According to Greg retweet, Walmart is already selling Infamous Second son. So try your luck out.

Unless your wal-marts have third world computers they won't sell you the copies because when you ring up something isn't supposed to be out it will say on the screen "Do not sale". I run into this problem all time at my wal-mart and kmart when they put games out early.

I even had a lady try to override it and it wouldn't let her and she couldn't sell it to me unless it rang up.

I always play the inFAMOUS games twice so the short length (for an open world game) doesn't bother me that much. As long as the game is FUN to play, I don't care about the length. I beat Metal Gear Rising Revengeance (hard mode) in under 5 hours yet I had so much fun playing that game, I felt the $60 I spent on it was well worth it.

Can you guys keep discussions about length of game, number of powers, details on side missions, etc in the spoiler thread please? That's what it's for.

The length of a game is not a spoiler an should never be consider one.

Everything else I can agreed.

U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
The lowest seen is 9 hours and I think the highest was 14 or 15, both not 100% complete though.

I'm not asking for pure hours. I'm asking for a direct comparison to previous games in the series. I tend to differ greatly from other people when it comes to hours completion in open world games. I often spend a lot of time messing around making no real progress. Just listing the average hour completion means nothing to me. For example it took me over 70 hours to beat GTA V and even then I still had tons of side content to do. Most people likely got through the game significantly faster than that.

Basically what I'm asking is that if I didn't consider Infamous 1 and 2 short or lacking in side content would I think the same of Second Son? Or is it literally a step down from those games content wise?

Oh sorry about.

I cant answer that question for you unfortunately.

but infamous 2 had one. this doesn't; ergo, it is less than its predecessor. or some such nonsense.

Nothing like that, but multiplayer components seemed hinted at. It was implemented in Infamous 2 for a reason, so its lack of implementation in a sequel is interesting.

It isn't nonsense, btw.

Far as I know Cole's Legacy is downloadable by preorder code only, so basically the retailer has to supply the code to download. Meaning, again from what I know, all these early copies will not have access unless the seller provided a code.

I could be wrong. Did anyone that got it from Cheetah have an insert inside the game for Cole's Legacy?

It's an insert in the case from what I've seen of photos posted on here.

[edit]

Found the pic

Thanks guys. Guess it'll be the SE after all. Don't wanna miss out.

The limited Edition comes with the bonus extra Cole missions explaining the events between the end of InFAMOUS 2 and Second son right?

Do you get to play as Cole in any of these and are they worthwhile?

As someone in the UK I'm considering just preordering from the US PSN store to get the DLC free. Question is will I get $10 back with the promotion running if I only spend $59.99?

So is it day time for a majority of the game, or do the missions dictate the time? Or is there an active day/night cycle constantly at work?

Game looks amazing but I am concerned about length, lack of things to do after the end of the story, lack of side things to do. can see reviewers really marking the game down for a lack of content compared to most open world games.

When will people be allowed to review this (officially)?

I remember the days when game reviews would come out weeks or even months before the game hit store shelves..now it's like 2-3 days before the game is out.

Anyone who has beaten it, rate it out of 10?

Any idea how you think this will metacritic?

To me, it seems high 70s, low 80s (before playing).

Better than the other Infamous games?

So far most of people said it's a better inFAMOUS game. inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2 metacritic scores are 85 and 83 respectively. So it would be logical to have a medium/high 80, no?

I don't think so, try adding a PS1 classic to your basket though for a few cents to get the voucher.

I Heard a lot of people are buying I:SS special edition in the uk from Tescos as they have some special offer for new online customers of £10 off, so you can grab it for £50. Which is still pricey, but it has DLC and a Beanie.

Walmart registers won't ring street dated product through early eothout manual override. Sometimes you get lucky though.

Ooh, thank you for the heads up!

Edit: Wait, is this promotion still running?

Edit 2: The only thing I've found for that promotion has expired, and the new one (£15 off for orders over £60) seems to specify that it's for grocery orders :( I'll still try it out though!

Do people have to preorder second son from very specific places to get access to Cole's Legacy DLC?
I don't think so, for the US it seems to come with every Limited Edition.

People are already beating it? Awesome! That's good news imo.. for me If the game is fun enough to actually finish that speaks more then any score to me.. I barely finish games ... Only the good ones.

I don't know it anyone posted this yet but, the FPS drops into single digits while using the neon Karma Streak. The initial blast causes a lot of destruction and the drop lasts about 3 seconds.

FPS drops into low 20s if you intentionally do quick 180s while on top of a building.

I've been using the neon karma streak a lot, and it has never dropped into the single digits for me.

I obtained the third power last night. I never would have guessed it; so good job there SP, but honestly neon is still my favorite power. Once you (minor spoiler about the neon power)
upgrade it so you can run unlimited
it's just godlike.

Same.
