The next single coming from the highly acclaimed, global smash and future multi-Grammy winning album BEYONCÉ

The song is about embracing yourself and your imperfections.

Watch the beautiful video:

And don't forget to post what you think is pretty

I think Beyoncé is sending out a great message to other people with this song and video. A lot of people think that she's perfect (myself included) but she's only human and has flaws and insecurities as well ( I don't believe that tho)

I think Beyonce is a great performer with a great voice and an amazing look. But she's so fake she makes MJ's nose look real. The message is nice but I felt zero emotions from her.

Embracing yourself and your imperfections? Beyonce...? The person who tried to ban photos of her from the internet...And that whole baby situation, which is more than likely because she, like many normal people don't have the ability to have children. Really embraced that by buying out a hospital floor.

The woman is talented, but it seems that shes not too genuine. Im sure her fans will some how forget that this woman is turning into a white woman before our very own eyes. Embracing imperfections... welp.

nice..beat..

Not gonna lie. I played the HELL out of the album and Pretty Hurts was not a bad way to kick it off. I like the song, but don't see it going far as a single. It is definitely not Drunk in Love. I know I am the only one, but I would have preferred No Angel as the next single.

I read the lyrics... really Beyonce?

Girl who has been called amazingly beautiful her entire life complaining about beauty standards is a tough sell.

Turning herself into a white woman?

I don't think she being a hypocrite with the message behind this song. If anything Beyoncé admits she is a perfectionist who's overly concerned with her image. The song is a concession to that and that's she trying to work on it.

prettyyyyy hurrrURRRERRTTTSSS.

That's basically every song that Sia has written in the last 3 years:

"I am titaniummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

"from the chadelierrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

"hungry for the frlesh of minnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeee"

popgaf does too much on michelle #poormichelle

I like the song I guess, I thought it was ok the first 8000 times I listened to the album. Sia is overrated as a songwriter and underrated as a singer. I wish she would get back with Zero 7. :(

Is this the same woman who was requesting all those "ugly" photos of her from the superbowl be taken down?

Maybe she realized that the embarrassment she felt with her ugly pictures is something she shouldn't feel and decided to make a video trying to make people not judge pretty/ugly/heh people so much.

I bet you 50 bitcoins she is more insecure about herself than the vast majority of women.

Yes, things like always appearing to be lighter skin toned in all of your Ad's. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ernest-owens/beyonce-colorism-and-why-_b_2687029.html I mean, surely, this the first time you've heard of issues with Beyonce's sort of transition? This specific issue.

Ah i see where you took the lyrics. When i hear that shes happy with herself, it doesn't really have that tone of her working on much of anything. It's seems to suggest that shes (finally?) content on the inside(soul), as well as the out. The Beautiful facade. Despite the harsh standards of the outside judgmental world. I have to say that any commentary on inner beauty the artificial world of beauty, while you're at the forefront and dare I say it, an offender, needs to have a substantial message if thats what you think, shes alluding to.

All in all, it was just a "hmm" post. She definitely has some authenticity to recover in my eyes. And if thats the direction shes going, bully for her.

Nice try, that was her publicist's doing

the fake baby too?

And the skin lightening..?

Damn, that publicist aye. And lets not pretend that Beyonce is under the supreme control of her publicist. Else they wouldn't have let her stage a fake pregnancy. Sure, they are the ones that officially asked the internet to remove her photos. And not a gmail from beyonce herself. Of course.

Not that I agree with you or anything, but did you find it ironic that one of the messages of the video is that black women are pressured to live up to a whitewashed standard of beauty?

I don't think its a grand epiphany from beyonce. Not in the least..

and this is weird. This is a deja vu moment... (sidebar)

Wait, there are people that still actually believe she faked her pregnancy? Really?

You have absolutely no evidence of either of these things (skin lightening and fake pregnancy). Stop serving grocery store tabloid and becoming outraged at a woman over things that aren't even true.

My cousin worked at the hospital the baby was born at and she said Beyoncé spent the whole time DOING DRUGS/SINGING RAP MUSIC/DESTROYING THE FABRIC OF MODERN AMERICAN SOCIETY and looking over the babies to see which she should STEAL.

Wouldn't Beyoncé looking lighter in ads have more to do with the companies responsible for the ads? This isn't a phenomenon unique to Beyoncé a lot of black women who have appeared on the cover of magazines for example have been airbrushed and touched up to appear lighter.

The fake baby is here say. I'm also going to need receipts on her actually lightning her own skin.

Evidence is what you see with your eyes. Babies don't fold, and they never have. Just as us black people do not get lighter when photographed. Nor do our noses shrink width over time. Outrage is the wrong word, I think observation is a better one.

I don't know who is responsible for whitening the skin. But it is literally happening. So when I say shes turning white, you can fully 100% understand what I mean. Either its the companies, or Beyonce, but you understand. The fake baby video is all that I need to see as an adult to know she probably had a foam padding on to simulate the image of being pregnant. They more than likely adopted. And theres nothing wrong with that, but hiding it is where it leaves a bad taste. As if its something to be ashamed of. Shes a good performer, but, like a lot of people she seems to have self image problems. I don't think shes headed down the Lil-Kim direction of full blown, but I'm going to keep an eye on her.

But makeup does those things. There's also a lot to be said about how the medium of film captures black skin.

Ah, your "evidence" is the "fold" video. Got it.

Black people do get lighter/darker depending on sun exposure the same way other races do, right? Just checking.

...I'm just going to need Beyonce to stop clinging to that dry, crispy-ass blonde yaki like she's convincing anyone that's her "natural" look. Sis...

Anyway, of all the songs on BEYONCE, Pretty Hurts is the one I tired of first. It really takes a special quality to nail a Sia ballad, and Bey clearly doesn't have it. Just sounds kinda flat throughout.

Why do you think this is specific to Beyonce? It's not. It's a problem with media and marketing perceptions. Is there evidence that Beyonce specifically asks for lightening and/or nose touchups?

lol

"just going to need..."

As if you weren't the Angela Cheng who started the bleaching/face pregnancy rumors in the first place :p

Ehh... None of these are specific to Beyonce. And honestly even the "fake pregnancy" thing is not a big deal to me *raises flame shield*. I mean she will be a mother at the end of the day regardless if she actually carried the child. And she won't be the first woman in the world who did such a thing.

I really rate Beyoncé, I think she's quality. I've liked pretty much everything I've heard from her, top tier pop music.

Deja Vu is one of my favourite pop tunes, that bassline is just too cool.

I Go nuts whe I see a supermodel or somebody who looks like Beyonce talking about embracing imperfections. Any imperfections she has to be have been removed by surgeons or some other expenditure. Or just great genes.

Plus that Bow Down song killed any good will she might have at least for me. I don't like her persona. Gorgeous though.

I thought it was common knowledge that she and Rihanna are of mixed racial family heritage. Not their parents, or grandparents- but their great-grandparents having been white. and I thought for Rihanna, she is part Native Bajan (native South American sorta haplotype).
