I'm surprised that they were able to sustain that level of animation for the entire episode, and it looks like episode ten will continue the fight. Lots of good cuts, lots of good effects, this shit is like manna.

You should explain the deep ties to the Index mythology.

Majikoi doesn't even come close to touching the legitimately bad stuff out there.

I guess to be completely fair to Majikoi, I only watched the first episode. I think I'll return to it.

Sometime I will at least watch some part of these shows.

I'm gonna stop you right there, Andrea, and tell you that the Zombie Apocalypse is legitimately nothing like the Spanish Flu pandemic. Even if it is a pandemic. I mean, the dead rising is just a little different, don't you think? And I have to disagree with what you've said, here, too, Andrea. Herschel is right: a couple of months is a relatively short time for a Zombie Apocalypse and any realistic zombie scenario ought to end in just that way: the total decay of the Zombies before they can devour the humans smart enough to adapt to their new, hellish way of life. A few months is a real short time when you consider how long those godawful Resident Evil movies have been dragging it out.

Man these four they just picked up have "NOT GOING TO SURVIVE AND BE REGULAR CHARACTERS" written all over their faces. Also they aren't in the OP, soooooo . . .

Zombie panties! It really is just like the Walking Dead!! I even hate Andrea just as much!!

HEEELLOOOO PINSTRIPED SHANE.

OH BOY IS THERE GOING TO BE A RICKOCRACY? OR A RICTATORSHIP?

What did Pinstriped Shane teach, the Art of Being Obviously Evil? Oh good, fire works on zombies here. Because it doesn't in TWD.

Some charming bonding time with mother and daughter, then . . .

. . . shit went all
sixth sense
on me.

Still not a looker as far as anime goes, but at least the characters have sharp clean lines and a good amount of annoying shaft-isms are toned down for a more sedate presentation. And there's people in the background! And sometimes they move!

I enjoyed episode five and I liked this one, too. Think I'll wrap this one up.

Apparently the Final Fantasy anime is really bad too.

I thought it was okay. If for no other reasons than Chobi is adorable and the Demon Swordsman was cool. Chobi was so cute.

Which fuck decided to make a shit Chrono Trigger anime. You can't just take a steaming shit on such a beloved series without facing the consequences.

Wait, there's a CT anime? I've seen the one where its like, just the millenial fair. Is there more?

It's been a month and 2,000 people have died? And the government has done nothing to get these people out? The greatest hackers in the world have failed to make this work? Can't buy it. If technology has advanced to the point of immersion VR, suitable methods for cracking it or shutting it off should have advanced at an equal pace. Oh well.

It's also been a month since Kirito has used the bathroom, eaten, or bathed. How does his family afford to keep him alive? The medical bills must be astronomical. God help any players in the USA.

IT TOOK YOU GODDAMN IDIOTS A MONTH TO REALIZE THE BOSS TO THE NEXT FLOOR WAS IN A TOWER? JEEZ HAVE YOU MORONS EVER PLAYED A VIDEO GAME BEFORE? I'm sorry but that's really, really stupid. Also, there's no magic, no job system, limited gil and worse, limited EXP. Immersion VR aside, why in God's name would anyone want to play this game? It sounds like the worst kind of RPG.

Who does that? Who just wildly and at random assumes someone in a crowd happened to be a beta tester? There were only 1,000 of them. Ugh anime logic.

Oh man, the tower isn't even hard to find. Also, missed opportunity for a Leeroy Jenkins joke.

Hey what happens if you had a bad internet connection? Why would you reject a potion? What even is the point of doing that? I don't understand why you would reject a potion. There is literally no reason for you to die here.

Oh gee, I cannot believe this beta tester witch hunt. At least the fight was awesome. And Kirito got himself a cool new coat! Now he doesn't have to look generic anymore!

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A BEATER. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

This little two-episode arc has turned around my opinion of the show. Still not great, but there's some real heart to it and what was once thought to be pandering has now, well, taken on some extra dimensions.

To quote the Anime Encyclopaedia:

Legitimately worse than SAO!
The "almost as bad as SAO" comment was meant as a joke, of course this is worse. SAO doesn't quite come close to that offensive as it is.

Looking at The Rapeman wiki, I am shocked/amazed that there are 9 live action movies based on this manga.

I don't know if I even want to know...
I can't seem to figure out why either. Just why?
Sounds like I need to take one for the team and find out.

I assume that this is porn though. :p
The manga isn't meant to be I think. The anime is. And yeah in a sense, SAO is more harmful.

I continue to be amazed by how much better animated Railgun is compared to Index. The first season was animated out the ass during fights too.

They need a recap episode for production scheduling reasons, not for anything related to the viewer.

We already have a damn recap at the beginning of every episode. They should just, I dunno, show a rerun that week. This sucks.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A BEATER. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

I think it was apparent that attempting to tamper with the device just killed people anyway. It probably was too big of a risk when you don't have the permission of the person on the other end to experiment with. Or something. Eh, it's still bullshit.

