Xbox Live / Microsoft Down (Australia)?

Eppy Thatcher

God's had his chance.
Just had a server guy here at work walk in and chuckle about all these sites down.

instantly half my team checks like 9 different websites. Poor MS....

Wonder if it's deliberate by MS to ease in the XB1, or if it's a DOS attack? The latter would be REALLY shitty for everyone involved...

Oh that explains why i can't log in to xbl. Seems like a ddos. Hope that offline updating thing gets put back up :p

More importantly, work tomorrow will be a laugh as we use 365.

How can one ddos 300000 servers?!

I don't think they would deliberately take down xbox.com the day before launch.

xbox.com is down for me (I'm in the U.S.):

Service Unavailable - DNS failure

The server is temporarily unable to service your request. Please try again later.

OK, our Exchange Online and Outlook.com stuff seems to have stabilized. Not all of our users were impacted. About 40 or 50 out of 400.

It's funny because I was half-joking with my boss last week that the Xbox One launch might have an effect on our service.

Our Office 365 connectivity is getting hit, intermittently dropping Outlook connections to Exchange Online, etc. I've lost connectivity to the Office 365 admin portal as well (which all runs through Outlook.com.)

Just noticed this thread and realized that it's now Friday on the other side of the world.

That's a much more worrying issue than Xbox.com being down. Hope it isn't too widespread and MS can get it back up and running ASAP. Businesses won't be happy.

Definitely an MS issue - timeouts appear after step13 inside the MS network structure.

I just got up and logged in fine, but when I go to the store (in a game) it just times out. xbox.com and outlook.com are both up for me though ...

last friday me and my friends all had a system freeze at the same time on Gears3. very odd, we just assumed it had something do to with Xbone launch

My buddy in New Jersey got his X1 early today from Amazon. He is running around on an empty 64 player conquest server (BF4) as we speak.

Xbox.com does appear to be down...however Xbox Wire is up.

I am really glad I went got mine last night and had it all set up before bed. All the updates downloaded super fast and I also downloaded all the apps from the store. :)

I would imagine they will get this sorted fairly soon...

Holy crap, seems like the msft.net dns servers are down. Very strange. Could be saturation?

Edit; Hrm, now resolving.

edit 2: but not resolving all Microsoft properties. Weird.

The Azure status page (XBL and MS' business customers are hosted in Azure) is returning error 500 at moment. Heh.

Microsoft are running an MVP cloud event at the moment, as it happens.

If xbox live stays down everyone who bought/will buy one tonight has a brick until they fix this.

Oh shit, I completely forgot about the day 1 patch.

This is going to be awful if people line up at midnight but can't even boot the damn thing.
