My tastes in film usually go hand-in-hand with Rolfe's, and I enjoy MM every year.

Ditto. I even picked up the Cinemassacre app for 1.99. It's really nice and updates quickly. Saves me the trouble of needing to check Gametrailers or his site.

Not exactly sure what his taste is, as he seems to just watch and like everything film wise.
Nothing wrong with that. Then again I generally avoid stuff I don't think I'd like, so I guess it raises the barrier for coming across something I despise.

Hey, I've been waiting for this thread to pop up! :p Thanks Flying_Phoenix! His Monster Madness videos are always beefy with information. Makes me heart James even more that he is dedicated to films more than I am.

He likes a bit of everything but his main focus is horror films.

Ugh, he uses Flash for video. Update your site dammit!

Looking forward to watching when I'm at a PC (currently on mobile).

I really love his MM specials. I never studied much about movies and so it's really interesting to hear the stories behind some of the classic horror movies. Sometimes I don't really agree with him (I thought he was really harsh on Critters) but he knows movies inside and out and it's very fascinating.

Like I never knew till now that Frankenstein in one of the sequels was originally gonna be blind, which is why he walked with his arms hanging out stumbling into things.

A full week of Christopher Lee. :)

I really appreciate Rolfe for doing this. It must a huge amount of work and all of the vids so far have been really entertaining.

I don't know if its just me but it doesn't sound like James was "into it" these past two videos. Other than that, his videos are really informative though I would like to see him review different horror sequels other than sticking with one monster a week ramble.

Taste the Blood of Dracula

I'm already getting sick of the Hammer films of Dracula!!!! But seeing the Count from Sesame Street in this video made me happy, lol.
It's not difficult to see why, all of the Hammer Dracula sequels mentioned so far follow the same formula. A group of people accidentally (or purposefully) resurrect Dracula, he goes around killing and snarling, and a protagonist finds a surprisingly convenient way to kill him. Rinse and repeat with the next group of people.

Scars of Dracula

I think I can see/understand where the influences of Castlevania came from now. These fucking Hammer movies of Dracula where he is resurrected and dies randomly just like the games. According to IMDB, there should be 3 more movies about Dracula involving Christopher Lee.

I wonder what movie series James will do for week three?

I wouldn't mind seeing him do something on one of the 80's era monster villians, like all of the Freddy movies. But I think he is more of a fan of the Friday the 13th series so I'm thinking he may go with that instead of Freddy. Or maybe the whole Living Dead series.

It sounds like the first two or three are good, while the rest (so far) suffer from the plot recycling problem I mentioned earlier. "Dracula's been resurrected! Put him down again... with a twist!"

I think it's mainly the cast that was good. You can't beat Lee and Cushing.

I watched Dracula A.D. 1972 over the summer with some friends. We laughed at pretty much all of the things he complained about. The funk soundtrack, the weirdly long opening dance number, and such. We actually missed the "running water" explanation, so we were kind of perplexed as to how Alucard died.

Too much Dracula...

The horror genre is massively diverse when it comes to characters and monsters wasting half a month of just one if very boring.
