I think it turned out pretty well :)
I have a hard time doing characters in settings like that.

----

This was a request by someone.
I don't know if I should finish it. I've hit a dilemma where I don't know if it's best to do a bunch of couple hour drawings or a few massive time consuming art.

This is about 3 hours in, I suppose.

I had not been drawing for years and even back then i didn't really put much effort in it, but for some reason i decided to buy the Colors!3D on my 3DS a few days ago and now i'm seriously hooked on drawing, why did i ever stop? this is so fun and time consuming, i haven't had any attention to play videogames these days because i've just been fooling around with this Colors thing, i think i'm motivated enough to buy a real drawing tablet soon.

Castlevania one took several hours, had to do a lot of redrawing...Silent hill one a bit less.

edit: this is my first time in this thread, took a look at the last few pages, now i'm depressed, or should i be motivated? i don't know.

I feel the same some times. But I'm trying to change my outlook and instead of depressed and even motivated, I'm trying to be more inspired. Inspiration, for me, is far stronger than just being motivated. I get stuck on ideas quite often, so I'm looking for something to just flick the switch on.

^ be motivated and inspired and keep goooooiiinnngggg
my art always feels kind of like garbage to me too, but if there is passion in you to create, you just kind of have to do it regardless

Also, I think you got a good eye for things, PersonaX! I think if you keep arting, you'll improve exponentially!

I am trying to keep these under 8 hours (hopefully under 6!!!!), but I think this has reached the 3ish hour mark already, but I need to sleep and work so.. breaking my floooow:

This is cute as hell please finish soon so I can see!

I did a couple things today.

First a quick sketch:
I tried to be as mindless as possible. I was mentally loose and tried not to think about flaws and stuff, I just sort of let it be.
spent 30 minutes on it.

Then a portrait request by a Gaffer:
Spent 1.5-2 hours on this one.

I don't know how much I'm benefitting from drawing portraits, since it's essentially copying a picture. I guess I'll see over time.

Ah thank youuu~ Yeah, I think he's cute too (but he's kind of dumb lol). He's kinda too cute and happy to fit into his group.

Worked another couple of hours or a bit more.. I think.. >____>
Getting close to that dreaded 8 hours mark! BLAHHH!
I should be done in two more hours tomorrow. yes. Yesssh.

I am agonizing most about how I want it coloured the same/consistently with the set, but ahhh.. I dunno how to do it! I'm not a very consistent colourist.
If you haven't noticed, his head is slightly resized larger (maybe around 5% larger) because a friend said it might look too small. XD Even if it didn't, too late! I changed it! Clothing wrinkles have also changed slightly. I always refine my lineart as I colour when I start getting bothered by things I didn't catch before.
The shading may change all over as I try to refine the lighting or try to flatten the image.

about 1hr 30min, trying to study different lighting and atmosphere, need to work on my rocks also

also a wip, decided to do the poster image for Bioshock: Infinite, about 5 hrs so far, has mostly been relaxing taking my sweet time getting colors right and stuff. Will come back to it over the week.

Thanks, i think im slowly improving but I have a long long way to go before Drow looks any sort of decent. Had the most fun doing the environment.

I like this one; image has alot of personality to it, not just his expression but with the beats as well. Love, great job :D

OKAY I AM DONE!

Although.. maybe this took 8 hours or MORE??? //sobs
I am probably just trying too hard. I'll try less hard and make it more effortless next time!!

Progress gif of those 8ish hours:

There's a step where I liked the shading in his pants a little better (the larger shadow on groin version), but I am too lazy to go back and fix it now. XD

ONE MORE TO GO~

~2 hours so far and omg I am not even done lineart yet?? >:I !!!!!
This makes me so mad! Altaire! GAHHH!H!

I feel like I've been missing out, having not posted for ages. My computer is broken and wont be able to replace it until after the 19th....Anyway I did get these two sketch commissions done. I'm trying to include more feet into my works, since I rarely do full bodies. And I'm suddenly realizing how much I like drawing shoes.

I got this sketchbook for Christmas that's made with recycled paper and its actually pretty good. It's slightly thicker than moleskine paper, no tint on it, and slightly smoother. The works smudges easily on it so lines can fade pretty quickly but overall it pretty awesome.the pages aren't bound together , so its easy to take the paper out if I need to.

Work done with my .5mm mech pencil.

^ These are soooo nice~ I love the design elements you put into them for backgrounds! Ufff.. I wanna.. do that.. too! But so much.. time and patience needed!
Sucks that yoru computer is broken--but at least it seems like you are gonna get an upgrade!

BLAHJSGS
finally done the last of these stupid demons. Probably took 10+ hours on Altaire:

And lineup of all 4 cousins together so it's easy to cross-reference and compare them (the overlap doesn't work because of wing issues, but oh well lol):

Collectively like ~40 hours of my life. What am I even doing with my life? XD Nothing. hahah~

finally finished it, took over a week to get this way.

Since CGHUB seems to be gone, I resorted to youtube for a quick timelapse.

Also any suggestions for recording software if i ever wanted to show off any speeddrawings. I use FRAPS and WMM for gameplay and such, but if I wanted to move beyond that I don't think those two programs are going to cut it.

really like this piece, the textures and lighting are great, love the soft skin tone

I'm probably going to need some help, haha. I bought a new drawing tablet a week ago and I really want to get back into drawing. I used to do it a lot when I was a kid, and I drew cartoons and stuff like that when I got older, but I hardly draw anymore. A week ago I drew my first portrait ever (a self-portrait), and I really love it, but I spent almost a full day on it. I was going for a very specific sketchy style and I think I achieved that. I do need to work more on the lips and the cheeks, as they look a bit off though.

Maybe you guys could share some great tutorials or tips (I'd love some help with coloring, because I suck at it). That would be greatly appreciated.

I won't be able to post every single day since for the last 1-2 years I've been developing some kind of RSI-related bullshit in my right arm so I need to let my hand rest a lot, but I will try to post in this thread every now and then.

Without furder ado:

Have some Batman as a bonus:

Has anyone found a better way or organizing brushes than this:

Creating dummy brushes and dragging them around the preset manager isn't exactly ideal. A proper brush labeling utility feels like something that should've been in Photoshop a long time ago.

Try using the brush/tool presets panel with text names rather than samples (as opposed to the right click menu) and more descriptive names, as well as grouping things by their utility, eg group texture brushes, speckling tools, dry/line brushes, soft/hard brushes, and primitive shapes. Put those 1-3 brushes you probably use 90% of the time at the top of the list.

Also try reducing the amount of brushes, figure out what can be used in multiple roles to reduce clutter.

Days 49-50:

Worked hard at all of them despite having a potential down pour of emergencies, bad luck, betrayals, and rejection!...
Fun two weeks!...-_-

First one took about 1 hour or so as I had to rush to complete my painting for the Wednesday.
The second one took about 4-5 hours, and is a request from a friend of mine who's starting his Youtube channel. I now create his thumbnail art so that's kinda exciting.
