The Merck arc was a really nice breather. No real battles, it was pretty great. And now here comes Zebra!

Laughing Banana

Weeping Pickle
JUDGE

This manga is quite clever. Reminds me so much of Virtue Last Reward, similar concept. So far it is better than Doubt, which despite its promising concept ended with a really silly way,,, I mean, hypnotism, really?

Although the spoiler I read for Judge in Tv Tropes is *really* surprising... I wonder how can the author pull it off in a believable way....

Antiwhippy

the holder of the trombone
Mob Psycho 100 31

This is getting SOOOOO GOOOD.

Mob is the best.

Honestly the best manga adaptation I've watched is Honey & Clover.

I still watch the anime from time to time.

H&C is pretty good but for me the best adaption has to be sayanora zetsubou sensei.

Perfectly captures the tone of the manga and amps it up to 100000%.

The GTO anime was great. It took some liberties obviously but I'm deeply attached to it since it was my first anime. And the soundtrack, goddamn, so good.

The new HxH anime is better than Togashi's chicken scratches.
Or so I've heard.
But the manga is over brah, so it doesn't count as an ongoing. :p

If Togashi had any pride, he would decide if he wanted to continue or not. If not, he needs to develop outlines and be a story advisor so the anime can take over the next arc(s). That shit is too compelling to not see the light of day.

Yeah, but since when has a long shonen series had good pacing, DECENT animation and had art true to the source material?

Um. Hunter x Hunter has animation far better than decent, and its art stays true. I would say that it improves upon Togashi's slip ups.

Edit: I should obviously refresh my page more often. Never mind me.

I think at this point it's well established that Togashi wants to continue the manga. Just... with a lot of breaks.

Aizawa-san 2

I don't think Souta has realized just exactly what he has gotten himself into.

I can't wait to see the insanity that ensues when Aizawa goes beyond 4 instances of herself.

Being the lone survivor of a plane crash has caused Gumi to now see two versions of people. Years later, she uses this power to find out what happen to her best friend.

Interesting premise and her power seems pretty handy. Seems like it'll be a good mystery and figuring out what the student teacher knows could throw a kink into Gumi's detective work.

Yu Yu Hakusho (review and recap... i guess? dunno)

First thing first, i want to thank my brain for trashing away the memories of 100+ hours of Jump Ultimate Star gameplay where i've used/encountered Yusuke preventing me to spoilering his final form, this is for you buddy.

Let me start from after the Toguro bros arc since it's where i left before my last reading session.
So Yusuke is kidnapped yadda yadda other characters that have no background whatsoever but this time is ok because by the plot (no jutsu) they are supposed to be worthless and in the end it turns out it was Genkai to test Yusuke again, cool. New boss and new worthless characters (one of them sticks with the good gang until the end of the arc for no reason) boring fights everywhere up until the boss.
Sensui is an interesting character at least but again everything is built on the fly "yeah i saw this tape about people doing bad things so now i'm bad" "btw he has 7 personalities" "oh and we'll show you only 2-3 because fuck that i'm Togashi." "lol whatever he was dying anyway".
Also the Deus Ex Machina factor in this manga is so great that Adam Jensen and JC Denton together look like ants.

So ok beaten the final boss there's 20 chapter left... a very long ending? unexpected but appreciated! Oh no my bad he wants to search the thing that possessed him... oh? so he's not going to search for it? Atypical but hey it's not like he can start a new arc with 20 chapter left... right?
NOPE not only one arc but kinda two arcs which in those are condensed more than 1.5 years.
welp.
This is where happens the miracle and the shame of this series where it seriously could be condensed in the phrase "Togashi gonna Togashi":
Everything in the demon world arc is set up to be great and incredibly interesting but since i'm an omniscient reader i know that it's going to be a clusterfuck because of the numbers of chapter left. The characters are very interesting and in the end you'll even end up having a little of backstory. You can say that it already feels more like HxH than something else, yes some things totally feels like endgame stuff (3 years then i'll return and we'll get married) but it really seems like the thing is going to be at least another 100 chapters long, in the end we have things like this this and this to shorten up everything and kill most of the hype, even the previously given 3 years of time ended up being half of that before everything was settled up for the ending... of course you remain with a sour taste in the mouth because theoretically you are supposed to know what the hell happens at the end of the first tournament and you should even see the second tournament but (always because Togashi gonna Togashi) it's been decided to end everything before that.
In the end you could say the whole thing ended the same time it got good.
Now i assumed it was the author's well known laziness the reason of those last 20 chapters but from what i know it could've been Shueisha that decided to close everything and if it's their fault then it's a goddamn shame.
The ending was quite sweet if you ask me (i'm a sucker for this type of endings) and it's probably the thing i liked the most, i revalued both the characters of Keiko and Yusuke thanks to the final arc.

