Awesome, these enemy designs feel like old school platformer baddies. There is no doubt this will be the greatest game ever made.

The enemies in Super Smash Bros. Brawl: The Subspace Emissary are called the Subspace Army!

Right now, I’d like to introduce some of the more powerful ones.

This enemy looks like a motorised unicycle. These guys ride around in groups, and are both fast and powerful.

POPPANT

Their bucket trousers are filled with presents and sweets. If you approach these cowards, they’ll flee.

BYTAN

Leave these enemies be and they’ll multiply in a flash. Destroy them before they become too much trouble!

TROWLON

This creature will use its trowel-like arms to lift characters up and fly off with them.

SHAYDAS

This unpleasant, fog-like enemy has a weak spot at the core of its chest!

AUROROS

This bird dives from above, piercing the ground. You can pull out any Auroros that sticks itself into the ground.

GREAP

It’s HUGE! It attacks by swinging two sickles down upon you. Its red head is its weak spot.

The R.O.B. Squad

The escort the Ancient Minister brings with him is an R.O.B squad?! There are some that fire beams and others that fire missiles.

There are other enemies that will appear and try to impede your progress. Good luck! Don’t lose! And don’t run away!

If Sakurai manages to top Kirby Super Star, this might be the best single-player platformer of all-time. But the chances of that are--

--wait, this is Sakurai. This isn't HAL Sans Sakurai trying vainly to live up to the shadow of a truly inspiring predecessor. He just might do it, and that would blow my mind. :eek:

Other developers put characters in games all the time and they sell like shit.....Sonic!

They didn't make Miracle. It was Software Creations or something like that. God, I feel like a loser for knowing that. At least I remembered it on a videogame forum.

Wow ROB Squad.

I think this blog has leveled up my Joy Points to the max. I'm pretty sure there won't be any other update that can push me over this theoretical Joy Point limit.

Smash Bros. Brawl really is going to be 2 games in one. This is amazing.

And I thought it was going to be a minor update after dropping the Online bomb yesterday.

The background of the Trowlon picture looks really nice. Auroros too, if you look past the blurry leaves in the foreground.

And dare I say it? I called an Adventure mode update. :D Although I predicted a new stage shown, not new enemies.

Enemy designs are brilliant. Trowlon is a brilliant idea - it KOs you by using the "ring out" mechanic.

I remember that happening in Melee's Corneria a lot of times :D

This is such an awesome update!

Seriously, I loved adventure mode in Melee and beat it with every character for trophies (I have my save but my copy of Melee has long since disappeared on me :()

I am so glad they are fleshing everything out!

The Wii has DVD space, there are so many new compression methods, and there is no HD stuff to store, so they had better keep supplying the awesome! (to be honest even if they released it with what is only announced id still buy this damn game! if I werent getting it for X-Mas)

Oh hey. It looks like each character has their different levels for Subspace Emissionary. The one with Pit looks something like his stage (clouds) and Links one looks a TP area. Yoshi one seems to kind of follow the rule as a cheery place. FE stage linked with FE character.

does this confirm the sub-space emissary s for all characters now, as we have only seen in the movies for Kirby, and people were wondering if only he would be doing this part......???

These enemies are awesome. Such a huge variety. It would've been so easy for them to just take classic enemies from the Nintendo games and "evilfy" them as if they'd been taken over by the Subspace Army, but instead they give us these demented assassins to toy with. Eeeeeeeeeexcellent.

They also remind me of Kingdom Hearts a great deal, especially the Poppant being an enemy that might actually be of some use to you (like those mushroom Heartless in KH)

The amount of hyperbole in this thread is pretty insane. Not that it's not a cool update, but I'm getting kind of bored with the Subspace Emissary ones, and I'm the sort of person who would be giddy about the fan.
