Good news, Capcom knows that with this game the stake is the relevance of the franchise in the market. So if they fail...well basically the shareholders will kill the development team :p
On parer they're taking the right direction, back to horror but with modern gameplay.

Well Reeves said that he had not seen any prototypes yet but he figured that Capcom might possibly be working on Wii U prototypes behind the scenes and if they do there's a chance that they might show them at TGS because that's when companies show new stuff.
Yup

In any case he didn't really know. I personally don't think we'll see Wii U again before the holiday season starts. Maybe Nintendo will give some more nuggets at the usual October thing but a Nintendo World event late this year or early next year is more likely given the fact that Wii U skipped the post-E3 NoE events and won't be at Games-Com.
I agree, but it wouldn't surprise me if RE 6 lands on Wii U. If it's really announced this September I expect an announcement during Nintendo World.

I want a post game three reboot. Everything that happened after three to be rewritten.

no mulitplayer including co-op. Only mp i could except would be the mercinaries extra game. But i would rather see the money spent on the singleplayer.

slow walking zombies

urban areas

cinematic camera angles meshed with res4 behind the shoulder. In an all new spectacular fashion.

horror oriented

survivor oriented.

less focus on batshit insane conspiracies.

No animu trash.

All new charcters. No wesker, no chris etc.

3 Requests:

1 - PLEASE be Survival Horror! I need to be scared while playing a Resi Game again
2 - Fairly certain it won't be, but don't make it a FPS Capcom!!
3 - Claire Redfield as main character please!!!

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I just hope they stop plagiarising the work that Mikami and co did on RE4 and actually move the gameplay design and scenarios forward. I can think of about 2 occasions in my RE5 playthrough where the game didn't feel like a reskinned, borked RE4. The lack of ideas was staggering and I don't really see where they are going to come from.

my dream resident evil 6:

NEW characters
NEW locations
NEW storyline/hero/villian
OLD survival horror feeling

i used to be scared to walk a corridor or open the next door.. now i'm making headshots with ease& blowing up dozens of enemies with rockets or grenades, and feeling like it's all action, with a hint of horror.

My request- Don't fucking suck in every aspect possible like Resident Evil 5. RE5 had great graphics but other than that, failed all around. RE5 had a few moments that could have been memorable but were marred by bad execution. Like the wading through gator water. And the entire game as a whole was just...Blah. Didn't do anything exciting.

That said, as a Resident Evil fan, I'm very interested to see RE6. Since Capcom has been outsourcing nearly all of their franchises I wonder if RE6 is being outsourced as well. And if so, to who?

RE4 was okay. But i hope that the series will go back to the feel and atmosphere of the first 3. i'll be fine if co-op is limited to mercs.

The word 'okay' has no place in the same sentence as Resident Evil 4.

Damn straight. Resident Evil 4 was one of the best games of last generation. Period. Capcom tried to replicate it's formula for success with RE5 and failed to do so. So now may be the time for a reboot and change of gameplay mechanics if they choose, but that doesn't affect RE4 one bit. It is and always will be one of the gem's of last generation.

No, cut 3 out, too. Wiping Raccoon City off the map is no fun!

I beat RE4 about 3 times, along with Separate Ways on Ps2 but I always had a hard time playing beyond the village area which I found the best part of the game by far. Escort missions, Story and last boss were a disappointment as well. There were some weak and repetitive parts for me.

I can't say that RE4 my favourite RE. It was fun, yes. But REmake and RE2 define RE for me. I think it comes in third alongside Nemesis and above Zero and Code Veronica.

Problem of RE5 was that it was merely a cut n paste job with the same enemy routines, animations and about everything. There were even (lifted from RE4?) latin skins being thrown into the poorest part of Africa. The areas felt random as well, they were designed around co-op and lacked any form of exploration. Then we entered tombs, and a moment further, in some stupid blast furnace, we could use a cover mechanic to dodge machinegun fire. I consider the actual game to be a train wreck, while Untold Stories and Mercs were great and even worth it to buy Gold edition for.

This. I wouldn't mind if they went with the same style of camera as 4&5, but take it back to the fear/horror/puzzle-solving roots and make controlling the character as smooth as gears or dead space with the difficulty in combat coming from other aspects of the game like scarce ammo, two hit deaths or whatever. On the other hand, I would will for a static-camera resident evil at 1080p with incredibly atmospheric pre-rendered animated backgrounds and 3d character with great animations that blended well into the scenery, using the current consoles' power.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!11 ...Seriously, I wouldn't give the series another glance if they ever did this. Static-camera maybe but none of that pre-rendered background crap. Today's hardware is more (?) than capable of creating beautiful realtime environments. As much as I loved RE4, it was very refreshing departure from the original formula... I'd too would like to see RE return to its roots. RE5 doesn't exist. That's how I live my life.

I don't think I can grasp how one could like RE5 but not like RE4.

I mean they're almost the exact game, except RE4 has remarkably better level design, boss fights and ambience.

RE5 was a fantastic co-op game. And still has some of the most satisfying gunplay this gen.

I hope they go back to mansions and labs for this!

send deadspace 1 & 2 to capcom devs to show how a NON 1990's game controls

The cancer that is killing Biohazard...

And Dead Space is shit easy unless you're playing it on hardcore. No thanks, bro.

He's referring to the controls.. not the game's level of difficulty. I agree with his statement.

Every time I hear the word "reboot" I cringe. What a cheap and silly marketing scheme. Mario and Final Fantasy got by without it somehow.

FF entries don't have a continuos story between entries outside of spin-offs and Mario doesn't exactly have a story. Nothing here really calls for a reboot unless Nintendo lost their minds and decided to make Mario all gritty or something.

What really qualifies as a reboot anyway? New style, new mechanics? It seems pretty vague to me. I really liked the revised core mechanics in RE4 but I'd like to see them take these mechanics and go back to a more traditional design with their next game, something more survival horror and less linear adventure game.

Co-op trumps all those things for me. If they drop co-op in the next one then I won't play it, simple as that.

As much as I enjoyed the co-op in RE5, let's just say I hope you won't be playing RE6.

Whoa... I mean, I like co-op as much as the next person. But. Really? Ah, to each it's own I guess. I prefer quality over quantity.

I would love a reboot. They need to take note from the current success of the Dead Space series and start making an actual horror game.

IMO dead space 1 only was a true horror game..
NOt so sure about 2 however

ANYWAY , if they allow move and shoot it need to be less accurate than the point and shoot . point and shoot require good aiming and situation awareness while move and shoot only reqiure quick reflexes ...i guess i really don't see what was wrong with RE4 ( to this day ) ( "maybe it was LEON supplexes after all ?")

Oh god no. Bring over the ability to move while shooting, but RE must take NOTHING of Dead Space's obnoxious approach to horror. Go back to being a self-aware interactive B-horror movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. The opposite of Dead Space.

Forced co-op completely ruined any chance of 5 being remotely scary. I hope they remove it.

Yeah. At least no need to add worthless AI partner. Coop is tolerable only with real people. But overall the game was total crap, except mercs mode, which I played almost 2 years competitively.

WAIT WAIT WAIT

If it's being announced at TGS, shouldn't it be a "Biohazard 6" logo? Why would the RE one leak first?

Because it was at an american convention?
If there is a Japanese con this week it would say "Biohazard 6"

'Cos it was shown at Comic-Con and it's not called Biohazard in the States? Just a guess though. I'm sure they have both logos sorted out anyway and will show the Biohazard one in Japan.

Either way, I want this game in me. Or something to that degree. There is a lot that can still be done with this franchise.
