Nintendo Hosting Smash Bros and new 3DS Game Discussions at E3

I get the impression that it's going to be about a game that is currently unannounced, not that it won't be announced before the discussion. It seems odd that they would omit the announcement of a game noteworthy enough to get it's own discussion/roundtable at their main event.

*shrugs* Nintendo does strange things at times that its just hard to predict what they will and won't do. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Almost certain it is Majora's Mask 3D (which is all but confirmed to show up eventually), although I hope I'm pleasantly surprised and it's for a 2D Metroid game or Advance Wars title.

They aren't calling it a 3DS Direct, it's just a "discussion"/roundtable with the developers. Like I said above, I doubt there will be any announcements there, just more details on what will probably be their big holiday title for 3DS.

For sure. We'll find out what game it is that morning during the digital event.

It's an FF7-9 remake collection.

Easiest money Square would ever make. I honestly can't believe it hasn't happened. Gotta be something to do with Sony. I know they published FFVII but it can't just be that or else FFVIII/IX would still be on the table. I mean Square could charge $40 a piece for these games.

Also, gimmie Chrono Cross 3D.

No....I've done everything I've can to not get hyped. I've stayed mostly out of Nintendo E3 threads,,,,but...this...is too much....

HYPE!!!!

Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel. Yabuki turned off voice chat in Mario Kart races. True artists of their time.
An hour and a half long Smash Bros. discussion with Sakurai, and a potentially major new title for the 3DS?

Yeah, I'm hyped.

Not to be a party pooper, but it would be a bit ridiculous to have an 1.5 hour discussion for remakes like MM3D or short games like Metroid. The 3DS talk will probably be about an NFC game that Nintendo will really want to push.

Again, though. Why would it be about the 3DS NFC stuff when that's over a year out, instead of the WiiU NFC stuff that will be out fairly soon?
It makes no sense.
This isn't about the NFC games. There's just no way.

Think 1.5 hours would be too long for monolithsoft's 3ds game?

1.5 hours is way too long for a game that doesn't exist, yes.

Edit: To not be a dick, this rumor came up because Monolith Soft was hiring for their Kyoto studio which was working on a 3DS game at the time. That studio is just an asset production studio that helps Nintendo with other games, and they have already assisted with two 3DS games (ALBW and Animal Crossing).

So there is a world that exists where people think Nintendo is going to devote an hour-long round table to a (theoretical) 3DS RPG from Monolith? Come on.

Nintendo hasn't announced any big 2nd half 3DS games besides Smash Bros. Whatever it is, it is going to be a notable IP. Most likely not a Majora's Mask port, and certainly not a niche Monolith RPG.

There is no Monolith Soft 3DS game.

That isn't a game. It's just concept art to recruit for a small team full of artists dedicated to assisting other Nintendo teams.

Why are strippers at the U.N. bad when they're great at strip clubs???

It's hard to pinpoint what that I.P. will be. Smash and Pokemon are Summer and November releases respectively.

Zelda on 3DS seems too early except if it's a remake (Majoras Mask) as Zelda A Link Between World was just released this past November.

A new 3D Mario or Animal Crossing a possibility? That seems like the only options for notable IP's

Too early for a 3D Mario unless it is from another team, 3D World has only been out for 6 months. And Animal Crossing wouldn't make much sense given Nintendo's evergreen philosophy.

That's why I keep going back to a new 2D Metroid game. It is something that would get E3 crowd and their core fans excited, and even though it's not among their biggest selling IPs is not exactly a small one either.

Still, that doesn't seem like the type of game you have an hour and a half developer roundtable for. It also wouldn't really qualify as a "major" holiday title since it probably wouldn't sell much better than FE:A worldwide.

I feel like the only possibilities are a new Mario, or a completely new thing they're trying to push; something they want to blow up like brain training or nintendogs did. I can't imagine what else could get 90 minutes devoted to it; obviously a new 3DS Zelda won't happen any time soon.

That looks sweet, what type of game do you guys think it'll be???

Recruitment poster simulator 2013.

This was apparently not an ad from the main monolithsoft, but from the branch that provides manpower and support to other studios. They were recruiting new people to assist development on other games, not advertising for their own product, for they don't actually have their own projects.

To be specific they are a studio entirely of artists, so they do artwork and assets for Nintendo games.

This year will be the year Nintendo finally re-reveals Donkey Kong Racing.

Wish MonolithSoft gave us a sequel to Soma Bringer. Such a fun and beautiful co-op game and I loved collecting loot and getting better stuff in that game.
