What would be in a modern Nintendo World Championship?

Humour me if you will; let's say after the success of the Smash Brothers tournament Nintendo held last year at E3, they start to get the competition bug. The upper management start to feel overwhelming nostalgia for the days of yore, and in an attempt to cross-promote their upcoming film tie in with Sony, The Wizard 2, Nintendo decide to resurrect the Nintendo World Championship

We've seen them make nods to it in NES Remix 2, but let's say they modernised it and decided to have a competition at this years E3 in a similar vein but instead using 3 newer/upcoming WiiU game segments which competitors would have to compete in a set amount of time. What three game segments do you think complement each other and would be worthy of tester a true player's skills (and award the winner with $250 and a trip to Universal)?

For reference, the 3 games in the original NWC were:

-Collect 50 coins in Super Mario Bros.
-Complete specialised Rad Racer course
-Tetris until time runs out

Each player had 6 minutes 21 seconds, and their score was given like so:
(Super Mario Bros. score) + (Rad Racer score x 10) + (Tetris score x 25) = Final score

My picks:

Super Mario 3D World - Mystery Box

Disabling the 10 second timers, of course, a set of mystery boxes from a selection of every Mystery Box house in SM3DW with plenty of coins to grab would to grand as an homage to SMW in the original NWC. Players will want to grab every coin they can, but will have to keep an eye on their time as they scramble to get through the mystery boxes as quickly as possible.

Mario Kart 8 - Mount Wario
I don't think I'd be causing a lot of controversy saying this is (at least from the non-DLC lot) the best track in Mario Kart 8. The issue with using Mario Kart 8 is there are no "points" per say, but I guess the track could be edited to include A LOT more coins which would be worth points. The course usually takes about 2 and a half minutes to complete, and players would be speeding down the mountain, trying to grab as many coins as possible.

Pikmin 3 - Tropical Forest
This is a pure score attack mode, with all the time remaining, players would utilise their full crop of Pikmin as best they could to secure as many treasures, fruits and enemy carcasses for those all important final points. This is where the champions will be made. Players have until their timer runs out to score as many points as they can.

There are, of course, a ton of alternative games they could use. Multi-man Smash, Splatoon single-player course, that F-Zero game that's definitely getting announced this year.

It must be Bill's account!

Seriously, though, I'd like to see a mix of games from ALL generations of Nintendo consoles. I think that would be most interesting.
