No. http://www.gamersyde.com/news_tgs_wolfenstein_gameplay-14652_en.html

16:9, 60fps on all platforms, 15-20h SP campaign with heavy focus on charachter building [expected from devs of Riddick&Darkness1], no MP.

And this is a reason to be hyped, I don't know who they got on board over there, but these guys really understand good VA, performances, narrative, etc
They can make you give a shit with little else except good, natural sounding dialog and delivery.
Once again, see Riddick and The Darkness

Glad this is coming out so soon. Would have been a long wait until the end of the year. Destiny already feels ages away.

Should be an awesome game.

Is the game supernatural at all? That literally will be the deciding factor if I play it or not.

I'm all for robo dogs and Mecha Hitlers but that's where I draw the line.

As far as I know this one stays away from the supernatural stuff.

Starbreeze made my two favorite FPS games and this looks like it retails the elements of character interactions and interesting first person animations so I'm really excited about it. Plus DoomNu still exists so yay!

I really want to pre-order this for the pc (and i probably will if the price is about 20-25e) but i am worried about id tech 5 issues that were common in Rage such as the game looking beautiful from afar yet the textures looking horrendous from up close, texture streaming issues (those were greatly alleviated at some point but still perceivable), capped 60 fps, etc.

Hell i noticed those texture streaming issues in that gamestar.de vid at around 1:14-1:16 but i hope it's because this is an early build or smthng.

I guess i'll wait and see but i'd appreciate it if they could release a pc preview detailing the options menu and showing some bits of gameplay; especially rapid 180 degree turns and target acquisition in various environments.

Raven made great SP campaigns, but MP was definitely not their strong suit.

It's no wonder that CoD MP has gone to shit since Raven has been involved. It's not all their fault, but they're certainly not making it better. Their largest involvement in the franchise yet has been Ghosts MP, and I think it's the worst of the entire franchise.

Raven had nothing to do with Wolf 2009's multiplayer. They only worked on the singleplayer.

I really hope this doesn't have pop in texture detail, Rage was really bad that made stop playing it because of it, and among other things but that was something I just can't deal with.

No pop in please, PS4 is powerfull enough to not have that horrendous thing.

I had to ignore the pop-in. Really was disappointed how bad it was though. Turning your head would always unleash the pop-in.

Actually the PS4s harddrive makes it even more likely. It is just 5400 RPM.

Read all the previews, it seems some critics will appreciate the dark humour and tonal shifts, while some think it should be sticking to one. Not enough of them mention the shooting feedback and not needing ADS.

Wasn't the texture streaming stuff in RAGE an issue because it was open world? Would be weird if that showed up for such a game.Either way, the 60fps will make me forget that hopefully if it does show up.

Preview of Wolfenstein in German is best preview. The commentary while sneaking up behind the guards was hilarious.

Yeah, that sounded hilarious even not knowing what they were saying.

"Scooting up a ladder, I discovered a sniper rifle tucked away in a hidden cache. Then, zip-lining across to another building, I discovered a second sniper rifle. Wolfenstein: The New Order’s respect for its own internal logic is such that, yes, you can dual-wield sniper rifles. Of course you can! You might not be able to look down the scope, and it’s far less accurate, but it’d be a lesser game if you couldn’t do it."

From the pcgamer article.

I need this.

I got a chance to preview this too a few weeks ago. Here are my thoughts too:

  • We played the first 3 chapters of the game on the PS4. The game, at that time, ran at a fairly solid 60 FPS with a few hitches here and there. No idea of the games internal resolution, but TV was outputting 1080P. Overall it looks good. In some areas the game is pretty standard and what one should expect for a current-gen (PS4) title, but I would say it's not quite as good looking as something BF4 or Killzone:SF. There are some aspects that, I think, look just as good though. Particularly the character models and faces--They are really well done! The modeling and animations are some of the most impressive work in the game.
  • The voice acting is convincing and enjoyable--although at times can be a little over the top, but I suppose that's what they're going for--however in some cased it really is fantastic! I think the characters in this game are going to be colorful and exciting to watch what they might do next.
  • The running'n gunning feels good, and the shooting is satisfying. Duel-wield is in and works as I expect--no ironsight. Leaning works as expected too.
  • There's some stealthy aspect to the game and it was fun to use, but it's not possible to be stealthy all the time. Some (most?) instances call for guns blazing, but I'm sure no one really expects stealth to be that prevelant.
  • The skill and upgrade system doesn't follow a path. You can unlock additional skills by performing actions, for instance 10 headshots with a pistol unlocks a silencer. There are several categories like Stealth, Guns and Health (or something), and you can unlock some of these before the 1st tier. It was kind of strange.
  • Turrets. Yup. Multiple instances in the first 3 chapters, however most are optional (you can use your own guns if you choose, but why waste the ammo you're carrying?) Plus you can detach the turret, so it's not all that bad I suppose...but still...turrets. :(

Overall: Frankly after playing the first chapter, I was disappointed. It was mediocre, banal, and what I would expect for a game that was just trying to eek by. However (!) once BJ wakes up in a makeshift hospital 14 years after WW2 learning things have change drastically, I quickly was pleased. I'm very interested if a resistance exists out there now that the Nazis essentially rule the world, and if BJ will find them.

Minor spoiler (but one I found really interesting and probably not a shocker, but just in case), that's revealed at the end of chapter 3 (regards narrative):
BJ finds out The USA has surrendered to the Nazis when he wakes up. More please!

BRILLIANT!

So, you unlock new stuff through achievement-esque actions rather than straight XP grind? That's kinda awesome

The shooting looks so satisfying. I really hope it is as enjoyable as it looks. Though I'm a little disappointed that there won't be much, if any, supernatural stuff in the game.

The last wolfenstein was actually pretty good. It's a shame the series doesn't get more love. This game's pedigree alone merits a purchase from me.

The hit feedback on human enemies looks good, as does all that ridiculous dual wielding. I have no doubt that the characters + voice acting will be entertaining, so my only reservations as of now are how intrusive the cutscenes are and how meaty the game will be in content. I still think that leaked footage from QuakeCon (?) of BJ fighting his way across some kind of bridge in a lengthy stretch of gameplay is the best the game has looked so far, and I hope they've built many sections like that.

Read all the previews, it seems some critics will appreciate the dark humour and tonal shifts, while some think it should be sticking to one. Not enough of them mention the shooting feedback and not needing ADS.

If they're actually going for that genuine B-movie, grindhouse flavor instead of a purely comedic homage to the style, tone shifts should be seen as a good thing. There's no reason the game shouldn't be able to take itself seriously at points while still being completely over the top. When it starts to feel at odds is if the game becomes referential, or pokes fun at itself because "lol Nazi dogs and experiments." That's when you'll start to feel like "Well if the game isn't buying into any of this, what's the point of the more serious/gruesome sections?" That is unless it's looking inward at the genre and trying to make a point, which i don't think is the goal here.
