So me being bored at 1am makes me search for any nintendo leaks about E3 and I found this lol. It's probably fake but I can see some of those things happening. Nothing is outlandish. Although I think it's too soon for Retro to have a cgi trailer for a new game ready already and 2.5D Metroid for 3DS seems to good to be true.

Just fun speculation lol.

This information comes from person, who works at Nintendo Europe in Germany and prepares few elements for upcoming show. Sorry for my English, it’s not my native language.

WII U

New Zelda game – As they said, Nintendo will finally show us brand new Wii U Zelda. They gonna show us CGI trailer, and also a few minutes of gameplay. It will be true open world Zelda (Elder Scrolls style). It will have two regions, one dark and edgy. Second more colorful, just like Skyward Sword. Game will be playable at E3. Release date: 2015.

Smash Bros Wii U/3DS – They will reveal release dates for both versions (SB Wii U in November). Show more gameplay, and presents all fighters and stages. They will also talk about Smash DLC and NFC Figures.

Monolith Soft X (Xenoworld) – Open world jrpg with story mode and cooperation similar to Monster Hunter Games. You can play it alone with AI companions. Release date winter 2014 in Japan and march 2015 in the west.

Bayonetta 2 – Trailer and release date (fall 2014)

FExSMT/Yarn Yoshi – first trailers and release dates (first half of 2015)

Hyrule Warriors – first trailer, release date is October 2014. Hyrule Warriors is final title.

Fatal Frame/Project Zero – first CGI trailer, “coming soon”

Retro Studios Game – New IP, sci-fi action adventure game, first CGI trailer, “coming soon”

New Miyamoto’s game – Lots of Gamepad and NFC gimmicks.

Mario Party U – Nintendo’s holiday game for casual gamers, classic Mario Party, but with NFC figurines.

Pokken – first trailer, Pokemon fighting game from Namco, 2015

Star Fox? a big final surprise? lol

On another note, I do hope we see a trailer for Fatal Frame at E3.

Oh really, lol? My bad.

My dream star fox game is on rail shooters, with ground sections being like Mass Effect (Cover shooter with overheating laser weapons instead of ammo) and Arwing transforming into a mech (gundam style) instead of the landmaster. Maybe some open travel sections to. Some levels have a mix of all three, some stick to one.

The Great Fox ship is your hub to talk to teammates, receive missions, upgrade your Arwing and weapons, develop relationships (like if you go all paragon with Falco he helps you out more on mission but if you go renegade he let's you get shot at).

Developed by Platinum Games of course :D

My E3 predictions:

- Zelda U: Reveal Trailer
- Sonic Boom: New trailer and release date, Holidays 2014.
- X: New Trailer, real name, and release period, likely late 2014.
- Bayonetta 2: New trailer and release date, summer 2014.
- Yarn Yoshi: New trailer, coming 2015
- Surprise reveal: Star Fox Wii U, coming 2015
- Miyamoto's new IP. NFC game. Holidays 2014
- Hyrule Warriors: New trailer, August 2014
- Pokken Fighters: Full trailer, coming 2015
- eShop Indie and Virtual Console reel video, including release window for N64 and DS titles.
- Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem: Reveal Trailer, coming 2015
- Fatal Frame: Reveal trailer, comes out later this year.
- Surprise reveal: Metroid Wii U, coming 2015.
- Smash Bros. Trailer: several veterans and a newcomer.
- Completely unexpected reveal of a Wii U game being co-developed by Nintendo and another big 3rd party company. Also 2015.

This is pretty much how I feel it will go. Nintendo has so many announcements we know very little about, their presentation is very easy to predict while still giving room for megatons.

Nintendo will also do a 3DS-centered Direct a couple of weeks before E3, so that their E3 Direct is focused exclusively on Wii U.

Metroid and Star Fox could really be replaced with any big Nintendo IP that's highly requested of a new entry. Kirby, F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Punch-Out, etc. I do believe at least two of these will get a Wii U entry revealed at E3.

Since Nintendo has confirmed there are several co-productions in the works in the vein of Mario & Sonic, Hyrule Warriors, SMTxFE and the presumed Pokken, I predict their biggest reveal is going to be another one of those. Something so big and unexpected that will cause GAF to melt.

After that, the huge shock will make me wake up from my cryogenic sleep, and realize I live in a different world where video games don't exist.

I wonder if we will get a release date in NA for Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney?
I am really looking forward to playing that game!
It does seem like we have little information about so many titles, I'm hoping (and hyped) for a good E3 this year.

Capcom is taking their time, but I'm expecting it to hit sometime around September.

That sounds good to me! With Curtain Call rumored to be releasing in September, and then Pokemon in November. The end of the year will be looking great. Plus whatever goodies we get from E3.

Approximately 0%. Are people really forgetting that Tropical Freeze just came out in February?
But there's some pretty solid evidence out there that the game was finished in September. Of course, there's still no chance in hell a game that started development in September would be E3 ready of course. But Iwata said they'll be showing games very early in development so who knows.

Plus, we all know their next big anticipated game is "Donkey Kong Country: Temperate Dessert". duh!
I actually hope they do show a DK sequel at E3 2016. Just to see Geoff Keighley, and the haters on GAF get irritated again lol.

