Please Nintendo, patch Yoshi's New Island's music... :(

Honestly, can Nintendo just release a downloadable update or patch for this game. The music isn't the only problem with Yoshi's New Island, but damn, it has got to be one of the biggest and most noticeable problems. I'm having the hardest time wanting to play this game, simply due to the horrible soundtrack. Everytime I play it, I have the vastly superior SNES music playing in my head, but as soon as I hit the goal at the end of the level, I am immediately thrown out of the game.

I think the longest I have ever been able to play this game is for only a few levels, but that was because I had the sound off and had the original Yoshi's Island music playing on my computer. Otherwise, it's barely a level before I have to turn it off.

Such a disappointing situation.

They should've released it on a real platform.

Seriously, why do you say that?

The worst part is World 6 actually has some decent music that they use in one stage each and then for the penultimate stage that takes place close to a volcano they reuse the shitty 1-1 theme

I think it's kind of amazing they can bring out Mario kart 8 music but also this drek within a month or two

It's a perfectly good soundtrack, I've been listening to it pretty regularly. Experimental/Weird tracks like Yoshi Clan are few and far between, so citing those is totally misrepresenting the game. But hey, don't let me stop you.

The fact that I can't find anything on the composer except the fact that the only games he's credited for are Sonic Rush and Yoshi's Island DS is pretty telling...

That seems to be the primary objective of the people against the music in this game. They choose one track, Yoshi Clan, which plays only once during the game and just for about a minute, and use it to attack the entire soundtrack, despite it containing some real gems.

I'm much happier just pretending this new Yoshi's Island game doesn't exist. If Nintendo doesn't respect their franchises enough to give them a full effort, I'm certainly not giving them my money.

This logic makes no sense. The game is actually very good, and unlike Yoshi's Island DS, the music on the whole isn't bad.

It's frankly completely disrespectful, but whatever.

The music isn't really that bad. I would link some good pieces but the number of quotes the Yoshi Clan song has gotten suggest that they would fall on deaf ears.

I consider the first Yoshi's Island a masterpiece. The fact that Nintendo sees fit to hand this franchise off to a B team yet again just grosses me out. The art style and music alone tell me everything I need to know.

HEY

Sonic Rush's soundtrack was great and Hideki Naganuma is a godsend! Thankfully this guy only did small arrangements and not full tracks.
