Watch_Dogs 2 announced at E3 2015, released in November 2015. And thus began the annual release cycle.

By the way, interesting article : clickey

Change "movies" by "video games", and 'Hollywood' by "publishers", and it works.

Offer content that meets their need. Or is it "Offer content they believe meets their need because you made them believe so"

I guess this is the prime example of why all Ubisoft games feel the same. Doesn't look like it's going to get any better.

Releasing franchises often is exactly why I got burned out on Assassin's Creed. I don't want to play those games anymore because I feel like I'm drowning in them, and the jump in innovation between each release has diminished quite a bit.

Burned out on Assassin's Creed? Play any of their other franchises, which are literally just Assassin's Creed games released with other brand names. Assassin's Creed: Car Driving Version is coming out soon. Got a bar that needs filling? Fill bars in Assassin's Creed: Himalayan Yeti Edition, releasing this fall. Gaga for Gaga? Dance the night away in Assassin's Creed: Dancing, developed by Ubisoft Pyongyang.

I for one hope that open world and online isn't in every major aaa title the next year or so

The Analytics is kind of scary. Not from a privacy point of view, but from the "Mass market are largely idiots and they will drive the numbers" point of view.

Is there any info on how the ranking ended up in AC4?

Slide #4 in the PDF is thread worthy. Someone make a thread about it.

I agree. I like that people are looking at implementing Mods/UGC. I just hope that they look more at Skyrim as the target and not like Infamous 2. Give players the freedom to make it crazy.

Can't wait until ubi release all their properties in a single title every year

Watch Assassin's Cry: Rainbow Legends Divison

Moving towards a single game universe. Can't wait till there E3 2015 demo where you are driving round in The Crew: Revengance and it pulls out to reveal you are actually Rayman driving around in The Division 2

All for franchises' Ubi but by eck give them some time to breath. People will get sick of them

And then what

So....does the game designer for the original Assassin's Creed get royalties for every Ubisoft game since 2007 and forward? Something to think about.

Patrice!

No, he just gets unceremoniously fired and his IP held up in court proceedings. Thanks for the memories.

yeah, child of light feels so much like assassin's creed >_>

You know what I mean.

Take any of their open world games and it's basically the same game design across all of them.

This basically is another homogenization plan: "Let's do this to all our games for maximum profit!"

ENHANCEDMODINGSHARINGINCREASEDLIFESPAN.

Anyway, Ubisoft is handling the transition pretty well, all things considered, and are expecting strong earnings this year.

I wonder how they're going to handle the decline in their casual brands though, dropping faster than their core brands (on a revenue percentage basis). I'm guessing the increase in sales revenue forecast is mostly from the latter, if not all from the latter recovering.

User generated content on a console? Long gaming hours (i.e. 'increases lifespan of gaming experience), but with more often new releases & a good chance that the related servers will shut down faster and more often?

...but this possible the best part of a slide I saw for a long time

I wonder what they mean with more user generated content, apart from trackmania their setup has been pretty bad for modding.
