Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus Rated for Vita

nbnt

is responsible for the well-being of this island.
Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is likely coming to the Vita soon, according to a recent ESRB rating.

This wouldn't be the first time a Ratchet & Clank game came to Vita after a PS3 release. The 2012 release Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault was slated to come to Vita at the same time as the PS3 version, but was delayed six months. Into the Nexus first came out on PlayStation 3 last November and was well received.

It was pretty obvious this was in development as the ps3 game had cross save option.

Lets hope its crossbuy as already have digital version of it.

If it's anything like the FFA port, I want nothing to do with this.

If it's a custom build that reuses assets like SAC or SM, bring it on!

$15 plz

worst kept secret in gaming. Ps3 version had cross save and shared trophy list features built in.

Game was ok though, short and sweet.

Didn't buy on PS3 (still surprised at myself for that) but if it comes to Vita, and, a HUGE if here, IF it's good on Vita I'll pick it up the second it's available.

That would be good since I doubt I'd rebuy it just to have it on the Vita.

After the disaster that the last one turned out to be on the Vita (horrific framerate even with the ugly graphics) I don't have high hopes that this will look good or run well since Into the Nexus had pretty similar graphics (or better) than FFA.

If they would put out the R&C Collection on the Vita I would pick that up in a heartbeat. Seems like it would be a LOT easier to get that running well on the Vita hardware than making a downgraded port of a PS3 game.

good to hear - I remember insomniac said they wouldn't put another R+C on vita unless it was handled with care and proper QC...

i'm expecting big things from this game now. can't wait

Is this game considered good around here? How does it compare to Quest for Booty?

It's better and longer than Quest for Booty, but it's not as long as the next shortest one Size mattersr. Arena is terrible.

Good, but not as high quality as any of the other full games.

R&C Collection would be a much better addition to the Vita library than the 5-hour Nexus.

Come on JSTEVENSON, push for the Collection port with a helping of Deadlocked on the side.

It's what I really wanted in the first place. Ever since the PSP I wanted those games in my pocket.

this would be great! i haven't bought the ps3 game as i've been really not inclined to game on it since the ps4 came out. i won't buy it if it performs like ffa though. that was a huge slap to the face, as a longtime insomniac fan.

I'm happy Vita is getting some Nexus love, but it could really *reallly* use a PS4 port, especially with some of the inconstant frame drop issues. I would double dip too.

Insomniac have been very evasive about Vita Nexus, refusing to confirm or deny its existence since the first hints before it even released on PS3, which makes me think that it's anther dreadful Q-Force style port that they want to push out without much fanfare. I hope I'm wrong since the game on PS3 is great and I normally like to think quite highly of Insomniac in terms of quality, but it's the only reason I can think of that would result in them not actually announcing a Vita version, while still refusing to outright deny it, even when directly asked.

I do wonder how Insomniac feel about awful ports like Q force Vita and Gladiator HD going out with their names on. I'd imagine that would cause a lot of tension between Insomniac and Sony, which could be part of the reason behind partnering with MS for Sunset Overdrive? I certainly hope that they weren't happy with the quality of those two examples anyway.

Should be a good port since JSTEVENSON came out and said the only way insomniac would do it was if it was done according to their standards.

All that's left now is for them to release the Ratchet and Clank collection for the Vita.

So who could do this?

Tin Giant did QF/FFA Vita, it was terrible.

Idol Minds did the HD collection.

Sanzaru did Secret Agent Clank on PS2.

High Impact Games is pretty much no more, key folks are at HammerCat now doing mobile games.

I doubt Insomniac is doing this themselves.

Big Red Button maybe? Probably not, why this now when they had years to do other similar projects? They seem squarely focused on their own games with Sonic Boom Wii U as their first real project (their founders from ND were credited under the company in Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier).

Ready at Dawn are squarely focused on The Order and don't do ports aside from Okami Wii, and I don't see them doing any in the future.

Toss up between the first three with Tin Giant the least likely after their last effort...

Just to add some more info to this, the UK Store has a "Discover" section when accessing it on the PS3, one of the sub-sections there is "Cross-Buy Games" which contains Ratchet & Clank Nexus. At the moment it's only the PS3 version but with the Vita version having already been rated and the game listed as Cross-Buy already there's a chance that it may not be too far away now.

I'd be happier with a PS4 version but the free Vita version will do for now. :)

Dunno what is taking so long for this to get announced, lol. How many signs have pointed to the Vita version at this point? :p

I hope it's a good port, and if it is, you can be sure I'll pick it up. Didn't get it on PS3. I hope the Ratchet collection gets officially announced for Vita soon as well.

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
I read somewhere this is the last Ratchet and Clank game. Guess they figure these kind of games aren't gonna be sellers this gen?

Hope this is a good port; Nexus is a great game (despite how short it was :() and it would be a great fit for Vita.

I just...don't see it ending well though; if the PS3 had issues running this game (as that version had a number of Frame Rate Drops....contrasting with the smooth performance from the Future games)...then I cannot imagine how the Vita version will run :l.

Either way, I own the disk version, so I hope they patch in cross-buy into the PS3 versions at least.

They have a Ratchet and Clank movie coming next year, games are still coming for the series :).

The big question, is if Insomniac is still going to make these or not; they moved on to new IP with Sunset Overdrive and Fuse (with the Ratchet Future team's last game being a Crack in Time...that came out almost five years ago :(), so I don't see them working on the series any more outside of one more game (that was hinted in Nexus's ending).

Still either way, Ratchet is Sony's Mario in a way, so we will still see games in the Ratchet series :).

Its a great game, but it has some awkward pacing in regards to its length. It builds and builds, with the ending feeling really sudden.

If they ever make a new Ratchet, I hope they bring back the jetpack. Between the hover boots, wrench tether, and jetpack Insomniac has a lot of cool mechanics they can mine from.

Hope this is true. I wish Insomniac wasn't preoccupied with Sunset Overdrive because if they could've had a PS4 Ratchet out within the first year of launch, no doubt it would've sold well.
