Dragon Quest IX

Some shots off-screen from the megaton conference. The last one shows real-time clothing change! Something that the series has never had! ;) Seriously - the only thing VIII ever showed was jessica's bikini and weapon changes. This is definitely a cool edition.

I'm going to dork-it-out and say I like the screen that shows your profits going up and down. On that note, give me Aerobiz too.

Izuna: The Legend of the Unemployed Ninja

Release: Q1 2007
Developer: Atlus

Worst name for a game ever, or best? Read the dialogue in these boxes. This game looks to be pretty funny, but it will come down to how well it actually plays, as always.

The dialogue for "Unemployed Ninja" seems well written. I may have to look into this... what's its play style, exactly?

According to what I've read it's some sort of Jade Cocoon get-critter-fight-alongside-it kinda game, except that instead of catching them you "unearth" them as fossils and bring them to life. If you're careless while drilling and dusting your fossil, you could cause damage to it and you could lose the creature or get a weak version of it.

Sounds sexy as hell, especially for people who liked Jade Cocoon (like yours truly).

Regarding the Disney music, not including it would be the most idiotic thing ever. Then again, we've seen our fair share of idiocy so I wouldn't get excited yet.

Judging from the screens alone, it appears to be a typical sprite-based jrpg with some dungeons sprinkled in. Also, I actually think that the Unemployed Ninja is a woman, which my American Brain (one that also wrongly assumes Dr. means he) didn't consider.

This game is also in development by Atlus, which makes it seem that much better.

About Disney Meteos' music:
I would play it for Aladdin's "One step ahead" alone. However I don't think I saw any reference to that move, but instead seeing references to Lion King, Nightmare Before Christmas and Pirates of the Carribean.

Hell, we're just as likely to get A Whole New World as anything. :|

Any word on a Metroid Fusion/Zero Mission type game?

Wasn't there a Metroid Dread game or something?

All these screens look fantastic (even though I'm not interested in the bulk of them).

Is Lunar Knights an RPG?

Sim City DS

Release Date: JPN: Winter 2007, USA, Europe: TBA

Ea is apparently not lying for once when they said they were going to put some actual effort into DS Games.

That SimCity game looks awesome! I loved oldschool SimCity when I was younger, although that was playing with cheats. Without them will probably be even more fun. Please don't suck SimCity, please EA make a good DS game for once.

A special thanks goes out to those that are improving this thread by continuing the established posting format.

Like the threads, but whole self-appointed MAN IN CHARGE attitude is just a tad bit irksome. If someone doesn't meet your specific posting standards they won't get linked to the top of the thread?!?? OMG NOS...

I saw the Dragon Quest IX for DS thread, but I didn't read it and thought it was fake news... :lol
Though i'm sure it will be a good game and the game will improve as it is developed, i'm not impressed by the screens. The video I saw a few weeks ago of Dragon Quest Joker looked better.

Prior to this thread I knew nothing of FFXII:Revenant Wings or Sim City, and I'm now excited about both.

All of the Dragon Quest games look pretty sweet too!

Is Lunar Knights a Boktai game?

FFXII - RW looks awesome, a few questions.

1. Is it coming to the states/Europe?
2. Do i need to have played FFXII before?
3. Is it an Action RPG.
4. Are computers in your party and do you control them?
5. Is it turn based?

1. No official word, but I don't see why it wouldn't.
2. No. They've said specifically already that they want people who've never even played a Final Fantasy before to be able to enjoy it.
3. Same system as XII, gambits included.
4. See Above.
5. See Above.

Oh man, next year DS is going to be RPG greatness.

Next year DS is going to be awesomeness in general.

I like Izuna's writing (<3 Atlus localizations) and it has cute art, but I'm pretty sure the game's gonna suck. :\ Not to mention the graphics aren't really that pretty.

But FFXII:RW - WOW. I'm more amazed every time I see the game.

Some of the 3D on the DS is pure shit, I'm REALLY gonna miss the beautiful sprites on Minish Cap in favour of that appaling, movie tie-in, 3D. :(((((((((((((

Ummm, you can talk shit about the DS 3d capabilities if you want, but using Phantom Hourglass as an example is stupid. PH has some of the best looking 3D on the system. Find a better example.

I know I won't be adding much to the thread but I had to post:

WHAT THE HELL at all this wonderful things coming to the nintendo DS???, not only most of the games look engaging but they are everything from very solid to spectacular (yes, I truly believe) in the graphics department!! while not as powerful as the PSP, it's good enough that you don't even have to turn around to look for anything else. No joke, I mean it.

most of the games scream: " come, dig this game! it rocks! "

I haven't bought a DS yet... I feel sorry for that. First I though about buying a DS when Zelda:pH arrives, mainly because nintendo systems are supposed to be worthy for their 1st party titles. Oh boy, this couldn't be farther from the truth for the DS. And this thread is not only a promise about upcoming gaming greatness; DS has already too many titles out there:

the Castlevanias..
Elite beat agents..
all the square-Enix games..
NSMB
Trauma center
Phoenix W games

wow.......

a DS is a system worth buying even if it was a home console. And It's a shocking thought, with the power era arising with 360/PS3...
