The moment somebody finally, actually kills Nui Harime will be the single most cathartic moment of the season.

She's such a shit antagonist. She never really was threatening and her big shtick about breaking the 4th wall got old over half a dozen episodes ago. It's stupid that the show is
bringing her back for round 2
. The show screwed up by not making another decent villain other than Ragyo and they're paying for it now.

Pokemon is the story of a young boy who recedes into chuunibyou syndrome to deal with the untimely death of his dad.

I guess at this point he would be a guy in his thirties, living in his mom's basement, eating donuts while throwing around his stuffed animals and yelling "Pikachu I choose you!"

Life in general is like playing a new Pokemon game because things change but it never really feels any different.

Even when Kill la Kill is "good" it's still pretty dang bad. It's like they decided that continuous, utterly pointless "twists" and overbearing direction were substitutes for actually writing a story with proper dramatic beats and characterization.

An opinion that so throughly discredits Branduil that it retroactively makes Hyouka a bad show.

Like in Pokemon X where I could not only be a cute girl but I could then choose what outfit to wear as a cute girl.

Hey waitasec this isn't like life at all.

Witchcraft Works - 11

Fights in this series are really boring when Kagari is invincible 99% of the time. There is barely any tension to be had. Besides all that for some reason, I'm somewhat interested to see how they handle the last episode of the series though.

I might start reading the manga.

Hyouka isnt a bad show.

Might be low-hanging fruit by now as far as Brandy is concerned.

Might need to find something else... maybe calling Angel Beats a good show, but even suggesting such made me throw up in my mouth a little.
Sorry PsychoNinja!

But Twitch murdered Charizard. That's what I'm talking about. TWITCH, not just reglur poklemuns.

Oh I thought you were talking about Game Freak.

Easy mistake to make given their treatment of fire types since gen 4!

Pikachu never looked better.

You know what, having a Pokemon as a reoccurring villain is probably the coolest idea yet.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
That WOULD be pretty funny though.

I kinda hope so too because I've been hoping she'd do something interesting since she first showed up :(

Here's why I think so:

Ever since Hououmaru was introduced, she's done next to nothing. Despite being a named character, and being fairly prominently shown whenever Ragyo's around. She's stood around in the background and been given zero backstory whatsoever. And then, in the post-credits scene at the end of this week's episode, she voluntarily allows herself to be absorbed into Shinra-Koketsu. For what reason? We're never told. We don't know what effect her being absorbed has, and we don't know what her motivation was to allow it. Also, Ragyo is almost certainly pretty much invincible in Shinra-Koketsu. It wouldn't be much of a final episode if she weren't, really. And the heroes are all out of final trump cards (at least as far as we know, though it seems likely). So if Ragyo can't be killed from the outside, then she's almost certainly going to be killed from the inside. Hououmaru's going to either kill her and take over Shinra-Koketsu, or something similar, and reveal her reasons for doing so (my prediction is the good ol' "this world sucks and needs to be destroyed because I had a tragic past" trope).

There's a Simpsons scene that kinda describes what I'm thinking, weirdly enough. It's the episode where Fat Tony's mob squares off against the yakuza at the end. And through the fight, there's this short yakuza in a white suit who just stands there doing nothing. And as Marge makes Homer stop watching the fight and go inside, he protests by saying (and I'm paraphrasing here) "Aww, but Marge, the little guy in the white suit is gonna do something cool, I just know it". Then as soon as Homer goes inside, you hear the white suited guy let out a yell as he kicks a few mobsters through the Simpsons' window. It's kinda like that. Hououmaru's been standing around in the background doing nothing for far too long for her to just be a random background character with no story. KLK has been full of twists, in fact the latter half of the show has been almost nothing BUT twists. And Hououmaru being the true final boss would be both the ultimate twist, and continue Imaishi's legacy of Gainax-trolling (Panty & Stocking, anyone?).

And as Midonin pointed out while I was writing this entirely-too-long theory, her name DOES have phoenix in it.

Who's the best? Mako, obviously. Episode started off great with Mako's stats screen and it stayed great throughout with Mako saving the day here and there. One of the Makoest episodes of Mako la Mako yet.

So, when does this all go bad? I mean, this show is awesome and great, but I'm not allowed to have nice things. So it must go bad at some point, right? No way does an anime stay this flipping awesome the whole way through, right? Like maybe the writer or director dies or something?

Yeah I can see that happening.

It'd be a total waste of a character if they didn't do something with her and a twist like that isn't totally out of character for the show. That'd be a lot of shit to cram into the final episode though since there's both Ragyou and Nui to take care of AND any sort of epilogue/aftermath to end the show on in under 25 minutes. I mean I guess I could see it pave the way for a new season or something which... I'm not sure I'd be cool with honestly. On that note, I think I wouldn't mind seeing a movie treatment like how Gurren Lagann did it. Since the show's pacing hasn't been great it might benefit from compressed timeframe and a better budget.

I dunno guess we'll see next week.
