I took a copy of Mount & Blade! Thanks for the game, Burgomeister.

Wow, the Portal rooms of The Ball are pretty awesome.

This is a sign from the heavens that you need to give me your non-foil cards. =p

The powers of foil shone down upon me yesterday and granted me a foil from... Rising Storm. :(
There's like 800 of them listed. I'll be lucky to get $0.40 for it.

Okay so in another giveaway I unwittingly got Cognition Episode 2, not knowing it is a series. Now I got Episode 1 so at least I can start it properly, but on the Steam store you can still only buy the entire season or nothing. Is there some way to buy the individual episodes somewhere else?

Amazon and the dev's site last I checked. I bought episode 3 when it was on sale and sent an email to the dev company and forwarded my receipt. They gave me a Steam key for it. Haven't bought episode 4 yet but when I do I'll probably do the same.

I just want to complete a Remember Me badge, but almost nobody on my friends list owns it... and the cards are spensive. =p

Got one of the Journey Down codes, thanks burgomeister. I wasn't going to post to avoid clogging the thread even further but I felt like a jerk. :p

Damn, you're the anti-Tenrius. Hype bubble popped. :( Did you think the boss fights were good at least?

There's some degree of quantity over quality and a few repeats from the first Dark Souls but there are some great bosses in the game for sure. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game but it really feels cobbled together at points and the completely scattershot end game really hurts it.

Is there anything bad about the enhanced edition of Baldur's Gate 1 & 2? Why do I sometimes see people recommend the GoG version?

When it launched the issues with the EH editions were:

- Price: The GoG versions were often discounted and a shitload cheaper
- New and wonderful bugs: There were a lot of problems found not in the original game
- Mods: The GoG versions, with mods, gave you basically everything the enhanced editions did but a lot more besides.

Now:

- Price: Not much of a difference
- Stability: They are still massive games, so I see reports of issues. But by and large patches have improved the enhanced editions.
- Mods: The enhanced editions now seem to be supported by all the important mods, so this is now more of a non-factor.

So basically there isn't a lot of difference today and you can decide based on the digital distribution platform of your choice.

It was just that you randomly reminded me of it by quoting his picture and seeing the foil.

Another random anecdote about Rising Storm: While it does not have controller support as far as I can figure, for some reason when certain things happened in multiplayer, my DS3 (connected via USB) started rumbling...

Terrible steam screenshot but this happened about a minute into playing Sleeping Dogs for the first time in a while. Sidesmacked
still so stupid

Was weird, went outside the world boundaries and then ended up on the shore somehow after falling into the ocean.

As for the bolded part, it was a fad at the time: people capitalized first letters of nouns in written English. If you know that, I think it really adds to the atmosphere lol.

Ooooh, okay. I never really connected the two. That's actually kind of neat, though I would have liked it more if they had went the whole way and included long s's, etc.

Shad'O (which just got cards) is worth trying.

The game places you into the mind of a “Where the wild things are” style boy. And by “style” I mean exactly the same thing, complete with the little ears. You are then joined by Super Ted who tells you that you need to push the shadows back inside your head and then a little penis mushroom indicates that the real game is loading.

I’d classify that as a somewhat odd start.

I wouldn’t mark it as a must play, but it is certainly worth a look. The game reminded me of GrimGrimoire in some respects, with perhaps a bit of Alice Madness returns thrown in too. The actual tower defense gameplay isn’t special enough to carry the whole experience, but it at least gets the job done to kill a bit of time.

Alright, DreadOut info (I-am-hyped) post.

1241428620X310.jpg

DreadOut is an Indonesian horror game that went through a successful crowd-funding campaign last year and was greenlit on Steam around the same time. The game takes a lot of inspiration from the Fatal Frame series, starring a girl who comes with a group of friends who takes care of spirits and supernatural beings with a phone camera.

Before I go too deep into this, the game released a demo over a year ago that is about 15-20 minutes long. The game (and demo) can be played on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

DreadOut deals with a group of teens who on their vacation trip end up in an old, deserted town. Linda, our main character who has a sensitivity to the spiritual, senses something within the town, but her friends don't listen to her. And before they know it, they find themselves dealing with the spirits and monsters depicted in Indonesian mythology.

The game deals with the sort of horror stories that come from Indonesia and wears it very proudly. I don't know how many of you know much about horror stories from Indonesia, but it's very promising and something horror games haven't dealt with. They have very rich folk-stories and myths, and there's a few very good foreign horror films that deal with these stories. They have very fascinating monsters and folkstories.

The gameplay is also like an updated Fatal Frame. The game claims you'll be using a variety of different tools in your environment for puzzles and combat. smartphones, microphones, digital cameras, digital video cameras, and more. You're also exploring the odd town, which includes locations ranging from market venues to schools to forests to graveyards, sewers, and other things.

There's also been further updates and demo builds for those who supported the campaign, but development has been coming along nicely. They've been kind of quiet to the public as they've been rapidly designing areas as they hired more staff to get more down.

Here's a couple trailers though:

December 2013 Teaser Trailer

I was waiting to post more on the game when new public news was out since the last public update was almost five months ago, but since it seems most don't know what it is even I think I should post about it. If you like horror games, or Fatal Frame, or want a sort of modern old-school styled horror game, I'd keep your eyes on this one.

it'll be nice if we see more Southeast Asian games <3

Apparently you can get the same benefits, and more, from mods that the enhanced edition provides.

- Price: The GoG versions were often discounted and a shitload cheaper
- New and wonderful bugs: There were a lot of problems found not in the original game

I see, thank you. The GOG version still much cheaper right now.

Playing through that bad boy, Deus Ex, right now, man I am having fun. I hope Eidos Montreal considers re-adding the skill system again in the next game, Derrick was right when he said it was a huge loss in Human Revolution.

JC has some of the greatest lines of all time, "bravery is not a function of firepower" is so underrated.

If that is indeed the case, then I will rethink my console only stance on ubisoft games. I'd really like to stop having to buy them on there.

Me too. I hope they add achievements, it's a glaring hole in the Steam Assassin's Creed games, when Rocksmith 2014 used uPlay and had them.

Thanks to burgomeister for Perfection, nice one.

Hey about that old WD price error, I got in on that too but I noticed a month or two back I got a deposit into my account for the same amount. I bought both AC4 and WD so idk if they cancelled my order or what. Did you get the same thing or is there any way to check my order status?

Yes, go to https://shop.ubi.com/, log in and on the top right there should be a drop down menu with your order history. I can't say if I got any money back but the AC+WD order is still in there.

My biggest issue is them using uplay for things like leaderboards. I have no friends on uplay so they're pretty meaningless.

But where did you get your AC4 key from? Because mine was added right there to the order and I had to input the key into the Uplay client myself.

I bought AC4 and WD in the same order from Uplay. I got my AC4 when it came out. I had to goto their site to access the CD Key and manually add it as well, but it was on the russian site.
I don't remember how to do that either actually, think you can remind me?

EDIT: I found it actually. I had to go back to the Russian uplay site using Hola and I checked my order history through there. Strange it doesn't transfer over between regions. Watch Dogs is there :D
