For infamous games, when people say it took them about 10 hours to beat a game (for example) then I think of the game actually being about 18-20 ish hours in length since I play through them both on good and evil.

I assume it's real time; all the cutscenes have looked of the same quality to me, so I'm not sure when those four take place. As far as gameplay models; I think the cutscense charters may be slighter better. They may be pushing more polys/have higher detail, but it's hard to tell because you never really get that zoomed in during gameplay. The character models looks really good when you're playing though. The model below is somewhat zoomed in on the first screen, but a lot of the fine detail is lost due to compression. The most zoomed in you'll likely get is during the orbital drop, I'll let you be the judge below.

Yes; it's very minor but it's story related and not in any of the released footage.

So what I understood, some powers are locked behind the side you chose (Good or Evil) like Infamous 2. Is it possible to gain all powers in single run?

I´m actually fine with the supposed length of the game. I really lack of gaming time in this day and age, so 10 hours is pretty good for me. I can understand of this being an issue for some people, tough.

Wow some of those inFAMOUS 2 screenshots look bad! I swear I platinumed that game and I never noticed any of those AA issues...I thought it looked very good for an open world game and was a huge improvement over inFAMOUS 1.

I guess I was having too much fun to notice ^^

The game looks much better in motion (as all games do). That's all there is to it.

Should I play inFamous 2 before I get this? I only played the original. I went back and played it a little a few days ago and it isn't as good as I remember.

For those who are already playing - can you have two separate saves going at once? I'd really like to bounce back and forth between a good playthrough and an evil playthrough.

You don't need to, but I highly recommend it! The combat and powers are a huge improvement over inFAMOUS 1. Also in inFAMOUS 2 there are many more destructible environments.

Really the only thing inFAMOUS 1 does better than 2 is the story, but overall I would say 2 is the better game.

Never played an infamous before (as this is my first play station since ps1) but I've been following this closely, and the positive impressions have won the day. Psyched!

You never noticed the AA issues? It was incredibly noticeable imo, was easily one of the jaggiest games I've played on the PS3.

It still looked like a decent game though. It's weird, I've seen people that have called it incredibly ugly and others that have called it one of the best looking open world games on the system. I think the reason for that is that it has a weird level of polish - some things looked great but others not so much. But yeah, it was still a much better looking game than the original.

I guess I just never really paid attention to any of that stuff. Plus at the time I had no idea what AA or any of those graphical terms meant, so if I ever did see a jaggy, I most likely thought nothing of it.

Man, this thread is becoming even more spoilery, I understand people that have played it are excited, but show some restraint, I'm backing out of this thread myself until I am done now. Hints about powers, pictures that show reticle of another power, hints on story shouldn't be posted in here, give everyone else the same thing we were afforded and let them go in cold.

why are we even comparing the two? second son looks way better period. And if you really want to make a fair comparision you would compare infamous 1 to second son since they are both made when the company is new to the hardware.

We all know Second Son looks significantly better and runs smoother.

Still, for what it is, Infamous 2 is impressive.

Back on topic. I've played for prob. 13 hours and I'm at the 73% mark.

For those who have already beat the game I have a question about a 'side story' thing that happened to me many hours ago and it really has nothing to do with the end game (I think), but you could have encountered this at various points throughout the game I presume.

Spoilers below:
Early in the game I came across a paper conduit that was in Fitch's sniper spot. I chased her around for a while, and the quest ended. That was 'part 1' of the quest, but the game seemed to have a problem trying to connect online or something after I beat part one. I didn't try part two afterwards because of that, but now I don't see it on my map. I'm guessing that this may have to do with the day one patch, or something that won't be available until Friday. Anyone have any insight into this without being too spoilery? Thanks.

The speculation has been an update with the day-one patch or DLC, but the former seems much more likely.

I haven't found anyone who was able to successfully complete part two.
