Tried this with a friend? I'm curious about it in two-player. How's the climbing and bowling? The demo of the waterski left me a little disappointed, It's just so much input lag in the Kinect, but I may have set it up badly :/
I haven't tried the MP yet.
Funny you should ask about these two, I found them to be the worst, with wave racing being the best and most responsive. However, reading reviews and impressions, I think the experience vastly differ from person to person (based on conditions).

That's the main problem with the Kinect in my opinion. It just acts too differently as to where you have it set up. Same with the voice commands. I wish the Kinect had some better self-tests when setting it up.
Would you recommend the game though?
Well I only spent ~3 hours with it so far, and from that little time, can't say that I'd recommend it. Especially not at $60.

Are crushed blacks no longer an issue in the game? Or are you playing/recording it RGB Limited?
In any case, when I played it last it looked much worse. It looks a lot better to me =S

It does. I don't have a problem saying that at this point it's my favorite Lego game so far, they crammed so much stuff into this.
My daughter loves that the dwarves can hold hands, but sad that the other characters can't. Also I think the pink pony made this her favorite game of all time.

I actually like that there are real things in some of the Lego games and not just a 100% lego pieces. To each, their own.
Yes it's a genuine open middle earth (in regards to The Hobbit)to play in, though I recommend completing the main story arc before bothering exploring as you'll be very restricted due to lack of character abilities, blacksmith recipes, fast travel, and mounts.
The way I have always seen it is that it like a kid playing with real legos.
No one lives in a Lego house, and very few people will build entire Lego cities to play in. Most kids build cities and stuff out of non Lego objects and then just use their imagination. That's how I view the Lego games.
The LEGO Movie game (which is pretty great) is 100% made of LEGO. The water and smoke effects, all the buildings and trees, etc. Pretty damn interactive too.

and the entire island is modeled after Spiral Mountain (Banjo Kazooie). i think something is gonna happen soon. ive got that ron paul gif on the ready.
KSR really is a gorgeous looking game, especially those nighttime wake race events
