nintendo conferences on ustre---
!!!!
Ustream! U!!!
Okay, I vote you put Nintendo's conference videos on the U stream.
I don't think that they've been a position where securing exclusive content was possible. It really just became a big deal this generation when DLC became popular. Full title exclusives on consoles have become pretty rare. So we just see companies battling it out to secure exclusive DLC or timed exclusive DLC.
I can't see them getting any sort of exclusive period with GTA5. There's just too much money sitting there on the PS3 and 360 for Rockstar to ignore. But if they pulled it off it would be one of the biggest announcements that i've seen in this industry. I think it would almost instantly change their image for some gamers.
It was pretty awesome to Zelda like that I get chills everytime I watch it regardless if it was a demo video or whatever.Smash was a sort of surprise, but not HD Zelda. Remember Spaceworld 2000?
Still a shame it's not multi-touch.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough but I mean some game that is fan service. You know, something to get the fans all hyped to the max and drooling. It would obviously have to have profit potential to be developed.fun fact: the gamecube version sold the worst.
Oh please don't go thereSmash was a sort of surprise, but not HD Zelda. Remember Spaceworld 2000?

I know. I'm sure you've seen the DPI comparisons but something > than the iPad one is fine by me!

As I've said before, wait for the Nyko Subscreen Pro.I still hate the pad. So much. Button placement looks awful. Pads instead of analogue sticks. Jesus christ.

E3 2011:
+ The Orchestra Opening (The fact that it was one of the highlights of the WHOLE E3 tells how boring it was overall.)
+ The Zelda HD Demo
+ Luigi's Mansion 2
+ Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS
- Padding (I mean talking about Pokédex 3D, really?)
- Botched Wii U Reveal
- Not a whole lot of new software
I hope Shinen makes a FAST sequel on Wii U, preferably retail but by now I know it just isn't that likely at all.
I like just how damn close it is to Wpieout, hell I didn't touch one until I played the Vita game at a demo station and went "damn, FAST really is like Wipeout".
And just look at what Shinen pulled off:

Brawl was announced in the same manner.Anyone else felt like the Smash Bros Wii U/3DS announcement was out of place at this show? At that point development hadn't even started yet.
You and me both. Luckily it's not the final design

Brawl was announced in the same manner.
Sakurai wasn't even with Nintendo.
What if you could disable tripping?
Man, I think brawl gets way too much hate. My 3 big gripes with it are poor online, tripping, and broken meta-knight. Everything else was pretty boss.
Don't be so sure...
It won't change. That would make too much sense.
You're certainly right the opportunities haven't been there. I just have an inkling any exclusive content will have to do with the controller functionality not some substantial exclusive DLC or timed exclusive DLC. The functionality will be nice, but the controller is the selling feature of the console, not the graphics like 360 or PS3. Developers should utilize it especially since the screen will be easier to work with than waggle.I don't think that they've been a position where securing exclusive content was possible. Wasn't Brawl announced with a trailer though?
I guess they just do it do extremely early generate hype, in which case it worked pretty damn well.

the worst thing about the pad is the design of the sliders themselves. tiny little nubs that have a sharp grip instead of the smooth one that's on the 3ds.

The original announcement was in 2005
This something I've worried about quite a bit since they revealed the controller.i've come around a bit. sticks on a flat surface would have felt weird, so the top would have needed to have some sort of curve or something. buttons do look weird.

It's like all they originally had was a tablet, then realised at the last minute they probably need sticks and buttons, and threw them on the sides.
...
And no matter how many people tell me the pads feel different to the 3DS, I cant have faith in them. Not until I try it for myself, and am sold on pads over sticks.
Considering he just finished Kid Icarus not long ago cross your fingers for a CG video at least.Oh okay. I expect a trailer this E3 then. Get on it Sakurai.

Those I've spoken to who went to E3 2011 said it was quite comfortable to hold, which I expect as Nintendo makes comfy controllers. But christ, that button placement. It looks so bad and awkward.

It's seriously the most bafflingly unappealing Nintendo controller I've ever seen. And I like the touch pad / screen concept. But all I think when I see that is "god I hope all the good Wii U games use the superior and wonderful Wii Remote + Nunchuck".
I know we have some peeps from GAF go to E3...
Yes, this too. The nunchuck has proper grip, but not the 3DS, and it's horrible. This too looks horrible. No grip! NO GRIP!
Based on how many times I replayed the E3 2006 video, that'd be enough for me as well. A CD video seems most likely.Considering he just finished Kid Icarus not long ago cross your fingers for a CG video at least. That would be enough for me.
I'd like to see a modular controller, like one of the 3DS prototypes:
That way we could place the Dpad/Sticks/buttons where we wanted to depending on the game being played.
