Here's my guesses for new stuff:

  • Alph with randomized Pikmin Pluck, no white or purple Pikmin, Rock Pikmin added (Clone)

I dunno the cross promotion with Splatoon port makes tons of sense and I just have a feeling Nintendo/Smash Switch team won't care if it should make sense lmao. Plus I think they'd require much more effort for a newcomer.

Returning Characters: All of 'em

Returning Stages: I think that 1 of 2 things could happen - either the Wii U stages are brought with some Switch exclusive standard stages, or the stages from both 3DS and Wii U are brought over. I think it'll be the second option.

Heh, I was joking if it wasn't obvious enough. Understandable but I just hope that they would get in because they would be very interesting newcomer, and they were extremely popular as well.

Inkling has to be there. There's no doubt in my mind. A new Smash Bros. (or in this case, a port, but presumably with new characters, so it still counts) without Inkling would be like Brawl without Olimar, or Smash for 3DS/Wii U without Villager or Miis. Splatoon is now the most notable Nintendo IP without a character in Smash Bros. Inkling missed out on 3DS/Wii U because Splatoon released too late, and I believe that they would have been DLC if they didn't require a new ink mechanic to be implemented along with them, with the 3DS potentially holding the development team back. But now, on Switch? It's time. Inkling needs to be there, otherwise there will be an obvious void with the absence of Splatoon representation.

I really think a new Pokémon will be added...but I'm starting to doubt Decidueye. I just can't see it. Maybe Rowlet or Mimikyu or Alolan Raichu? I don't know...there isn't a stand out choice for me

I'm pretty sure the only Pokémon that have decent shots at it are heavily marketed ones, and starters tend to be that. Also it's a pretty popular Pokémon on its own and finally brings the Grass/Fire/Water starter trio to the Smash roster (plus PLAYABLE GHOST HELL YEAH).

Not only in Japan.
Splatoon got propelled into being a Nintendo flagship series despite the fact it is (at least until the Switch port comes out) a Wii U exclusive, and the Wii U did poorly in general.
That's how much of a success it was.

The only reason Snake was in Smash in the first place is because Sakurai and Kojima are friends. Considering Kojima isn't even involved with Metal Gear anymore, it seems like a bad bet.

To be fair, Inafune leaving Capcom didn't stop Mega Man from getting in, despite Capcom seemingly not caring about Mega Man at the time. There's really not much reason to NOT bring Snake back. I don't really understand why he wasn't included in 3DS/Wii U in the first place. Either Sakurai didn't bother to bring him back, or Konami wouldn't allow it, neither of which makes much sense. Certainly not now that we have Ryu, Cloud, and Bayonetta in the game, too.

Not submitting but I just gotta say Geno would be a dream come true. I wanted him so bad in Brawl and Sm4sh, and that mii costume just stung. But at least I know he'son Sakurai's mind! Come on Geno!!

I would imagine Ash-Greninja would be Greninja's new Final Smash if anything. Actually, a number of Pokémon should get new Final Smashes after Sun & Moon. Ash-Greninja for Greninja (even if it's just a visual addition on top of Greninja's current Final Smash), Catastropika for Pikachu, and Twinkle Tackle for Jigglypuff. But I'm not holding my breath for any Final Smash changes like that. It'd be nice to have Z-Moves represented in some way, though. That's why Decidueye would be a great addition! Not only would it complete the Grass/Fire/Water-type starter Pokémon trio in Smash, but its Final Smash would undoubtedly be its exclusive Z-Move, Sinister Arrow Raid. I dunno if we should expect a new Pokémon fighter or not, but if we do get one, I can't imagine anything but Decidueye at this point.

I'm very glad that we got Geno as Mii costume because Mii Gunner felt so right for Geno but it would be nice to have victory pose, intro and taunts that actually fits for Geno.

I have a history of not having any characters I actively want added to the roster and I suspect that while we will get new peeps added, they won't be anyone who interests me, so consider most of this more of a moderate wishlist than any real expectation. My real prediction is that none of the characters I mention will be in :p If I was going full crazy wishlist I'd add Mawile and Goombella as well XD

every smash game has always had a new pokemon character added, seeing how the gen 7 just came out and with a posable port of the switch people are thinking we are getting a new pokemon character

most people are guessing decidueye for a bunch of different reasons, like it could be argued he is the most popular starter for gen 7 or since there is no grass starter he would give smash the starter triangle or just he is a interesting character that brings a bunch of different game play ideas that you can't find anywhere else on the roster

For me, Decidueye would've brought an interesting archetype to Smash Bros that no one did. It would be their best choice to include full-fledged archer character. In my mental, he would be so similar to Hawkeye (UMVC3) and Green Arrow (Injustice).

Pit, Link and Dark Pit wouldn't counts because they only used Bow/Arrow as one of their move. Also Decidueye looks so badass as well.

We don't know how Decidueye's name is pronounced, right?

If it does get in, I just hope that when the announcer says the name it is pronounced "de-si-dew-aye" instead of "de-ci-dew-ey". The latter is so lame sounding lol.
