Who else would you vote for to make Half Life 3?

A comment in a HL3 thread got me thinking:

It seems like valve don't really make straight up AAA titles anymore but they still have this monster property in half life that's just sitting there doing nothing. So, unlikely and hypothetical as it is, what dev would you like to see take it on if they were to ever farm it out to someone else?

My vote goes to: Plati....no, 4A games. The Metro series does atmosphere and narrative so well and is a great shooter as well. They could do some interesting and innovative things with something like half life.

Bungie. Their fps are much better than the old guard. Not saying I want the Destiny experience though since hl is single player.
 
I don't think I'd be interested in it if anyone else made it. It's not like Half Life has some amazing story blowing the door off that NEEDS to be finished, yeah it had a cliffhanger and I'm curious but the plot itself has always been pretty vague, random, and pointless, it's the STORYTELLING that sold that part. I'd rather see other studios make projects they're passionate about, and I'd prefer Valve find their own passion again.

Yep, the story in Half Life works because it got so many mysterious, unexplained elements in it due to you being mostly on your own. I feel like another dev would screw that up by trying to explain stuff like the G-Man and all that jazz.
 
No one. I like a lot of different studios but l would rather have them do their own thing than make another HL game. As far as I'm concerned it's all been downhill since Blue Shift anyway. Let's let the series die in some semblance of dignity, please.
 
I'd happily accept a game made by Naughty Dog. Can't think of a better dev to handle the linear set piece driven structure with great dialogue that we love about Half Life. Maybe collab with the Portal guys to bring cool concepts for weaponry into the fold
 
Nobody is near righteous enough to wield this franchise other than Valve. If they won't do it, let it be lost to history.