Too Freaking Long; No Way In Hell I'm Going To Read That

First 85% of the manga is amateur hour in every way possible, the last 15% is a mix of awesome hype and disappointment for how the things are handled with terrible pacing.

N.B.
English is not my first language so it'll probably read like shit, i'm sorry.

Nuigurumi Kurasshu

Nearly lost my shit when the stuffed bear actually started to talk at the end.
Although, if a naked guy crawled his way out of a crane machine to make me rub and sniff him, i'd probably run away too.

Laundry

I like it when they drop all pretense, and just go with an actual plot i'm sure I've seen in a porno somewhere

Zodiac Boys

Not a bad premise, but the art was pretty crappy (something special when it's actually 5 different artists!), and the plots were nothing to write home about. Highlight was chapter 3, where the seme explains how excited he is that his uke will be turning 18 next year, and then procedes to make out with him. Good to know you are down with statutory!

Clockwork Planet 01

In a world where the planet is dead and run by gears, a machine otaku happens upon a clockwork maiden.

I like this. I really like the world they set up here, where the planet is dead and it is currently run by gears in keep it alive. I like the protag too. Average, but not annoying to keep me from enjoying this. That whole future plot has me interested in how they even get there from what is at this point, a guy meets mechanical girl story.

France has this too? Damn.
Frankly, I stopped being surprised by what comes out here after visiting the local cultural store and seeing them selling To-Love-Ru Darkness and DTL-manga (and while the yaoi was freely readable TLR was under a plastic blister with a warning sticker SHAME ON YOU FNAC)
To be fair the yaoi was place pretty up high on the shelf, children wouldn't be able to get it
How many new series do you read dakkun
I have similar tastes to his so it's pretty good for me if I want to read some new series, I just have to look into his posts ha ha.

Good LORD, Kubo's early art style was goddamn atrocious.

Holy fuck. Glad I only got into the manga after I watched the anime, because I would've dropped that shit in a heartbeat.

Sekkachi Hakushaku to Jikan Dorobou 01

Ahhhhhh, a new series by Kumeta Kouji. I'mnotworthy

So, it's about a time thief and a 4D count. It's about as confusing and complicated as you would expect from him and it's just about as awesome as I want it to be. I'm looking forward to seeing how strange this can go.

To me Hunter x Hunter already ended at chapter 339.

There is no other chapter after that. Nope.

Seriously, this chapter would have been a pretty damn good ending point for me.

Instead, Togashi had to troll us all with the first chapter which promises a potentially amazing arc. I mean, did you guys see that world map?! The chimera ants came from that place, and the queen was near death. Holy shit.

Assuming Alluka came from there, what kind of abilities would the other "humanities" residing there possess?...

Seitokai no Himegoto 01

The adventures of the student council of an all girls' school.

Here they discuss the idea of panties being seen too often and wet T-shirts.

Basically like a Seitokai Yakuindomo but with lesbian jokes.

HXH 339 was a good ending to the arc, but it leaves so much out that needs to happen, like Kurapika's revenge, Killua needing to truly break free from the Zoldycks, or eventually become Gon's worst enemy, and why did everyone really hate the vice-president of the committee?

It's like not actually getting the know what the Quincies truly were, why Ichigo was special, and why Aizen really has a vendetta against the Soul King other than "Just Because". That's what would have happened if Bleach ended with Ichigo losing his powers and saying goodbye to Rukia.

Makenki 47-60
I forgot about this, Takeru became OP really quickly.

Hoshin Engi Vol.12

Chokomei was such a fabulous villain. It's pretty hard to even say who was he even helping but just everything about him was just fabulous and made this whole middle boss fight quite enjoyable to read.

I can't figure out what's going on in that image.

One bigger cow animal thing is overshadowing one smaller cow animal thing?

The bigger one is like it is sitting down while the other one is just floating.

Just think of them like stuffed animals! (I kinda want a stuffed animal of one of them now)

Now that I think about it, Oda has an amazing work ethic. Starting serialization in 1997, he has more than 700 chapters. Togashi started one year later, but only has 340 in comparison.

If it were me, I'd probably stop the instant I get enough popularity to live off of it for the rest of my life, :lol.
