1. Turn off your TV then turn it back on. This isn't a new issue, it's been happening to me for months now.
2. Turn your party settings to friends only
Since the update I'm getting no picture at all. Sound is working but my AV receiver (Onkyo 505) can't handle the video signal.
The video works when I'm connecting the PS4 to my monitor, so I've tried turning Deep Color and HDCP on and off. That didn't do anything.
I've also tried forcing 720p or 1080p and disabling HDMI for audio.
Anything else I could try?

when the stream quality is bad...the chat section/on-air section of the screen is also low quality...wut
Yeah I noticed that too with multiple other games.

A buddy of mine updated to 1.7 yesterday and got flickering video on his TV or sometimes just a black screen. Plugged straight into his TV was fine but not through his receiver. He ended up having to change his ps4 to force 1080p instead of automatic to fix the problem. Thought I'd post this in case it helps anyone.
Edit.. He just told me this didn't work. What ended up fixing it was what was already reported - turn off deep color. Thanks gaf

I updated to 1.7 last night.
However, I was getting this really annoying issue where the bottom half of the screen would turn static for a brief second before fixing itself, audio would give brief static and then go out for 5 seconds. Happened every 15-20 seconds or so and was really fucking annoying.
It seems like if I turned off HDCP it worked fine (I was able to play Don't Starve for 90 minutes without issue at least). What's weird is I never had any problems before the update.
Has anyone had something similar or heard of similar issues happening?

Is anyone else having trouble resuming failed downloads since the new patch? I swear when I ran into a connection issue before I could just reset the system or my router or something and then it would just resume, but now I just get a big "X" through my progress bar and a "Cannot download." message.
I've tried asking Sony support, but they're indicating that my only solution is to delete the download and start from scratch, which is a big slap in the face considering I'm trying to download a 12GB file (the FFXIV client) which means I'm basically out hours of progress if my connection fucks up.
Why can't they just implement a pause/resume function? I don't think I've ever had to start a PS3 download from scratch when my connection has run into a problem.

I've been having a lot of strange network issues since the update. Some apps seem to pull info from the internet without issues whereas others are either slow or don't work at all. I couldn't even open Live from Playstation this morning as it locked up my machine twice. What a bummer.

That is an annoying one, because it tries indefinitely to upload the game save it seems like, so when you try going into Standby more and it fails to upload a particular game save it just sits there forever trying and never gets into standby. And it won't come out of standby either. At least I think that's what's causing my standby more to only work half the time.

I tell it to go into standby and the light bar on the console itself begins pulsing white and never turns orange. I try connecting to it with my Vita and it never connects. TV says no signal. I end up holding the power button for 10 seconds to reboot it and I get the nasty hard drive check and a warning about unplugging it.
Happened 3 times over the weekend, and one of the occasions it wasn't even from extended use. I was just turning it on to upload some screenshots.

Something ignored a shutdown message, or crashed, or hung, and had to be killed by force.
The PS3 did this too.

need more contextual stuff like this...for example if a trophy pops, ps button should take you to trophy so you can see what unlocked it or if you get that party notification it should take you to the party screen if you press it within a specific amount of time.

Try disabling Deep Color.
Share + square button to save the last 15 minutes, as it says on the screen.

Twice now ive turned it on and its instantly done the three beep sound it makes, like your trying to eject a disc with nothing in the drive. Sometimes multiple times then every 10 seconds or so you can hear the eject mechanism moving without any beeps.
Turning off, unplugging it and turning back on works but its done it a few times now. Cant play any of my physical copies as will just get annoyed if it keeps ejecting.

Twice while playing Shadow Fall, I found the rumble wasn't working. Had to go in settings to uncheck it (it was checked) then check it again and it worked.

I deleted my cloud save for the non-working titles (it started with just Trials, but Infamous started doing it as well) and re-uploaded them. Apparently it fixes the problem, but I haven't logged in yet today so I don't know if that's true.
I have this for FFXIV (the only game I've been playing that I was also playing before the update), but just going into the notification and telling it to overwrite the existing save seemed to work just fine.
I did have to activate the PS4 again if memory serves (I'm not sure what prompted me to do this), so perhaps that might help?
It doesn't say anything when no video was recorded (blank video thumb). Only triangle for screenshot saving.
As far as I can tell, the only way to be sure video is being recorded is to resume gaming after having hit the Share button at least once.
PS: I still get dozens of "Cannot Upload" [saves] messages every time I turn the console on. It's getting annoying.

