I suppose it's less that I'm against the idea of a X-3 and more that I'm against how they seem to be doing it here. The whole thing with X-2's best end is that Yuna busts her ass to save the world not once but twice, being intent on killing herself to accomplish the task for most of the first time, so the closest thing their world has to God basically says "we usually don't do this, but fuck it, we owe you, so we'll deus ex machina your boyfriend back from the dead." Now Yuna's worried that it's not "really" Tidus she got back, Sin has returned, and overall everything she worked hard to achieve in the first two games has been taken away from her. And on top of that she's reverted back to who she was before X-2, seemingly just because X-2 was unpopular?
Yeah, the main plot was blah overall, but I thought the battle system was perfect and loved some of the goofy side quests (such as getting monkeys to fuck in Zanarkand.)

I don't believe it's explicitly mentioned. But it's certainly heavily implied.
I liked XIII, and what I've seen of XIV is pretty cool. And Type-0 looks pretty awesome too. XV looks neat so far, even though we don't know a lot about the story. The Last Remnant was cool.
And story will only be one part of the game. There's still battle systems, art design and soundtrack. I'm definitely interested.
Yes, you're right. It's something new. I can understand the initial surprise in it being included since it's something new.
But after that, I don't get the complaints unless people only want neutered, sex-less relationships to be a concrete rule for the entire series for all time. I think the way they're tying it into the story is pretty interesting, personally. It's not just a random sex mini-game or something. It's somebody holding on to dead loved one that just got blown up in front of them. I mean, that's pretty dark, and from the sound of it she's cold and acts like its taking a heavy toll on her in the story. Furthermore, I think I read that Tidus can't know he's dead or else he vanishes - so she's basically having to lie to him the whole time, which creates more burden for her. Almost resembles the core themes of Frankenstein. I'd like to see where they go with it before I condemn something I haven't read ... let alone the following game that we haven't seen anything of yet.
They did have sex.
But it's really hard to tell if Cloud was content in a relationship with Tifa since in the ending he's still talking about Aeris.
Either way, VII's romance isn't really compareable to the rest of the series since its a love triangle that pushes players to choose whoever you want to end up with Cloud(obviously Aeris would be emotionally since she's uh...ya know)

Purely going by what's shown in FFX, I always assumed the whole bond thing meant that the strength of the relationship in whatever form it may be determines how strong the final aeon would be. On the other hand...I had always found it creepy how the fayths entered into the summoner the way they did as demonstrated by the Bahamut fayth kid. Just ramming himself into her....ew.

About the FF7 scene underneath the Highwind, apparently that scene, instead of fading in from black in the morning in the same location, it was supposed to fade in to them waking up in the chocobo stables on the Highwind. It doesn't get more explicit/raunchy than that implication. But yea, they apparently backed off from making it that suggestive.

Not the exact video but I was just watching this and the kiss is there at about 30 seconds in. It's definitely implied that they went further than that.
