u, just u!
Damn did he call all of neogaf assholes? Lmao this is too good.
:lol :lol :lol
A pixel is made up of sub-pixels. Just because you can't see the sub-pixel, doesn't mean his pixel calculation is off. Please tell me where I'm wrong (seriously) since my arguments (basically I can't see individual color dots at 1m from a 70") wouldn't allow me to see the difference between a 720p and 1080p movie at 3m distance (games is different as mentioned with aliasing....)
This. A thousand times this. I really don't get why the games journalism folk seem to have such animosity to the people they make content for. Yes there are some fuckwits out there who give you constant shit (deservedly at times) but don't paint us all with the same bloody brush!
Most gamers out there are comparing it like this. As if it was Static images. Wallpapers, screenshots.bullcorn to the extreme. I'm on a 24 inch and the difference is obvious to anyone with eyes.
That would be assuming it is about films.
Games are a different story.
Genius!
Oh look it's Anthony Gallegos. The guy that got a job at Zombie Studios 3 months after giving Blacklight: Retribution a 8.5 in his IGN review (2nd highest review for the game).
Have I been an anal asshole about this Anthony?
I think these guys get way to much flak. They sometimes do say stupid things like this but I can tell its only to please the one minded folk that listen. They aren't some mindless Microsoft fanboys and they do have a lot of criticism about the xbox one, but that stuff doesn't get blown up. They say Microsoft screwed up power wise and will never be up to par with the ps4, but they say 900p should be the minimum. They even go as far to say why would someone with both consoles buy the xbox multiplat over the ps4 multiplat when one is native 1080 and one is upscaled. They compare the $499 price tag to the $399 and say it makes more sense for people to go with the ps4 when they can only get one.
Just my thought that they get quoted for the idiotic things they say, but I've listened to the majority of their podcasts and they do have valid criticisms about the xbox one and obviously they say positive things because that's their preference.

By the way, this is complete bullshit. Why did you post this thread in another message board, then, if you don't care at all about this "stuff"?

There you are, discussing pop-up in Infamous Second Son:
Did you perhaps change your mind regarding technical issues somewhere between then and now?

It's different when there is an upscaler and the game is in motion. You can hardly tell the difference. If both of the games are running side by side.
Alright, fine, let's do some optics calculations.
I'm sorry, IGN, but you'll need to retake this class. I'll be giving the lectures, and I'm requiring you to sit an additional 10.171 feet away from the whiteboard.
- A 50" screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio is about 43.579 inches (1.112m) wide by 24.513 (0.623m) tall.
- At 1920x1080, the pixels would be 0.0227 inches (0.579mm) wide and tall. At 1280x720, they're 0.034 inches. (0.864mm)
- The typical resolution for a human eye with 20/20 vision is about 2 arcminutes per line pair.
- This means a feature is no longer resolvable when it's 10,801 times further away from the eye than it is tall/wide. (2 arcminutes / 360 degrees = 10801.08)
- On a 50" display with a 1080p resolution, individual pixels can no longer be resolved if the viewer is 20.432 feet (6.228m) away from the screen. For the same display at 720p, it's 30.603 feet (9.328m).

I don't know who Anthony Gallegos is, but did he just call me an "anal asshole"?

Or did I misread your RGB (not yellow) thing?
I can't tell the difference between 720p and 792p Mitch is redeemed.Funny all this talk just started out of nowhere as we get closer to Titanfall's launch.
