I think it means that 170 cars while have modeled cockpit views, while the other will have the "cockpit view" from GT4.

I'm reading it as all cars have damage but 170 of them also include interior damage, which would be really impressive. Hope I'm reading it right.

But.... is it gonna be fun to play like Gt1, GT2, and GT4 or is it gonna be a boring mish-mash of realistic visuals and super-realistic handling like GT3 and Prologue?

I'm thinking this is probably true. I mean, a thousand cockpit views is like, a lot.

Good God I hope you're right. The whole '170 have damage' and '170 have interiors' theories seem too low for a game with this development time.

That was the best thing I read in that list. If ever a game needed custom soundtracks, GT is it. I can't wait to throw on whatever album I'm listening to when this game finally comes out and space out in a Gran Turismo trance.:D

No way can only 170 cars have cockpit cam....I think it means that damage affects the cockpit instead of just the exterior.

Does that mean damage is on all the cars, but damage in the 170 can be witnessed in the cockpit cam as well?

Only 170 cars will have full interior and any sort of visual damage, the rest are standard cars like before with bumper cams and regular gt invisible damage.

That's how i'm reading it.

What I'm reading is, 830 (standard) cars that have been carried over from GT4 and 170 (premium) new ones that will appear for the first time in GT5. These last 170 all present damage. That's a total of 1000 cars.

I could be wrong though, my Japanese is not perfect.

I guess the standard and premium properties rely on whether that have damage or not.

Still hoping for weather and/or day/night though. I'd rather have less cars (wtf is going to drive 1000 cars anyway). Also, the damage thingie isn't clear from translation so far.

I'm new to the gran turismo series but i'm really getting into Prologue now so my anticipation for this game has changed from "what is gran turismo?" to "one of my most anticipated games".

That's the key. It must mean damage affects the interior.

There's no way after 5 years only 170 cars will have cockpit cam, yet Forza after 2 years will have 400 cockpit enabled cars. I can't believe that...