I'm getting this with Battlefield 4. Deleted the cloud saves, re-uploaded them manually. Helped for around 3 days, then it started again.
I'm getting super paranoid, the "uploaded from another system" really gives me the creeps.
Pulsing white light happened to me once since the update, I unplugged everything and started again haven't had problems since.

I wouldnt worry about that error message, its probably just a messed bug. But the problem itself is really annoying.
They have tons to fix at 1.71. The auto recording problems and this one about cloud saving seems to be the most notables and I hope they fix both soon.

I would also like to say that I am now suffering from this Share bug, I changed the setting pre-1.70 to hold to record the video and single press to take a shot and it used to work perfect for me.
Now on 1.70 I was playing Rayman Legends and wanted to share a really cool level playrun and I held Share and it showed me the Share screen and then I exitted out. This usually stops recording from that point and starts a new point in recording so I can use the 15 minutes of recordings, however it didn't so when I went into my Share gallery it hadn't appeared and I wasn't happy

Game recording is broken for me since 1.70.
It never auto records anymore
so what should we do ?
I did disable HDCP, maybe that's the reason ?
I should try enabling it again, although i don't think there's a connection between the two.

I wouldn't worry, I expect it's a generic message for 'Upload failed' and not entirely accurate. Why the uploads are failing though, I have no idea. I thought it was because I was swapping between VPN's and using a friend's network on the weekend, but I've had it this week with a static IP and back on my own network.

I'm pleased to see that Sony have finally fixed the screenshot viewing bug I have been experiencing since launch last November. It used to give me error CE-34878-0 *only* while viewing these and a reset to the Home screen pre-v1.50 update and then a blank grey screen for some (but not all) screenshots from v1.50, which was fixable by Sharing to Facebook then cancelling it!
I've been testing for the past view days and now all my screenshots display correctly as intended but I'm surprised it took Sony so long to fix such a basic bug. Whatever, I welcome the addition of the standalone Capture Gallery app and the ability to copy my videos and screenshots to a USB memory stick.

This update definitely feels quite unstable. I'm having a multitude of issues, most of which are listed in this thread already, including no video occasionally, pulsing white lights, 3 beeps on shutoff and the cloud save issue. The other day I booted from standby and EVERY game reported a corrupted save, plus I couldn't upload or download from the cloud. Rebooting fixed it, but that had me holding my breath
Out of interest, is there somewhere that these issues are generally reported? I assume there's a Playstation forum or some such but was curious if there's a bug reporting link or anything like that?

Is it just me or does the PS4 no longer "always" record video? I was playing BF4 and blew up a tank with the fixed explosives on Golmud, went to share it with friends, and no video was saved for the game. I then started recording by double tapping share button, but I am not sure it continues after it says it saves the file of the length I have set.

Oh yeah, I'm getting the video recording error as well. Disappointed when my mate did some stupid shit in Trials (after telling me it looks too easy!) and it hadn't recorded. As others have said, once you set a recording going manually, it usually starts to save after that.
Manually starting it isn't what I want, if I forget to do that and something spontaneous happens, I expect it to have recorded as promised.
That's an annoying thing, if you get a crash you usually get the opportunity to submit a report, but we can't do it from PS4 for these apparent faults.

Since installing 1.70, I've been experiencing this problem on an almost daily basis as well.
One day last week, I manually uploaded my inFamous: Second Son saved data by opening each notification message and answering "Yes" when it asked me if I wanted to upload the data. The next day, the automatic upload was successful, but starting with the day after that, the uploads failed again.
yupp, i get this a lot also. manually uploading seems to fix it for 'some time'.
I guess this will be fixed in the next update. Stability, yo!
but I really want to know the software error behind this.
looks like the ps4 isn't correctly recognized by the server or something.

Yep getting cannot upload save messages and also some kind of video stopped recording message, I will say people wanted this update and it wasn't ready, looks like it needed some time in oven but sony released it to please.

After the update, it seems like I cannot copy save files from the PS4 over to my USB card anymore. I keep getting an error message. Anyone else experiencing that?
