The Order: 1886 - New Gameplay Footage Released Before Embargo

Ryudo

My opinion? USED.
All the Xbox One fans pop in the thread to leave a little insult after watching the amazing video of The Order 1886.

"Look like Gears and Ryse Son of Rome.."

Quantamn Break suffered the same type of hate....just another Gears Of War type shooter....

Peeps gotta get their hate heard I guess?

This looks fantastic by the way.

Woke up to this footage after being blown away by the 2 leaked gifs last night.

Cannot fathom how this is running on the PS4, especially as it's a first generation title. Those guys at RAD must have some incredibly talented programmers working for them.

The art style and design of everything is also quite fantastic, and the atmosphere seems perfectly realised for 18th Century London.

Hoping the trailer shows off a bit more variation in locales / gameplay and the final game features the aforementioned horror focus as well as just fighting solders in narrow streets. Also itching to see the real time destructibility that's been discussed before.

Anyway overall the graphics look mind-blowing, the setting is cool and if the gameplay and horror elements talked about in last years previews are properly realised, this could be a truly remarkable TPS experience.

If I were Sony, I would encourage reps at Sony Events to ask reporters, "Have you seen The Order:1866?" What an absolutely amazing start for the PS4!

Well that effortlessly walked on top of the Witcher and everything else I have seen regarding visuals.

First time my mouth has been agape. Truly incredible achievement.

I'm not seeing what y'all are seeing obviously.

It looks good. Environment/setting is really cool. But yea, I don't get what people are going gaga over. Certainly nothing that effortlessly walks over Witcher 3. I'm actually still more impressed by Killzone.

Lets see. A game set on old real life London. Aiming to be a truly cinematic experience.
But the characters have guns...

...so it may end up like DmC gameplay. All enemies coming to you on an open space and you dodging and killing everyone of them : D

HELL NO. If it has to be real, YOU CANT go 1 vs all and tank bullets from everyone.
A cover shooter is the logical setting for this.

I think the Witcher looks incredible but its visuals have improved along the lines of what we expect. Great modeling and textures but nothing that looks like a leap. The cloth dynamics coupled with the animation and DOF here is staggering.

If you look closely you can see the light of the 'walkie talkie' device reflecting off the guy's neck armour.

I feel like amazing technical graphics don't impress me that much anymore. They're certainly very nice, but I was underwhelmed by the gameplay shown. That's just my first impression though, it's very possible it'll turn out to be a decent game.

Indeed, this is turning out way better than I could hope.

When I first saw the first teaser I thought: oh, interesting setting but the real game will probably look nothing like this...

Well this isn't a repurposed Kinect-in Gladiator Maximus so I think we should be safe in that regard . At the very least it should be a competent game..... I hope.

I hope so too. Even though I'm a bit tired of the genre, the setting is quite exciting and I can go for a good cinematic shooter from time to time. Especially if it looks as gorgeous as this one.

holy shit, but would like a version without the annoying voice
LOL same.

Yeah, I wish there was more focus on gameplay design instead of graphics when things were being publicised and discussed on here as well. Hard to do with little information though.

I think it looks much better than killzone. The lighting is more natural looking than flashy lens flares.

Animations, character models and cloth physics are better too. Plus those taches yo

Love the visual style and atmosphere. It's great when the tech allows that art to be full realized. Simply gorgeous.

It reminds me of Gears 1, but with 19th century English gentlemen and werewolves (?). I fucking love it.

I think because of the high level of AA coupled with a ton of lens filters / volumentic effects ect - it gives the game a soft CG look. I've never seen that in a game before, closest thing is probably Ryse but that doesn't look anywhere near as accomplished in terms of lighting / character models / animation.

Stuff like Killzone looks amazing but still has a very 'gamey' look rather than a flat out 'CG in motion' presentation.

Game looks stunning. Holy shit. I dont know how people can come to conclusions about the gameplay just yet. We've only seen like 30 seconds of combat and one QTE.

The post processing and motion blur combined with the lighting and models produces an image that looks rather pre-rendered in motion. It looks like mid-level CG and that's impressive.

I think the reason people are so astounded is because this game looks like CGI or its graphics are done in such a style to achieve CGI like visuals.

