What is LIMBO?

LIMBO is the winner of two Independent Game Awards at GDC for Visual Art and Technical Excellence. LIMBO won 4 "Best of E3" awards from several known websites in the industry. LIMBO is a part of the Xbox Live Arcade "Summer of Arcade" promotion and will be launching July 21, 2010 for 1200 Microsoft Points.

Ok, that's fine, but you still haven't told me what LIMBO is!

In Catholic theology, Limbo (Latin limbus, edge or boundary, referring to the "edge" of Hell) is a speculative idea about the afterlife condition of those who die in original sin without being assigned to the Hell of the damned.

But more appropriately: LIMBO follows a little boy who travels to the edge of Hell in order to find out what happened to his sister. This boy will have to traverse deadly obstacles in order to unravel the mystery surrounding his sibling's fate. The game is a black and white side scrolling puzzle platformer set in a creepy heavily atmospheric environment.

I got really excited for this after watching the Giant Bomb quick look. The game looks great. So atmoshperic. I just wish it was 800 points instead of 1200.

was tester for a afternoon and was immideatly completely blown away.

awesome that they actually got to be a part of the summer of arcade promotion

CREEPY fucking art style. The Spider legs on the one screenshot are really freaky. I approve.

Is it just Xbox or coming out on Steam as well?

From what I understand, there's no narrative, but the "story" is told through your character's interactions. In other words, as you journey through Limbo, your visual clues give you small details about where you actually are and what may have happened.

I've been following this one since a few Giantbombcast ago. The way Drew and Vinny explained it piqued my interests(I liked games like Flashback and Out of this world). Then seeing the quick look sold me on it.

I can't believe people will complain about the game being 15 bucks. It looks so awesome. I can't wait until next week.

Why sell something for 800 points when there are hundreds of thousands of people willing to pay 1200 points for it?

I'm really excited for this game. What are avatar rewards? Are they unlocked by playing the game? I guess I don't play enough 360, but I recall a first aid pack from L4D or something.

Super excited for this one since the day I watched the game in motion. The art style is absolutely beautiful. This may end up being my favorite game of the summer. Can't wait!

One is a Limbo T-shirt that is unlocked at the same time you get one of the achievements and the other is a pet that I'm not quite sure what it is, but hoping its that mean looking spider. Dont know when that one unlocks.

One of my most anticipated games of the year. :D

Cannot wait to get into this.

I would suggest people who haven't check out the trailer for it. Seeing those spiders move is even more creepy.

okay, just saw the videos and this game looks great. the visual look is incredible...will definitely look into picking it up.

quick question - is this a 360 exclusive? (not that it matters - just wondering)

Fixed for personal opinion. Sure, I should buy Red Dead and Mass Effect 2..... But they'll keep dropping and I cannot wait to play this. Day one fer shur. :D
