If you're running out of moss you can just pop a lifegem to counteract the poison. Luckily this is pretty much the only place where you would ever have to do that.

Yeah I just don't see what the point of the poison is. Especially the pit right before the first bonfire. It's nothing but an annoyance.

Been having a bunch of success in PVP with my Fist of the North Star techniques. I'm getting the hang of it, now. I lost alot but learned alot in the progress. Last handful was amazing, I stun locked the crap out of them with the power stance combos. Couldn't do anything.

The ring does bring up the damage pretty well. I have decent STR though, so that only adds to it. Also, Ring of Blades +2.

If so, this is a huge change from DkS1.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes and no. Sunlight blade adds 50 lightning damage, then boosts your native lightning damage by 30%.
So yeah, you'll get that extra 50 damage, which is pitiful. But it means that the developers encourage infusion of weapons (as well as power stancing, hence the STR/DEX scaling nerfs).

So this is pretty weird.

I dropped a summon symbol inside Straid's cell. Got summoned by some guy, but Straid was still petrified in his world so I couldn't get out of the cell. But the host's character would start moving all weird and be able to pass through Straid. Had to use the black crystal.

This is kind of fucked up, considering the flamberge demands way more stats.

Guess the inherent bleed damage should make up for it but still.

I started out dual wielding Falchion and Scimitar, but then progressed to katanas with Rickrad's rapier....wrecks shit and still light. Darkdrift (r1) Rickard's (L1) and leo's ring does 832 damage to the Torturers on the way to the Chariot and one shot's them. The darkdrift R2 does 700+ just by itself....and goes through shields if they try to block, which they usually do not. Despite that Isuck at PVP in general,I won a few figths with this set up even with low VGR and using the light Aurous set.

I dunno if anyone else notice but directly after u leave no mans wharf and enter the next area, look up. You can see part of the next level floating in mid air over nothing. Further proof the geography of the levels makes no sense.

yeah that's really annoying after such a cool collision map could be made for DS1....I couldn't stand that that tower was in the wrong spot after going from the the tunnel from Majula to the Forest....the layout made zero sense half the time. You should be able to see the lost Bastille out on an island somewhere at some point as well but nada.

Maybe the boss is the one others will find easy. Try glass or smelter demon. I used to get summoned for OIK around that level. Or wait for NG+ to do that.

We have pretty much the same setup: +5 Lightning Defender's Sword and +5 Dragon's Chime with 24 Great Lightning Spears at my disposal, to be exact. 40 STR and 50 FTH are the pertinent stats.

I took him on with my Spears alone. I found that running in to whack him with the D's Sword wasn't nearly as efficient and could really screw you if you had to bolt from the AoE attack. At a relatively close distance, the Spears were doing around 130 damage each. Starting with 24, I had to use a couple of Amber Herbs to see the fight out.

Best tips I can give you:
- Try to bait the simple forward flame by staying more or less in front of his nose (slightly to the left or right), but with a bit of distance between the two of you.
- When he does this, MAKE SURE that you take a split second to determine the way the flame will be sweeping in - left to right, or right to left - and run the other way.
- ALWAYS know where you'll have to run in case the AoE attack rears its ugly head. He's usually not dead-centre, so one end of the arena will be safe and the other will lead to your fiery death.
- Don't hang too far back. The spread of his forward flame is extremely difficult to outrun on the outskirts. Always run back to him after the AoE flame.

Ok so I decided to stick to my STR / Faith Build.
Been messing about in
NG for a long while now so I am already 150. I managed to down Vendrick, Watchers and Dark Lurker last night (Woooo Dragon Chime!) as it happens so yay.


Currently trying to decide if I really want to burn time on the AD or not.
Don't get me wrong though I really don't mind wiping on a boss over and over or anything. The problem I have is the run to the boss. Frankly it is a pain in the ass and removes all of the fun from trying a tough boss.

I have also kind of burned up a lot of raw materials so far into this play through, Is it wise to stay in NG and keep trying to farm it out or to just move on to NG+ now?
