EA’s highly anticipated ‘Crysis 2’ enters at the top of the All Formats Chart this week with EA’s biggest launch of the year so far. The successful PC gaming franchise from German developer ‘Crytek’ comes to consoles for the first time with Xbox 360 accounting for 57% of ‘Crysis 2’ sales, ahead of PS3 with 29% and PC 14%.

LucasArts’ ‘Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars’ is also another new entry, debuting at No2 ahead of last week’s No1 ‘HomeFront’ which drops to No3. It’s a big week for new releases thanks in a large part to the launch of Nintendo’s new 3DS console. 11 out of the 16 new 3DS games launched this week feature in the All Formats Top 40 with 4 represented in the Top 10. ‘Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition’ is the top selling 3DS launch title, a new entry at No4, ahead of ‘PilotWings Resort’ at No6 and ‘Rayman 3D’ at No9, while ‘Lego Star Wars III’ on 3DS features with its other formats. There were 12 new games on 3DS-only while 4 others (Lego, Sims 3, PES 2011 and Madden) all charted alongside their other formats. The other new entry (out of the 6 to make it into the Top 10 this week) is ‘The Sims: Medieval’ which debuts at No8, while Square’s new PSP title ‘Dissidia 012: Final Fantasy’ launches at No24. New 3DS versions mean ‘The Sims 3’ and ‘Pro Evolution Soccer 2011’ shoot up the chart, landing at No’s 17 and 18. It is refreshing to see that the Top 6 selling 3DS titles are all from different publishers.

So Crysis 2 (UK) > Dragon Age 2 and Dead Space 2, despite never appearing on consoles before.

Well done Crytek, though it seems to have struggled in the Netherlands compared to Homefront.

Crytek getting some of that Console money well done to them. Homefront seems to be doing very well on 360 surprised it beat out Crysis 2 for the PS3.

And it looks like Nintendomination is back as well.

The Sims 3D charted. Surprising to say the least.

10 3DS titles making their debut during launch is very good. The original DS didn't have that many titles charting if memory serves right.

Lol, Pokemon swap!
Kinect out again, didn't expect that, also Dragon Age II is not performing well (only one week in top10 at #4 abd #5). But it seems this week data was altered by major retailers promotions on LBP2 and FIFA11. It's crazy that 1 year later NSMB Wii is still getting commercials aired every day on the most important networks with multiple timeslots. Wii and Nintendo completely changed the game as far as game advertising goes, something like this was totally unheard of before Mario Kart Wii.

Well it is retail. For PC games more money is made on the digital side now than at retail. The total number of concurrent unique users playing the game on Steam is fairly high.

Doesn't seem right does it. Maybe a mistake.

Edit - Wait... Italy too?

There is a 360 hardware bundle with Homefront.
Maybe is being counted, like Kinect adventures with Kinect

Edit: probably not since it'd have a separate entry "Xbox 360 250GB console with Homefront" like they do for Wii Fit Plus with balance board and Wii Fit Plus solo.

I have to say I couldn't find a boxed copy of Shogun II the other day both in GAME near Victoria nor Blockbuster in Pimlico. Maybe it didn't have a second shipment yet?
But we knew numbers would go downdown for week2, 80% of the sell-thru of the game was in the first 24hours. It's up to DD numbers now.

The box art is terrible and the same is poorly managed by Sega. I didn't even know The Creative Assembly was dvoloping another game.

Not surprising since early adopters usually know their stuff.

Apparently they don't or Ghost Recon would have sold better.

Anyway, I guess Capcom will be really happy with the performance of SSF4. I guess their support for the platform will probably continue to be strong for the platform. Now all I need them to do is announce Monster Hunter for the thing.

That's a lot of Homefront. I wonder how much of a big success this will be for THQ when it comes to the end of the year. Bilson must be relieved right now.

Intresting to see DS2 selling more in it's second month. Both of the 360 and PS3 versions show up quite high while in January only the 360 version managed to get at #9.

I choose not to add the LTD because they might be missing some months, and even games that have appeared every month since launch may be incomplete because I suspect the December top 10 posted by Famitsu was missing one week.

But, well, at least it helps give an idea to people how much these games have sold (and they should be right at least for the games released this year).

Fair enough. I didnt know december was missing a week.

Well at least the games i posted the LTDs made it to the top 10 every month since launch, so it must be pretty close.

Terrible start for Motorstorm. The legs of Killzone compared to Bulletstorm are interesting, I thought Bulletstorm would have fared better.

WTF at Zumba Fitness? This year's Just Dance? Also those 3DS software sales are really not good; I know there's always a drop after first week but really? No sign of anything Kinect for consecutive weeks makes me think it's going to be big at holidays at not really significant anywhere else.
Shit at MS3 sales, looks like Evolution will be next on Sony's chopping block. That's what tip-toeing around release dates will do. Perhaps the game will do better going forward now that a handful actually know the game's out.

I think there might be some truth to the bolded, but how much other software is on the list that came out in October? It's been a long time since we saw any new Kinect software. I'm sure that has something to do with it.
