I agree with a lot of what you said, but some of the claims have a bit of merit to them. That said, looks/sounds/dances cannot be copyrighted, so it's not as if any particular person "owns" any of those things. Similarly, assuming an artist is even aware that they're "copying" someone else, which I imagine is rather uncommon, you can reference, pay homage to, or be inspired by something without "copying" it. It's entirely possible for two people to independently come up with the same idea.
It's easy to throw any two pictures together and find/create similarities between them if that's what you're looking to see. See:

Chrome has gotten so messy, still trés Google to launch something exciting and then turn it to shit later on. Unfortunately the plug-in I use to curtail GAF browsing when I should be working doesn't exist on Safari otherwise I'd use that.
