What's this mean? She can't pay? Do something she can afford, pay for her or don't go. But definitely only pay for it if you're completely comfortable doing so not because you feel you have to.

I guess that's the line of respect. To me, what's $1,000 or so for a nice vacation? $1k will not break the bank or anything. I guess it's more a long the lines of manners and respect? A polite person would offer to pay.

They are building these at Disney World, at the Polynesian Resort as part of the Disney Vacation Club.

Why the controversy? aren't there cash back, rewards, frequent flier credit cards to take care of the SO expense?
A polite person would NOT pay a thousand dollar trip. That's something else entirely.

Also, I think one of those shots is of the Club Med in the Maldives. Almost stayed there, but the airfare was almost as much as the week's stay, so we ended up in the Bahamas instead.
Still on my list of places I'd like to spend a week in the coming years.
Maldives looks good but it is a majority Muslim country, what's the alcohol situation there???

Maldives is a nice looking place.
Its ok, it doesn't seem to be that popular. All of my wife and I's friends would rather spend a small fortune going to Hawaii. And you rarely hear people talk about it, when tropical destinations come up, its always Hawaii, Bahamas, Barbados, Fiji, Bora Nora, Cayman, Cancun, Cozumel etc.
We loved Belize when we went. Short 2 hour, direct flight from Houston. Great food, great people, great atmosphere, beautiful scenery, I got some of the best photography I have ever gotten anywhere there. We actually considered buying property there.
I hate giving self-intros, because no one knows where Belize is. Breaking Bad gave us some buzz (of the unfortunate kind). Although recently, with the precipitous drop in crime we've had, tourism has been ramping up more and more.
Plus, there's a direct flight from LAX now!
Well, i was kidding. I honestly dont care. If i were going on a honeymoon i wouldnt want to go to a "tropical destination" at all. That's just me.
Yeah, but if you can't have a cold beer in a nice place, what's the point?

Belize is the area where late season hurricanes often form. Some pretty strong storms. Some of the strongest on record. One of my coworkers retired and lives there. I kind of figured more people would know where it is.