Maybe it's that it took them a month to actually find the boss within the dungeon? Or maybe I'm not remembering this right. To be fair to the players, it took me like 6 months to get through the first dungeon in Skyward Sword (but that's because I was bored as heck)

there were 10,000 players at launch, and 1,000 beta testers. that means that 1/10 players are beta testers. good chances are someone's a beta tester in a crowd of that size.

Apparently there's a several-hour-long window of time you could be disconnected from the system and just be unconscious, to facilitate movement to a hospital or something.

From what I remember, in the light novel they make the blue hair commander dude more of a self-centered jerk using others to further his own goals. I can't remember why he doesn't take the potion, though. If he's even offered it.

Also that fight is one of the few half decent fights in the show. ahahaha

I always look forward to your reviews, I can see the rage coming for the future heehee

There's just no way they didn't think Beater through as a term. It's so dumb it made me instantly forget that
Kirito was pretending to be a bad guy or whatever to manipulate people. I'd call this pulling a Lelouch except Lelouch WAS a bad guy.

Same reason people play Fire Emblem: Awakening and Persona.....it has waifus.

This is an as yet unmentioned aspect of SAO in the show. Plus, FE:A has magic, unlimited money and EXP on top of the waifus.

Okay, so... how much of Railgun is moe girls and how much of it is good action? I never watched it because I didn't much like Index and this just looked like a moe schoolgirl version of the same, but people talk highly of its action sequences all the time.

I'm watching Railgun S1 right now without having seen Index and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Not too many action sequences, but when they do happen it's like AHH AWESOME

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA A BEATER. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

It's explained in one of the original LN side chapters that the game is programmed for completely realistic sex in-game and the original game let you construct your appearance entirely at your whim. Yeah.

Realistic glopping noises.

Attack on Titan 10

I can't believe that took 18 minutes to accomplish. That said, Dot Pixis is one hell of a guy. Definitely my favorite of the commanders so far. Also, I have to say I find Mikasa's loyalty admirable, even if she is almost to Lord Jeremiah levels at times.

Potato Girl remains best girl.

I can sorta understand peoples love of mikasa(mikasa genderbend is lovely) but sasha...why? All she does is awkward misplaced comedy that makes the anime awkward and offensive to the characters devaluing the intensity of their scenes. Such an odd character to get behind. Annie or the megane girl are better candidates for best girl.

Oh, is it that time where I have to play SAO defender?

If technology has advanced to the point of immersion VR, suitable methods for cracking it or shutting it off should have advanced at an equal pace. Oh well.

What can I say, Kayaba Akihiko is a genius. He basically pioneered every facet of this technology himself. With that in mind, I think it's fair enough to assume he'd be able to build in safeguards to counteract any of the obvious ways that the devices could be deactivated. If not perfect safeguards, then at least good enough that nobody would be ready to take the risk.

IT TOOK YOU GODDAMN IDIOTS A MONTH TO REALIZE THE BOSS TO THE NEXT FLOOR WAS IN A TOWER? JEEZ HAVE YOU MORONS EVER PLAYED A VIDEO GAME BEFORE? I'm sorry but that's really, really stupid. Now, now, it didn't take them a month to realise the boss was in a tower. I'm pretty sure that's common knowledge to all players right from the start (not least because the tower is physically connected to the next floor...) The reason it took a month for them to find the boss is because these towers are REALLY FUCKING BIG dungeons that take forever to map out. The field itself is pretty damn big, too, so it probably took most players a while to even get there.

The dungeons (and parts of the field) are also really quite dangerous, and even the minority of players who are proactively trying to clear the game are being incredibly cautious thanks to the risk of, you know, dying. So a lot of that month was probably spent obsessively grinding to the point where they could actually feel reasonably safe exploring these dangerous areas.

EDIT: Oh, it also seems a little unfair to accuse SAO of having "no job system". While it's true that there are no predefined classes, one of the big draws of the game is its in-depth skill system that allows you to heavily customise your own build. Since there are skills geared towards things like merchantry, blacksmithery and even cooking, players aren't even limited to just the standard "fighter" roles. I'm pretty sure this was one of the features that was really hyped-up before the game's release.

About 60/40 in favourite of moe-moe, I guess, but the individual episode content tends to swing entirely one way or the other. I'm not sure you'd survive Kuroko's antics in the moe-moe schoolgirls episodes, though.

Happy fun camping time! Everyone is in high spirits (except Mepple, who was getting all ready for some quality alone time with Mipple when Porun showed up to crash the party). This is Takehito Koyasu's big opportunity to show off his MASTER CAMPING SKILLS.

Also, at the end of this episode, did that Heartiel really just give the girls magical notebooks as a present? Seriously, guys, that was already a silly idea when you did it in the first series, but now you're pulling it again? I know you have to sell merchandise, but at least try to be a little more imaginative.

The Garden of Light is basically falling apart at the seams; it's pretty much raid the dollar store or nothing in a shitty magical economy.