This is not a criticism of you, but of the english language. It always seems odd to me when people say a game looks like CG. It is CG, just not pre rendered CG.

/stupid english language moan.

Carry on :)

My only complaint is the rough transitions in and out of cover. Other than that, I am having a hard time processing that the game looks the same in cut scenes and gameplay. My brain is being an ass.
I think the transitions in and out of cover look a bit weird because it doesn't look like it uses a 'snap-to' cover system a la Gears or Uncharted.

This looks fantastic by the way.

There were people actually complaining that Quantum Break looks like a Gears of War shooter? What in the world...

The whole 'this game looks just like another TPS' argument is rather contrived imo.

Looks amazing *hugs ps4*. Really wanna see some extended gameplay footage though, what time does the embargo lift? Will the official trailer be up on Gamersyde?

Oh I know, but it's an acronym people associate with offline rendered media and easy to use when typing on a phone.

What we've seen is a graphical showcase, and I'm not disappointed! People trying to draw conclusions about anything other than graphics from this one tiny clip are insane. I spat my drink out when I read 'It's literally just a corridor shooter'.

Yeah, though I don't blame them. Long ago "gameplay trailers" actually showcased gameplay that was unique to that game and gave us something to get excited for. These days the emphasis is on graphics and storytelling.

Months away babayyyy. Polish that ish real nice, RD. This game will look even more glorious. I'm also really interested with the small details in lighting, soft body physics and all sorts of sexy simulations they have going on.

Because I wanna be wowed with gameplay AND graphics, I want to see a game where it makes me wonder, wtf thats crazy, never knew you could do that.

Kind of like TLOU did with animation.

How about being WOWed by a damn good TPS?
Why do devs have to "innovate" in every damn videogame?
What's next? What do you need? Making a somersault in front of the PS4 camera everytime we have to jump The Order: 1886? Throwing our shoes against the touchpad of the PS4 as soon as we wanna kick a badguy in the nuts?

These ~where are teh innovatez~ shoutouts, whenever a new game got announced, are super annoying. If you want experimental stuff for the sake of innovation, play Tearaway.

Gameplay looks boring and unoriginal. Graphics are fucking unbelievable. I've never seen a game that looks this close to CG.

I definitely agree. As good as this looks and it does look good, it just doesn't wow me as past graphical showpieces from previous consoles have. I don't know why. Perhaps the jump was bigger each time going from one console to the next. I guess I just want to see something new in terms of gameplay that we haven't seen before.

Technically it looks as good as the E3 trailer which is impressive, but the drab color palette and small environments takes the wow factor somewhat away. Overall it does not look any more impressive then other upcoming next gen games.

They are going for the realistic Victorian setting as much as possible. I'm sorry, but back then. With so many factory pollution. The place wasn't sunshine and rainbow with colors you know?

And it's one tiny part of the a trailer that is like 3 mins. Other area might be bigger. They were in some slim looking corridors. I don't know about you, but slum usually don't have wide open places.

Uncharted 3-like scripted/cinematic gameplay elements bundled with well known (GoW) cover-based shooter mechanics in a stylized european retro setting? Since, I played most parts of the above mentioned two series, I'm totally ok with that.

Hoping todays trailer will feature lots of small gameplay snippets highlighting different locations / enemies and weapons. I don't want everything spoiled upfront like some of Sony's trailers are known for, but a broad stroke of what to expect would be fantastic.

Show off the horror elements.
The destructibility.
The detective elements that are rumoured.
If there are scenes with big crowds like the artwork has shown I'd love to see those.
The weapons that have been talked about other than the rifle from the B-roll.

Basically a montage trailer.

May be a little early to promote the full game yet but I can dream… October / November is such a long time to wait for this!

Looks super clean and the lighting makes it feel a real place and world, super impressive I have to say.

Gameplay I need to see more of, oviously.

Looks fantastic. Also liking what I'm hearing about making the transition between CG and gameplay seamless. Always wanted more games to attempt it after Lost Odyssey, so I'm glad to see someone pick up the torch.

for the 137372376253783247682387244327832784 milion times, there's no cg in the game it's all real time!
