Don't forget my post!

To expand on your question about the context of this short's creation, it was premiered at and I assume commissioned by a planetarium/cafe in the international terminal of Haneda Airport in Tokyo.
Ah, didn't see that. Everyone loves windows. lol

And you know, it makes perfect sense that it's shown at an airport. It even makes sense that it's silent as well!

Kaze are also gonna start looking into getting the UK license for whatever they get the French license for.

Oh and Persona 4 is getting a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Will likely come out here before Arena amirite.

Uh, bland. Just give me another season of Sengoku Collection

I don't care about the show in the PV.
But don't you ever say that again, young man!

He's right, though! Whatever Sengoku Collection has been, it certainly hasn't been boring.

That has been 85.5% of my experience with the occasional "not as boring/bad" episodes here and there!
However, there have been a couple of better episodes. Also, I am a few episodes behind, but it couldn't have changed that much.

Haru is getting really annoying now, at least there was plenty of grandma moe to make up for it in this episode.

What happens within the first five minutes of this episode.

F-f-fanfare?!

My reaction afterwards.

The tone of this episode was most certainly, erm...different from that of the episodes before. It seems that my
savior theory
was accurate, but only to an incredibly rough degree and context compared to the aesthetics displayed by the
delusions
of Shounen Bat. Disappointed? Only for a second. The recovery was swift when I recognized that he is well...a "kid."
It doesn't really explain the connections between victims though...Ah well, there will probably be a time for that.

Anyhow, the new insight was a nice change of pace. If anything, it had a bit too much fun with the particular mental disorder introduced in this episode! It could be argued that it's a feeling that's on point due to the disposition of Shounen Bat in regards to his actions and victims. He doesn't see it as
him doing wrong, but him doing an exciting and justifiable work.
This sets the stage for throwing away all negative or solemn weight behind the attacks and the people who experienced them. In any case, I had some laughs with it.

An interesting element is observing the contrast between the two detectives on the case again. Mitsuhiro being the "good cop" that feels the necessity of seeing through the criminal's looking glass in order to understand the workings of the case better, while Keiichi just wants them to "spill the beans" (and for that generic fanfare to stop)! It is illustrated even further when Mitsuhiro is
placed in textbook RPG attire while entering the world of Shounen Bat
while Keiichi remains the same in appearance. He doesn't buy it, "get" it and only desires to gain answers on a face value; content with ignoring the intricacies of the mind. Yet, it does seem that Mirsuhiro is a bit of a nerd at heart making it easier for him to digest and enjoy the interrogation!

On the topic, the mind itself
(that of Shounen Bat)
, wasn't as mentally engaging as those before. The tone shift in script and visual direction makes it difficult for me to imagine that any viewer would be found to relate or find curiosity in his specific condition.

That said, I had considerable fun with the episode. Though nothing I would want "taking over" the breadth of the series, mind you.

Cyborg 009 Movie (1966)

Well, this was pretty cool. Movie adaptation of the manga of the same name, it's the origin story of the titular character whose real name is Joe Shimamura.

He was an accomplished race car driver before being dying when his car was sabotaged mid-race. The nefarious Black Ghost organization recovered his body and rebuilt him as Cyborg 009, the ninth in a series of human experiments. The rest of the cyborgs revolt against Black Ghost as none want to be used as weapons and they take 009 along as they escape. They're effectively a multicultural super hero team with the usual gamut of powers ranging from stuff like super strength to flight to even shapeshifting. Their creator, Dr. Gilmore, instructs 009 to lead the rest and so that's that.

The second half of the film involves the cyborgs tracking down Black Ghost after being baited into investigating a war that had begun between neighboring countries. Black Ghost was selling weapons to both sides and, in turn, furthering hostilities. 003 is captured and 009 leads an effort to rescue her.

This is very much a product of its time but not in any sort of negative light. The campy cartoon violence is charming and fighting in the name of peace has a certain noble quality to it given the shadow of World War II still lingered enough to affect the characters in this film. The opening auto race is described as a race between peaceful nations after the war and 003 apparently lost her family when Germany invaded France. The movie even goes so far to create a sort of embodiment of war as one character introduced late claims to have started both WWI & WWII.

That said, it's pretty light in the story department. The action sequences are long and almost overstay their welcome despite being the main focus. Aside from a brief memory of 003, there's little background to any of the characters and you're given just enough info to go along. There's also the rather unfortunate depiction of 008 as a blackface character. This belies his actual strong no-nonsense characterization.

Another amusing point was there's apparently an homage to the Tom & Jerry and the Toodles Galore character that was present in a 1946 Tom & Jerry short. I don't know for certain but it seems pretty obvious when 007 transforms into a familiar brown mouse, finds himself stalked by a very cartoony blue cat, and who is in turn distracted by a white female cat wearing a bow. Who knows though? Maybe it is just coincidence.

Cyborg 009 himself.

Cyborg 007 was responsible for quite a bit of the comic relief due to his shapeshifting ability.

This feels familiar.

Gundam 00 Season 1
Episodes 1-15 Great
Episodes 15-25 Absolutely Horrible

This show has some of the worst pacing I haver seen. The close calls, twists and scheming felt like it was from a really bad season of 24. Too many
'sad' moments, to the point that Lockon's death was just 'whatever'(despite being my favorite character).
and the final battle
when the suit got up on the destroyed Mobile Armor I literally said "Jesus" and THEN Aker shows up out of nowhere(after skipping out on all the battles the last like five episodes) just to have a short fight at the end and die.

This show had alot of good stuff though. Mechs looked real nice. The 3 main factions I enjoyed alot. As unimportant as Louise & Saji were I really liked them. Main characters were pretty good, though I don't get the Setsuna love unless its all from season 2.

Will watch season 2 but man that got bad quickly.

Weird, I feel the opposite.. 15-25 was where shit got real, n the fight was great too.

Too bad S2 was underwhelming, the mecha porn still there though.

EDIT: forget it, read the reasoning. Some DTL stuff there, I'm not worthy.

The Light of El Cantare
Let's just say that Gundam 00 Season Two was the show that shook me out of my passive, all-accepting mode of anime consumption. And this was someone that absolutely could not understand why the internet hated Gundam SEED Destiny when I began watching anime. Yeah...

Extollere

Sucks at poetry
It's the porn market called comiket that happens to have some anime stuff on the side.

Yes. It's a magical place where all the best doujin come out, and professional photographers with really expensive cameras take upskirt shots of all the female cosplayers.

Destiny is still much much worse. Only time where I have ever watched anime and skipped parts of episodes.

Sounds like a waste of expensive cameras.

My MarkII got many good photos.

Oh boy, DTL should buy this month's Shounen Gangan! This is the key visual poster they included for Zetsuen:

Is there a reason why you're pimping the show so hard for reasons other than it being done by BONES?