Games early in development? Incoming sizzle reel of concept art for 2016-2017 games?

Wow. Didn't realise this. Do you have a source for that comment?

It was regarding the GamePad games.. I really fear they're just doing "Wii Play GamePad" and will show a bunch of "concepts" to get the third party creative juice flowing, still not realizing that mini game collections is not what people want, and that third parties don't want (or can't afford/risk) to be creative.

From an unofficial translation of the Q&A by StreetsAhead:

Satoru Iwata said:
Today I only spoke about Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers For Wii U in terms of Wii U software, however, at the E3 event to be held in June in Los Angeles we will discuss other software as well. Also, at that time, we will introduce multiple games that are designed to introduce players to the value of the Wii U Game Pad by demonstrating playstyles only possible because of it. These titles have been developed by internal teams under the guidance of Mr. Miyamoto (Board Member, General Manager of the Development Division). The software titles that we will show at E3, which make use of the Game Pad, will range from near complete titles to titles that are early in development, but will demonstrate the titles' core appeals. We are preparing multiple software like this for the show.

That sounds more like he means they have several Gamepad-oriented games in different stages of development and they intend to show off lots or all of them. It might not apply to traditional/non-Gamepad-oriented games.

Where was this said? Very interested to hear what other companies could do for Nintendo IP

Who's to say those GamePad games can't be intended for the core audience? Hell, Miyamoto specifically called out Metroid as a game that would make great use of the GamePad, and Metroid sure as fuck ain't casual bullshit.

Also, everyone ignores what Iwata said back in January:

Satoru Iwata said:
Our top priority task this year is to offer software titles that are made possible because of the GamePad.
We have managed to offer several of such software titles for occasions when many people gather in one place to play, but we have not been able to offer a decisive software title that enriches the user’s gameplay experience when playing alone with the GamePad. This will be one of the top priorities of Mr. Miyamoto’s software development department this year.

Iwata's basically saying they've already shown how the GamePad can enhance casual, multiplayer games, but he wants to prove the GamePad can also enhance core, single player games as well. Yet somehow everyone thinks Iwata is saying they're going to show even more casual bullshit.

I see how you interpreted my post that way, but I didn't mean that all the Gamepad-oriented games would be "casual bullshit." Just that it seemed like what he was referring to with that statement.

There are games that definitely wouldn't work well with the Gamepad though, which would exclude them in that case. Not that I expect the games to get shown anyway, but something like F-Zero wouldn't work at all because it's simply too fast-paced for the player to be shifting between screens comfortable. Could say the same thing about a good rail shooter Star Fox game, but there's a bit more room to make it work with that one if they really wanted to for whatever reason.

Games that are slower paced or at least don't require constant attention and activity are better as Gamepad-oriented games. A new 2D Metroid game would be a great fit.

Certainly not. But if Metroid is a 3D FPA ala prime, I think I'd rather control aiming by a wiimote than gamepad gyro or sticks (or GC style lock ons). If it's 2/2.5D, I'll only end up asking why it isn't a 3DS title, so they're in a lose lose situation there with me I'm afraid.

Even if he can show it can improve core games beyond off tv play, I think it really doesn't matter at this point. 3rd parties are never coming back to wii u, and I'd rather nintendo focus on making top tier games without using the gamepad for anything beyond maybe off tv play, because I seriously feel it doesn't lend itself well to motion gaming due to the large size. Anything else, such as dual screen uses or touch screen gaming is pretty much already done better on DS/3DS or tablets, so ...

If I take the s and put it first, keep the e and m, put U (for Wii U) between, replace g with the letter next to it in the alphabet (+a=+1), ".." = 2 unknown = e for e3, n for nintendo.. Wow!

Shenmue confirmed!

I can see it now...

"Were we wrong about the Wii U?"

"Is 2014 the year of the Wii U?"

;)

SMB4WiiU comes out in Winter. November's still Autumn/Fall.

Epic leak fail.

lol, there's a cycle with Nintendo's games.

When Nintendo's quiet, you get a ton of articles about how they're dying as a company, why they're screwed, how it'd be better if they went third party, etc. etc.

But when Nintendo releases a game that does really well, you get how Nintendo games have their own unique charm, how people are "underestimating Nintendo", how they actually make some of the best games in the industry, etc. etc.

Rinse, repeat.

So watched the E3 2013 direct yesterday and when it got to the the 3rd party section I can't help but wonder if there even will be a section for them this year. They have watch dogs coming late, skylanders, and project cars. But what else that isn't exclusive to them?

Nintendo E3 2002

http://youtu.be/6uzTeRvm1Uo

I would not mind that level of games. As good as E3 2004 Metroid, starfox, mario, zelda

I only started watching Nintendo's press conferences in 2003 and comparing the two there seems to be a big difference in terms of the stage and venue it was held at.

I was always wondering though, were there live streams of the conference in 2002 or the previous years? From any of the big three even for that matter? I always assumed it became popular in 03 due to sites like Gamespot at the time providing streams and the uptake in viewership rising year on year.
