If the connection is to the outer circle then the person "is let go" or is fired (manafort page epshtyn lewandowski flynn etc).

True, but it would help further invalidate the bullshit hypocrisy supporters on the "religious right" whom hold elected officials accountable for not being puritan ideologues. Granted, Trump has already proven well beyond the bounds of this, but it's still that much harder to character assassinate opposition during elections if they also publicly condone the contents of the pee tape.

At the very least watching them squirm while weighing the internal dilemma between their supposed principles against their guilty party would make for good theatrics.
