So it's cheaper for me to just buy the deluxe edition of sunset instead of just adding the season pass to my disc/digital copy? Lol, Jesus I knew I should have bought that damn pass last time it went on sale 🙁

Ended up only grabbing Wolfenstein The New Order and Black Ops 3 from week 1. I haven't owned a COD game since Modern Warfare 2, and the free Infinite Warfare weekend awhile back got me in the mood for another one. I had my eye on Recore, but I'd guess it will be a Games With Gold freebie sometime within the next year. Interested in Forza Horizon 3 and GTA V too, but I don't have the time to invest in those two massive games right now so I held off rather than add to the backlog.

Fucking £15 in the UK.

£30. This is absolutely bullshit pricing.

£14.85

£20.00

Can't be fucked with this sale.

Publishers set the sale price but MS seem to have a easy worldwide strategy on sales while Sony must have multiple teams to negotiate sales in different regions.

Microsoft let go of most of their Xbox European head office employees. Can't say either way but the pricing is weird, it was usually pretty good.

According to MCV 75 per cent of full time Xbox EMEA roles there would be terminated and staff asked to reapply to secure the remaining 25 per cent. The UK Xbox team will reduce by ten per cent and all contractor roles have been terminated.

That was two and a half years ago though.

Purchased Dear Esther, considering Layers of Fear and Mad Max, but not sure yet.
Mad Max seems really fun, but in general I suck at racing so it may be a poor choice for me.
Anyone played Layers of Fear?

Is this somehow confirmed? Honest question, I have an PS4, One and PC. Knowing which version to buy for future proof is becoming difficult.

No. I highly doubt that Developers/Publishers will go back and patch up old games. It has happened with some on PS4 Pro but by and large most games have not received a Pro performance patch. Also, if I were in your shoes I would buy everything on PC except exclusives.

Man, BC is an absolute killer of cheap prices on 360 games. Why bother, should I just buy a used game version that you see no profit from if you're going to be so greedy.

Is this a regional thing? I'm not seeing prices for 360 games that should call for this sort of reaction.

Also, great-googly-moogly, I was regretting not getting Catherine for $5 last time it was on sale. Just bought it for $3.

MS already said they aren't having an 'standard xbox one' mode. Even the S has improved performance.

They even said any game that uses dynamic res will automatically take advantage of Scorpio no patches needed and since the S runs games at a slightly higher framerate, I don't think it's much of a reach to say Scorpio will aswell.

Hey can we not do that here. This is about the Xbox deals, not a freaking console war.

Sorry you're right

RDR and a few other games got "price hikes" (less % off).

GTA 4 is $5. If anyone wants it digitally they should probably pick it up because it will be double that price once BC hits.

Hmm. Nothing is saying 'slam dunk'.

I picked up Titanfall 2 yesterday, and I have about $45 left in Xbox Credit.

I may still get Forza Horizon 3, or FFXV before week 1 ends... MGS:V + Ori + ??? is also a possibility.

I was really hoping for something in Week 2 that would let me avoid this decision.

Agreed, some of the bigger games will likely get patches or some smaller games where devs want to shoot for a new revenue stream (people want games that take advantage of their new console), but the majority will not get patches. (like has been the case with PS4 Pro)

However, Microsoft has already stated that games with dynamic resolution and unlocked framerates will automatically take advantage of the hardware. This is because the hardware will not be artifically locked down like how the PS4 Pro does to emulate a PS4. (to guarantee the same experience)

Even games with a target framerate will automatically be able to stick to their target where they would drop on the XB1. This will vary game by game, but in games that support dynamic res and/or unlocked framerates, most games will likely always hit their max resolution and their max framerate. Most locked games will likely always stick to their target framerate as well with no drops. I would expect this to be the rule, with of course some exceptions.

Edit: The above is already the case for the Xbox One S, but since the hardware difference is minimal, the noticeable difference in framerate/resolution is also small. Digital Foundry demonstrates this in a few of their videos.
