THQ claim No1 on the All Formats chart for the first time since week 22, 2009 (UFC 2009: Undisputed) with a shiny new FPS called ‘HomeFront’ from Kaos Studios (360/PS3/PC).

Those with long memories might remember Kaos’ first boxed release ‘Frontlines: Fuel of War’ on 360/PC which debuted at No4 in week 9, 2008. On Xbox 360 ‘HomeFront’ is certainly performing well considering that in week 1 in the UK it manages to sell around 82% of what Frontlines on 360 achieved over 3 years. EA’s ‘Dragon Age II’ drops to No2 (-68%) and Nintendo’s ‘Pokemon White’ also drops one place to No3 (-47%). Sega’s PC ‘Shogun 2: Total War’ by Creative Assembly debuts strongly at No4 and was in fact a Tuesday release in week 11. Such was the demand for this title (if you were a fan of ‘Shogun: Total War’ you have only had to wait 11 years for this sequel) that almost 80% of retail boxed sales were made in the first 24 hours.

Also new this week is 2K Sports/Take 2’s ‘Top Spin 4’ on 360/PS3/Wii which debuts at No13, the previous iteration debuted one place higher at No12 back in week 25, 2008. The final new entry this week is Sega’s ‘Yakuza 4’ on PS3, debuting at No25, with previous iteration also debuting one place higher at No24 back in week 10, 2010.

Good to see Homefront at the top.

Black Ops needs some new maps it's dropping.

Bulletstorm PS3 no where to be seen. Bulletstorm 2 Xbox 360 exclusive confirmed

Killzone 3 still holding.

Pokemon's still holding it's own!

Does anyone reckon with the 3DS coming on Friday to the EU that the next set of results will be a DS fest in one way or another?

Looks like the Yakuza fanbase didn't change for the better or the worse. The third game opened similar.

Hmm, was selfishly hoping for fast price drop! This will be my first ever Yakuza game :)

- Not seen any Bulletstorm or KZ3 adverts this week so they are selling due to work of mouth at this point, both are turds.
- LBP2 was cheaper online this week again, fantastic game.
- Kirby continues to bombard the TV with adverts and to a lesser extent UDraw.
- GT5 is out of the top 40, still not cut price.
- Went to local Sainsburys, 3DS could still be pre-ordered but not at GAME.

The special edition was on sale for £39.99 (down from £99.99) last week.

That's Killzone 3 he's talking about, where the fuck was the special edition being sold for £100 originally? Daylight robbery. :(

Kirby's Epic Legs in action here as it rises up the charts yet again
I guess when they wanted to make another game in the same vein as Okami, they wanted to replicate the sales too :(

HMV. It was exclusive to HMV, in fact.

Definitely saw KZ3 ads on Channel 5 movies last night, so they're still running some at least.

Don't know where your from but killzone 3 has insane amounts of ads here in london its on nearly every newspaper, bus, billboard and tons ads on TV. Its one the most advertised game since bioshock 2(insane train station ads).

The difference between 360and PS3 versions is bigger than it used to be. I wonder why that is.

It's different per game, but it's obvious that Killzone is eating up the shooter market on PS3 in the UK right now.

360 versions used to outsell PS3 one by 25%, more or less. Now it's on average more than that , I think. Maybe recent PS3 exclusives satisfy PS3 owners, maybe 360 sold more consoles over Holiday season and we can see the results at the moment.
Homefront PS3 + Killzone3 < 80% Homefront 360, FWIW

Outside of Dragon Age, the sports games are selling about on par as usual. The shooters are showing right now a skew likely because of Killzone 3 which is high up there on the chart for several weeks while the multiplat shooters on ps3 are lower. It's probably not a good time for comparison especially with how heavy KZ3 is being pimped right now

So Pokemon White is @ ~27% of its week 1 sales...

Okamiden is avaialble at retail. Its £29.99 in HMV and £24.99 in Blockbuster. Of course Supermarkets don't stock it as its small fry and GAME Group becuase well "We're the specialist game store...says on the sheet its online only, crappy head office decision, even if you want to pay £12 more for a gutted copy we're not going to let you as head office have decided that isn't profitable" (of course moment anything goes wrong with the business its the foot staffs fault for not selling enough 3DS and volcano insurance or 3rd party pre-owned RF adaptors for PS3).

As for Kirby. It is £24.99 on Amazon.co.uk and Game.co.uk (latter gives you double reward points so its sort of like a £1.25 discount on top). Do in-store prices reflect this?

Whats the other 1% on?
The same thing the other 4% of the Dragon Age 2 sales are on...
at least it doesn't equal over 100%

Dragon Age is not a sports game.
FIF 360 outsold FIFA PS3 by nearly 70%. Test Drive Unlimited 360 outsold the PS3 version by over 2:1 in previous weeks. The pattern is really strong now overall.

Maybe I'll pick it up for dirt cheap in the Christmas Steam Sale.

So basically you sold out a game you didn't play? Why would you be fine if the PS3 never got another Bulletstorm game if you never played the retail version?
