Someone posted this on a Chinese FF fan board. Basically it is a set of tools that allow you to extract the charactor/monster models and their animation data from your FFX/FFX-2 game ISO's and view them in your computer.

Well, someone on that Chinese site also happened to extracted all the models from FFX and FFX-2.

Once finishing downloading the models, unzip the package and drag a model file (.ffb files) onto the ffxview.exe icon. Then you can have fun with the models. It gave me 5 minutes of fun...

Heh, that's neat ... I can't get the link to download the packages of X-1 and X-2 models to work, though :/

edit: OK, it works in IE but not Firefox. If anyone else is having trouble, try using IE. I'm going to bed now, but I can YSI / Rapidshare / whatever these files tomorrow if anyone still needs them.

BTW, you can use download software like flashget to download the packages. just right click the download icon and select your download software.

J3dview (if I ever set a name to this program) is a tool I made to view the 3d models of games using the j3d engine. J3d games includes Mario sunshine, Mario Double Dash, Zelda Windwaker, and a few other things.

You need to DRAG A MODEL FILE (.ffb file) ONTO THE EXE ICON!

or you can type in your command console "FFXView.exe *PATH*/XXXX.ffb" to get it work.

well, they are not splitted packages, so you don't need to wait untill all are downloaded to unzip the package.

Ok guys, there is apparently also a converter floating around on the internet. It converts to obj files, which would be nice as then I could run the models through my own 3d renderer...anyways, I can't find it, anybody here have it? I think the file is called ffx2obj.

But if all the files are on rapidshare, you need the viewer to view the models, which requires you to wait an hour between each download in order to do so.

edit: This is for converting to .obj file which you can then import into 3ds max. If the ff2obj program doesnt work, put the exe and the file you want to convert into the c drive. It should work then.

When I try to open a file with the viewer, it just gives me an error message and doesn't open. Also, upon opening any of the model .rars, it gives me an "Unexpected end of archive" message, though I can still extract the files.

Great, I downloaded the 1st FFX-2 rar file, and got an error when I tried to extract the contents. I guess I'll have to wait for another hour.

Can someone host it somewhere else?
